I let out a short, defeated sigh. "You're half right. The sex part and not that of the mutual feelings shit. " "I'm not gonna to sleep with you because you want a revenge. When our bodies entangle, it will be as a result of our love for each other."  He retorts, looking me straight in the eye. My heart starts racing, making me gulp hard. But my face is straight and void of expression as I chide myself for feeling that way.              ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Beth Blake was a skilled pole dancer at Cassana Clubhouse who loved her younger sister so much and swore to do anything for them to survive. She also loved her work and waved off the criticism that came her way. But one faithful night, Ted Young- the powerful MD of a renowned company has come in disguise of being a business man, got allured by her seductive pole dance and that was the beginning of their chemistry. There are so many secrets and obstacles but would their undying love for each other help them find redemption?

Chapter 1 1: Break Up

~A slow, seductive dance to fall for~

●Beth Indie Blake●

Under the strobe light, I slide down the pole about to finish off with a fireman spin. My firm hands grips it like a baseball bat with my left leg swinging around as I jump off and grab unto it with both of my knees.

Leaning away, I spin around the pole and watch slyly as two men walk towards me and tuck some dollar notes inbetween my boobs but they're careful not to be touchy. Then I spin down the pole till my heels are in contact with the ground.

Moving my hips backward, I'm back in a standing position. So I flip my hair and lick my bottom lip with my tongue before leaving through the backstage.

The locker room is half filled with other dancers dressing up to take over from those entertaining the customers.

"Beth, you'd stay back for some drinks, huh?"

Not sparing anyone a look, I shake my head in response and proceed to remove my knee pad, then my heels. Till I'm just in my halter top and high waist short.

A small sigh escapes my lips as I open my locker and pull out a strapless silk gown I'd be leaving in. A cold shower would have been better but I've to meet up with Mark in the next twenty minutes.

We've been having hitches as regards time management for three months now but there's still communication so we haven't yet considered a break up. Impulsively, a small smile creeps up my face and I'm thankful for the kind of boyfriend that I have.

Pulling off my halter top, lots of money fall off and I roll my eyes before stooping to pick them all up. I've been making good cash for the past three months since I started work here at Cassana Club house as a pole dancer and it sometimes angers my colleagues that have been here long before I started that I'm stealing the spotlight and getting more tips.

A dark chuckle escapes my slightly parted lips, same time a high pitched voice began speaking.

"You made all this tonight? Girl, you should buy us drinks."

I know without turning that it's Halsey and when I eventually tilt my head towards her direction, I send her a hard glare and though her lips immediately seals up, it doesn't make all others around us to un-hear what she spat out.

Their mutters have started once more. Talking shit about me and being green with envy but I care less so I just grab my sling bag and saunter towards the female rest room where I quickly change into my strapless, thigh length silk gown.

In front of the small coffee shop, a smirk crosses my face as I sight the open-tag turned to the back, signifying that it's close. I would have believed it but I don't cause Mark does that everytime I come over so we get to spend time together before heading home.

At times we'd see some customers from the glass panel wondering why the coffee shop is closed so early and we'll laugh while sharing a kiss and proceed to make out.

I didn't tell him I'll be coming here tonight, though but that's for more fun effect.

The dimly lit light inside tells that he's still around so I let out a small chuckle, push open the door and walk inside on tippy toes.

I drop my sling bag on the table nearest to me and continue towards the inner room for "Staff Only." But a weird sound makes me pause at the doorway and my brows furrows to form an arc.

"Let's be quick. We shouldn't have sex here." A feminine voice fills the air and I nearly gasps, my hand quickly covering my mouth to prevent any sound from escaping.

My heart's beating erratically and I try to convince myself that I'm hallucinating. But his next words actually confirms the cruel reality.

"I need to savor every moment with you. Who said Beth's is coming here anyways? She's probably sliding some pole like a snake and flirting around with random men."

My heart did clench for two reasons. He trash talked something I take pride in and he called me by my first name. Which is something he never did even when we fight.

"She's still a stripper? Oh Mark, you've really been through a lot." And then I hear sounds of them kissing and it disgusts me to the very core.

Anger boils within me and I'm torn between walking away without making my presence known or taking them by surprise and giving them a piece of my mind.

Cracking my knuckles, I exhale sharply and barge inside the room to behold Mark being straddled on a table by a thick brunette as her hands circle his neck.

I feel so miserable as a frustrated laugh escapes my lips while staring at them.

Wasn't that the girl I saw while scrolling through his phone last week and he lied about her being his cousin?!

Oh God, I feel so ashamed and played right now.

"Beth... Indie, I-" His voice trails off and he stares everywhere but at me.

Rolling her large eyes, the brunette jumps off his lap and flip her long, wavy hair; making acrimony rise within my guts.

"Stick to the name "Beth" and quit being a pretentious scum. I hope we never see each other again!" I let him know before turning to the girl beside him.

"Dear Mark's cousin, I pole dance not strip. I don't flirt to make money. I'm fit to utilize my acrobatic skill so get your dumb mindset changed."

If my hard glare has laser, she'd be dead by now. No. They'd be dead by now.

I can't stand them any longer so I walk away and grab my sling bag before exiting his coffee shop.

My heart's so heavy and I feel so broken. I bet it would have been better if we ended the relationship when the hitched began rather than get slammed with the disrespect of my boyfriend cheating on me.

My shoulder sag as I stand dejectedly in front of his coffee shop, wondering when the duo began seeing themselves. Was it before the hitch? Or because of the poor time management we had- I had during those months.

I'm trying not to think too much. For this wouldn't be as painful as it is, if I never liked him. But I do. Or rather, I did.

My feelings did an automatic switch off when he told that brunette stupid things about me and I won't easily forgive him. No, not until I'm done paying him back.

I walk away from the front of his coffee shop to a restaurant nearby. Suddenly, I feel like eating and using the rest room. But before I walk through the door, I retrieve my phone from my sling bag and put a call across to him.

Definitely, not Mark.

But a customer I've grown quite close with. He's been visiting Cassana Club house for the past one month and three weeks just to see me and make some moves but I never fail to friendzone him, as supposed.

Today he came but left an hour before I got off work. He was there during my practice hours and we talked a lot before it was work time.

A sudden need to call him takes over my reasoning and within a blink of an eye, I've gotten a call placed to him. This doesn't settle well within me as I'm not sure why I'm calling him if not to be a rebound, tonight.

But before I can end the call, he picks up and his energetic voice fills my ear. I feel like smiling but it's weird cause tears are hanging there in my eyes, making them glisten. And thankfully, they don't fall off cause I'll hate myself for crying over a scum.

"Are you busy right now? You said you live around..." My voice trails off and I don't believe I'm doing this.

"I'm on my way from the grocery shop. You're still at Cassana? I can stop by to pick you up." He says.

I quickly shake my head but then remember that he isn't here so he can't see him. "No, Ted. I'm some blocks away. At Jel's Restaurant."

My eyes darts towards the restaurant's signboard to be sure I'm not making a mistake. And it's the same thing.

"I should be there in the next five minutes." He retorts, hanging up while I tighten my grip on my phone and walk into the restaurant.
