Chapter 1 Welcome to the human world

Elena’s POV.

“I’m not getting married. It must have been a misunderstanding or something.” I reassured her.

To think she thinks I’m getting married. The ring light made my face look extra radiant. Beneath all the grime and dirt I was actually pretty.

I accessorized according to the purple gown that I had picked myself. The gown was a mini dress that flayed out just above my knees and had one puffed up sleeve, the other hand bare.

I paired it with knee-high heeled boots. For jewelry, I went for silver hoops and a simple silver choker. I was ready for whatever this kind man had in store for me.

Just before I went out, I twirled in front of the massive mirror, making sure I looked good. At the showroom, the man was sitting on the luxurious couch, his arms crossed over his massive chest as he stared at his open laptop, no doubt working.

For the first time he was without his shades on. He was actually handsome. He had charcoal black hair and green eyes that gleamed under the harsh lights of the place.

“So, what do you think?” I asked to draw his attention.

He glances up, his eyes widening a little before his expression changes back to his regular expressionless face.

He nods coolly before glancing back at his laptop. His nonchalance makes me a little bit sad. It’s been almost since my past life since I dressed up. I don’t remember my past life, but everyone has one. I’ve heard of some other people’s past lives from their conversations. I’ve heard of a she wolf who was a Luna in her past life but was reincarnated as an Omega. How sad.

The man tapped his foot impatiently as the receptionist printed out his bill.

“Umm, thanks for the stuff, Mr.…. What’s your name again?” Even the sound of my voice surprised me.

He grunted in response. Come on. At least reply in monosyllables. I’ll take that any day to stiff nods and grunts. Just as we got to the car, his hand on my waist stopped me.

“I’m Lucas The Alpha king and you are my Luna, Elena.” I blinked once, twice before gaping like a fish out of water. He held the door open for me and I, stunned into silence, got in.

“I can’t be your Luna. Trust me. I don’t know what my stepmother must have told you, but I am the least suitable person for the job. But I do know a few who would be perfect. Are you interested?” I kept going on and on knowing fully well I was not Luna material. But actually I am the daughter of a ruthless alpha Uncle who tossed me aside like trash when dad died.

“Fucking shut up! I’m trying to work.” Mood killer. He couldn’t have been polite about it.

The car zoomed past the rest of the town and soon, I was lulled asleep by the rhythmic vibrations of the running engine as it labored to get us to our destination.

I was tapped awake by a really impatient hand. He beckons me to follow him outside the car. Outside, my view was filled with a beautiful mansion.

“Oh my Goodness!” Trust me when I say I have never seen anything like it.

The doors were huge and golden and there were so many windows. The house itself was a brilliant white. The lawns were trimmed to perfection, everywhere the same length.

We had arrived in the late evening and the last golden hues of the sun cast its rays on the house, making it picturesque. It felt like a fairytale honestly. Lucas placed his hand on my waist, propelling me forward. I could not speak as I gaped at my surroundings.

I noticed there were other cars present. They all looked like billionaire’s cars. There were sports cars, jeeps, Etc. I had never even seen these cars before. I had only heard the names of the brands of the cars. We took the short flight of stairs that led to the entrance. The door looked way better up close. There was a lion with a ringer in its mouth. If I hadn’t figured out he was crazy rich by now, this would have been the deciding factor. He used his fingerprint to open the door and shut it after me.

He took off his suit, revealing his fit white shirt that showed his fit form perfectly. I could see his well-defined muscles underneath the thin long shirt whose sleeves he had rolled up to his elbows. It suddenly felt too hot in the place and I tried to drag my eyes away from his form. He held my hands and I felt tingles move through his fingertips to mine.

He directed me to the next door, before leaving me in front with no explanation except to not open the door. Perplexed, I followed his orders and stood patiently in front of the massive closed doors. I heard faint music playing. It sounded beautiful but I couldn’t distinguish the notes. Suddenly, the massive doors swung open and a random person from inside handed me a bouquet of flowers.

The tunes of the bridal began and I suddenly knew what was going on. He could have at least given me a heads up . There were about 100 people in what appeared to be a ballroom. Who in the world has a ball room? That is some rich people stuff. I wonder if it’s old money or new money.

“Girl focus! We're about to get married. You can’t be thinking of that!” The wolf within me roared in the depths of my thoughts. There were a lot of people looking at me expectantly and slowly, I began the walk down the aisle.
