Blurb "Come back to me Lyla, you can't go elsewhere, you have always been mine". He shocked her limped body vigorously. Born as a werewolf, and then cursed again as a child. Damien knew he wasn't the same as others, he was a rare breed first of his kind. He was never allowed to play as a child or make any friends but that didn't stop him from knowing how to hunt and kill as a werewolf. He never had his werewolf maybe because of his curse he always thought making him brutal ruthless and evil and refusing to become the alpha that he was supposed to be until a beautiful girl named Lyla came into the picture, the urge to protect her at all cost became so great but that would only be possible if he became an alpha which he detest the most.

Chapter 1 The kidnap

Lyla's POV

The sun up there was blazing hot, as it showed between the trees and I could see shadows on the ground.

I looked down at my shadow and was surprised to see it look smaller than I am. "Did I get shorter?" I grimaced.

What am I seeing? Did your butt got bigger or is it my eyes deceiving me now I suddenly heard Justina's sarcastic voice behind me. She's always looking for an opportunity to make fun of my small ass.

Justina, Tina for short as I do call her, has been my friend for years now. We grew up almost together and became close enough for people to mistake us as twins or siblings mainly because we have almost the same character.

Tina's twin sister Aurora was opposite of us. We were currently on our way to get dresses for her date tomorrow evening with her love.

I need to get some dresses for myself as well. I might meet a Prince Charming tomorrow at your date, who knows I smiled bushing at the thought of meeting a man who would sweep me off my feet.

" Your ass seems bigger, trust me" Aurora commented again while turning me around to have a clearer view of my backside. Did you get an ass lift up, she suddenly said her eyes half closed staring deeply at me.

Will you get your ass in the car now, I said angrily as I pushed her into the car waiting to drive us to the boutique where we would be doing our shopping.

I wonder if your brain is even bigger than the size of a mustard seed, I said sticking out my tongue at her and she smiled sheepishly at me

Am I correct Right? She said laughing,I rolled my eyes at her and turned my face to the other side.

I wasn't supposed to be angry at her but I just can't stop hating the fact that I wore an artificial bum despite everything I have done to gain weight in the right places. I eat like a horse, do workouts but my butt still remains flat like it was glued to my small body and can never stick out.

Stop denying it girl she said again, I turned to see her smiling sheepishly at me. Fine i said feeling defeated.i wore it to appear sexy at the mall.

There's nothing to be ashamed of girlie, you look astonishingly beautiful the way you are, with your green eyes and ginger red eyes.

Amused, I asked her have you seen my ass before? Like did you ever see me without any clothes on?

She laughed and then touched my hair, patting my head slightly. You need to stop this insecurities of yours girl, you are perfect.

I wouldn't dare to take my eyes off you if I was a boy, trust me I would do you now and then if I was a boy she said, giving me a wink. Well too bad you are not one I announced getting out of the car.

Tina sighted a young girl selling different artist stickers and she rushed to get some. Tina's love for her favorite artists is so huge that entering her room you would get sick of various stickers pasted all over the room, so much that her room looks a bit creepy to me.

Rolling my eyes at the thought of Heaven knows how many she would be purchasing, I started walking towards her direction when I felt a hand pull me back.

I looked down to see a woman with tarot cards displayed in front of her, she was dressed in all black from head to toe, her makeup and nails were black as well. She looks kind of a weirdo.

Pick a card she said smiling at me, her dark colored teeth scaring the shit out of me. I don't want to, I said firmly.

Pick a card now and refute the dead child, she repeated but this time her eyes were turning red, and her hair was rising up on her head. Scared, I quickly removed my hand from hers and took a random card then gave it to her.

She looked at it for a few seconds and then back at me, your future is so dark that I see nothing but darkness and death. Then she turned to look in Tina's direction.

She pointed her hand at Tina, be careful of the lady in pink dress she said drastically.

I turned around ignoring her nonsense talks and ran into the mall. I tapped Tina on the shoulder once I got inside, she was busy examining the stickers in her hand.

You look like you fucking saw a ghost , she said examining me. I saw a woman dressed like a weirdo. She said some things about darkness and death.

When she asked, looking around, I pointed in the direction where the woman was standing. I looked back only to discover there was no one there, where she was standing minutes ago was already empty.

I walked back to where I had seen her but it seemed as if no one had been there.

Maybe you were imagining things, Lyla, Tina said, scratching her nose gently.

No, I am not mad, I said , taking my hands through my hair. I saw a woman here just now and... I paused, swallowing my saliva. And.. she asked me to pick a card which I did, then she talked about scary things.

Tina's phone suddenly rang, she picked it up and seconds later she was done receiving the call.

It was Henry, your brother. He wants you to help him pick up his orders at the cafe close here, she informed me.

I wondered why my brother had to text her when I was right here. How did he know we went shopping? I questioned Tina.

Lucas, you know, he might be with him. They may be together, she said guessing.

Let's just go pick the orders now, they might have closed for the day before we finish shopping. I suggested completely forgetting about the scary stuff that happened, we walked to the parking lot, informed the driver and he drove us to the cafe. Twenty minutes later, we arrived at the cafe.

We got his orders and left the cafe. We were inside the car reading a post on her Instagram feed when Tina suddenly spoke up.

This weird pearl said, making me look up from the phone I was holding. What's weird? I asked.

This post, it's not what it is... Tina hasn't completed her sentence when the driver suddenly parked on the empty road.

What's going on? I asked, but he just got down without saying anything. I tried opening my door so I could challenge him for his attitude but the door won't open, Tina was trying the same thing too.

Then suddenly some groups of men opened the door, and immediately threw a large bag over our heads. I began removing it, fighting them with all my strength until I felt a hard object hit the back of my head and I felt dizzy.

I tugged at one of their shirts to get a hold of myself, but the object hit me again at the back of my head and I lost consciousness but before everything went black I heard a low growl, although I wasn't sure if that was real.

I lived as the "scarred ghost" of the Stephens penthouse, a wife kept in the shadows because my facial burns offended my billionaire husband’s aesthetic. For years, I endured Kason’s coldness and my family's abuse, a submissive puppet who believed she had nowhere else to go. The end came with a blue folder tossed onto my silk sheets. Kason’s mistress was back, and he wanted me out by sunset, offering a five-million-dollar "silence fee" to go hide my face in the countryside. The betrayal cut deep when I discovered my father had already traded my divorce for a corporate bailout. My step-sister mocked my "trashy" appearance at a high-end boutique, while the sales staff treated me like a common thief. At home, my father threatened to cut off my mother's life-saving medicine unless I crawled back to Kason to beg for a better deal. I was the girl who took the blame for a fire she didn't start, the wife who worshipped a man who never looked her in the eye, and the daughter used as a human bargaining chip. I was supposed to be broken, penniless, and desperate. But the woman who stood up wasn't the weak Elease Finch anymore; she was Phoenix, a tactical predator with a $500 million secret. I signed the divorce papers without a single tear, walked past my stunned husband, and wiped the Finch family's bank accounts clean with a few taps on my phone. "Your money is dirty," I told Kason with a cold smile. "I prefer clean hands." The cage is open, the hunt has begun, and I’m starting with the people who thought a scar made me weak.

Today is October 14th, my birthday. I returned to New York after months away, dragging my suitcase through the biting wind, but the VIP pickup zone where my husband’s Maybach usually idled was empty. When I finally let myself into our Upper East Side penthouse, I didn’t find a cake or a "welcome home" banner. Instead, I found my husband, Caden, kneeling on the floor, helping our five-year-old daughter wrap a massive gift for my half-sister, Adalynn. Caden didn’t even look up when I walked in; he was too busy laughing with the girl who had already stolen my father’s legacy and was now moving in on my family. "Auntie Addie is a million times better than Mommy," my daughter Elara chirped, clutching a plush toy Caden had once forbidden me from buying for her. "Mommy is mean," she whispered loudly, while Caden just smirked, calling me a "drill sergeant" before whisking her off to Adalynn’s party without a second glance. Later that night, I saw a video Adalynn posted online where my husband and child laughed while mocking my "sensitive" nature, treating me like an inconvenient ghost in my own home. I had spent five years researching nutrition for Elara’s health and managing every detail of Caden’s empire, only to be discarded the moment I wasn't in the room. How could the man who set his safe combination to my birthday completely forget I even existed? The realization didn't break me; it turned me into ice. I didn't scream or beg for an explanation. I simply walked into the study, pulled out the divorce papers I’d drafted months ago, and took a black marker to the terms. I crossed out the alimony, the mansion, and even the custody clause—if they wanted a life without me, I would give them exactly what they asked for. I left my four-carat diamond ring on the console table and walked out into the rain with nothing but a heavily encrypted hard drive. The submissive Mrs. Holloway was gone, and "Ghost," the most lethal architect in the tech world, was finally back online to take back everything they thought I’d forgotten.
