Mafia's Purchased Little Bride Chapter 1 Death of Mr. and Mrs. Austin

It was a cool evening, everywhere was calm and the weather was friendly, the street was so empty that no one was in sight except a cat which ran in the opposite direction across the street, only the sounds of dogs barking and the breeze blowing quietly among the trees could be heard.

Western Cape, a small town located in the western part of England, a quiet, beautiful, and peaceful arena, suddenly got disturbed following the news of the death of the town Major and his wife 'Mr. and Mrs. Austin', the famous couple who are weather forecasters. The once calm and quiet streets of the western Cape suddenly became filled with different people and reporters from various parts of the city, gathered together because the sad incident came as a shock to everyone unexpectedly.

The beautiful couple who live in a duplex, down the street and works at 'Rising Sun' a forecasting company rated first in the whole of England, these couples are among the top 5 forecasters working in the company and have been awarded many times for their diligence, they are loved by their viewers being couples and they both look very attractive. The couple who are both top stars met at the company and fell for each other, got married recently, and gave birth to their only daughter named Isabella two years after they got married. Among their co-workers, they both are loved for being flawless. Mrs Austin being a cheerful and motivational speaker is loved by her colleagues for her good spirit and encouraging speeches, despite her beauty and position in the company she never looked down on any of her colleagues but instead treats everyone with respect from the lowest position to the highest, as she believes everyone deserves to be respected. While Mr.Austin, a playful and kind-hearted man won the heart of all his colleagues for being a good man. He detests dishonest and bullying and would do anything possible to get to know the truth in a case of dishonesty, while in a case of bullying,g he would make sure the person bullying doesn't go scot-free while he gives support to the one being bullied. The couples spend most of their time outside work particularly weekends exploring places and going to beaches. They are also known to be a part of an organization supporting and sponsoring the elderly and orphanages, as well as the sick. It was the weekend and they had gone to visit new places as usual, a video of them at a restaurant had been uploaded by the couple where they were trying out a new meal and enjoying their time together.

Then the next thing was news of them found dead in their home not more than 24 hours after they were last seen online uploading pics and videos of themselves, with the cause of death unknown.

They were found dead by the couple's next-door neighbor 'an artist', who was just returning home from the studio down the street. He had entered the house to inform his friend Mr Austin of his return, so they could step out in an hour to play their favorite game 'basketball' together as usual, but stepping into the house he was astonished to find the house in an unusual silence and the atmosphere wasn't welcoming. Pushing forward the door leading to their balcony, he was dead-struck in his tracks, shocked and confused as the sight in front of him was just too much for him to comprehend, he couldn't believe what he was seeing. He was covered with sweats in minutes, as his whole body vibrated and he fell straight to the floor trembling while sweating profusely. A few minutes later, he got himself together and called the cops, he told them the name of the street and the house number.

The reporters who got there shortly after the cops arrived interrogated a few people who were present as well as the neighbors, while they also observed anyone who might be related to the deceased. The ambulance arrived at the scene and the bodies were carried out of the house, ready to be taken away. As the bodies were being carried into the ambulance, the deceased only child Isabella was sighted by some of the neighbors sluggishly walking towards them, unaware of the bad incident that had occurred, people began murmuring as she approached the house.

To Isabella, that wasn't the first time she would see reporters outside their house so she wasn't surprised, but she was a bit confused by the presence of familiar faces among the people gathering. Looking into the faces staring back at her, she saw nothing like happiness, but sadness with pitiful looks. She became tense, her heart beating fast against her chest. Despite being a young teenager, she could read and understand different looks and emotions that were displayed on people's faces, a trait she inherited from her father. Pushing forward through the crowd, she saw what she couldn't believe she is seeing, there in front of her were two bodies covered with white cloth, she ran towards them but was stopped by the cops and other people trying to hold her back, then suddenly everything went blurry, all she could hear was distant voices. She knew her world had come to an end as the bodies of her only beloved ones had been carried away lifeless.

The police checked the house for anything that may serve as a clue as to what might have to the other couple's demise, they also checked for any sign of suicide and suicide note, and every corner of the howls was checked for any sign of someone breaking into the house, but there was none, everything in the house was in order. The window glasses and door knobs were not broken neither was there any piece of sharp objects or murder tools anywhere in and around the house. It showed no sign of anyone breaking in.

I thought I was waking up in the arms of Arthur, the man I loved. But as the morning light hit the Hamptons estate, the man buttoning his cuffs by the window turned around with eyes like chips of ice. It was Augustus Riddle, Arthur’s cruel younger brother, and I had just spent the night whispering confessions of love into the wrong man's ear. The night I thought was a beautiful beginning turned into a devastating nightmare. Instead of comfort, Gus treated me like a stain on his expensive carpet, scribbling a check for "services rendered" before shoving me into a dark service corridor to hide my existence from his brother. "How much does it cost to buy your silence?" He sneered, before leaving me barefoot in a torrential downpour while he drove away in a luxury Cadillac. Four years later, I am a struggling actress in Los Angeles, working double shifts as a barista just to keep the lights on. My life was finally stable until my roommate dragged me to a high-end dinner to meet her new "influential" boyfriend. The man sitting at the table, looking more arrogant and lethal than ever, was Augustus. He spent the entire night humiliating me, calling me a pathetic amateur and a social climber in front of my only friends. When I fled into the rain and collapsed on the sidewalk, skinning my knee until I bled, he watched from his car. He saw me clutching a plastic baggie containing the taped-together pieces of that four-year-old check—the only proof of my shame. He looked at me like roadkill, rolled up his window, and drove off into the dark. I couldn't understand why he was doing this. Why did he hate me enough to crush me, yet remember that I couldn't handle the smell of cigarette smoke? Why did he leave me bleeding in the street, only to send expensive medical supplies and coffee to my door the very next morning? "I'm moving out." I told my roommates, realizing that Gus Riddle didn't just want to destroy me; he wanted to haunt me. I grabbed my suitcase and walked out with eighty dollars to my name, finally ready to disappear into the city before he could burn the rest of my life to the ground.

Rain hammered against the asphalt as my sedan spun violently into the guardrail on the I-95. Blood trickled down my temple, stinging my eyes, while the rhythmic slap of the windshield wipers mocked my panic. Trembling, I dialed my husband, Clive. His executive assistant answered instead, his voice professional and utterly cold. "Mr. Wilson says to stop the theatrics. He said, and I quote, 'Hang up. Tell her I don’t have time for her emotional blackmail tonight.'" The line went dead while I was still trapped in the wreckage. At the hospital, I watched the news footage of Clive wrapping his jacket around his "fragile" ex-girlfriend, Angelena, shielding her from the storm I was currently bleeding in. When I returned to our penthouse, I found a prenatal ultrasound in his suit pocket, dated the day he claimed to be on a business trip. Instead of an apology, Clive met me with a sneer. He told me I was nothing but an "expensive decoration" his father bought to make him look stable. He froze my bank accounts and cut off my cards, waiting for the hunger to drive me back to his feet. I stared at the man I had loved for four years, realizing he didn't just want a wife; he wanted a prop he could switch off. He thought he could starve me into submission while he played father to another woman's child. But Clive forgot one thing. Before I was his trophy wife, I was Starfall—the legendary voice actress who vanished at the height of her fame. "I'm not jealous, Clive. I'm done." I grabbed my old microphone and walked out. I’m not just leaving him; I’m taking the lead role in the biggest saga in Hollywood—the one Angelena is desperate for. This time, the "decoration" is going to burn his world down.

The sterile white of the operating room blurred, then sharpened, as Skye Sterling felt the cold clawing its way up her body. The heart monitor flatlined, a steady, high-pitched whine announcing her end. Her uterus had been removed, a desperate attempt to stop the bleeding, but the blood wouldn't clot. It just kept flowing, warm and sticky, pooling beneath her. Through heavy eyes, she saw a trembling nurse holding a phone on speaker. "Mr. Kensington," the nurse's voice cracked, "your wife... she's critical." A pause, then a sweet, poisonous giggle. Seraphina Miller. "Liam is in the shower," Seraphina's voice purred. "Stop calling, Skye. It's pathetic. Faking a medical emergency on our anniversary? Even for you, that's low." Then, Liam's bored voice: "If she dies, call the funeral home. I have a meeting in the morning." Click. The line went dead. A second later, so did Skye. The darkness that followed was absolute, suffocating, a black ocean crushing her lungs. She screamed into the void, a silent, agonizing wail of regret for loving a man who saw her as a nuisance, for dying without ever truly living. Until she died, she didn't understand. Why was her life so tragically wasted? Why did her husband, the man she loved, abandon her so cruelly? The injustice of it all burned hotter than the fever in her body. Then, the air rushed back in. Skye gasped, her body convulsing violently on the mattress. Her eyes flew open, wide and terrified, staring blindly into the darkness. Her trembling hand reached for her phone. May 12th. Five years ago. She was back.

My five-year-old daughter was dying in the ICU, her heartbeat replaced by the continuous, electronic scream of a flatline. I gripped her cold hand, my throat sealed shut by a terror so absolute I couldn't even cry out. I dialed my husband Grayson's private number, the one reserved only for me and his assistants. He declined the call instantly. A second later, a text buzzed against my palm: "In a meeting. Do not disturb. Stop calling." Five miles away, Grayson was at a luxury gala, adjusting his silk tie and laughing with Belle Escobar. He told her I was just being "dramatic" and using our daughter's "fever" as an excuse to avoid the event. He had no idea Effie's heart had already stopped. When I finally reached our penthouse, soaked from the rain and carrying Effie's small socks in a plastic bag, Grayson didn't even look at me. He snapped at me for ruining the hardwood floors and asked if I'd left Effie with the nanny just to "feel sorry for myself." Three days later, while I buried our daughter in a small, lonely ceremony, Grayson was at the Hamptons. Belle posted a photo of him golfing with the caption: "A mental health day with the boys." He didn't even attend the funeral, but he returned home demanding I clear out Effie's room to make a study for Belle's son. The injustice burned through me until there was nothing left. I swallowed a handful of sleeping pills, desperate to join my daughter. But instead of the darkness, I woke up to blinding lights and the scent of Grayson's expensive cologne. I was standing in a ballroom, wearing a blue silk dress I had already burned. Above me, a banner read: "Happy 5th Birthday Kaiden & Effie." I was back, exactly one year before the tragedy. This time, I wasn't going to be the grieving wife. I was going to be their worst nightmare.
