A neighbor had told Adiba that someone had died while building a swimming pool in the new house, but Syden thought it was a normal work accident. During Adiba's first pregnancy, Adiba really felt stressed by the various terrors in their new home, coupled with rumors circulating that Syden had a mistress who was also 5 months pregnant, just like Adiba's legal wife, Syden's gestational age.

DON'T PLAY GAMES WITH ME.part.2 Chapter 1 DON'T PLAY GAMES WITH ME.part.2

Chapter. 1

There was a soft whisper..

"Dear Adiba, we have arrived at the mall. Get up."

"Yes, Syden."

It's comfortable to stretch,

"You're beautiful, Adiba. When you wake up, your eyes twinkle like a child."

Getting out of the car, Syden immediately hugged my shoulder. I slowly let go of my husband Syden's arms, ignoring him who was surprised by my attitude. Just walking side by side is good, I also don't need Syden to always hug my shoulder every time I go to the mall. just entered the mall, a fragrant smell wafted into my nose but someone was already whispering...

"I want to hug you, Adiba, but why do you refuse? You want all men to admire your beauty, because you are even more beautiful during your first pregnancy."

I immediately stopped my steps but someone still continued whispering..

"I am your husband, proud to have a beautiful pregnant wife but you are embarrassed to be hugged by your ugly husband, Adiba."

I still remained silent and didn't want to fight even though I heard Syden's whispers because I was self-aware that I was pregnant and wanted to provide comfort to the fetus in my womb. There are still whispers...

"Look... you are always the center of attention wherever you are even though you are pregnant"Proud of you, Adiba, to be a beautiful woman."

Immediately I saw Syden's face who was standing straight beside me, while suppressing my annoyance... I kept smiling while touching Syden's cheek...

"Just go home, come on."

I turned around and walked out the door, Syden immediately hugged my shoulder..

"Adiba, let's go shopping and have lunch."

I looked at Syden's face, still trying to smile, I shook my head...

"The little one and I want to go home, if Syden wants to go to this mall... It's okay, just let Adiba go home by taxi."

I looked at him walking while stroking my stomach, Syden immediately hugged me while whispering..

"I'm sorry, dear Adiba. I'm jealous that you are the center of everyone's attention and you walk alone ignoring me, your husband."

I released myself from Syden's embrace, still smiling...

"Adiba wants to go home now. Is that okay, Syden?"

"But we haven't had lunch and we haven't shopped for baby equipment for our child, dear Adiba."

I kept shaking my head.

.

"Please Syden have lunch and buy baby supplies, Adiba still wants to go home."

Syden looked at me..

"I'm sorry, dear Adiba. I want us to have lunch together."

"Adiba just eat at home, if Syden wants to eat at this mall... Adiba just wait."

"I want us to have lunch with this little one now, dear Adiba."

Syden stroked my stomach, I removed his hand from my stomach.

My mouth was too lazy to argue with the Russian man who was with me.

Syden is really stubborn, if he wants to, it will be difficult to stop him. I saw Syden take out his cell phone from his trouser pocket.

"I want to call your parents and tell them both that you refuse to have lunch with me even though we are officially husband and wife and you are pregnant with my child. How about it, Adiba, my dear wife?"

I remained silent when I saw Syden, my husband, who called my parents in Pakistan. I just listened to him reporting to my parents. Syden immediately gave me his cell phone. I heard my mother's soft, motherly voice.

"Adiba, your father and mother's favorite beautiful child, Syden, your husband said you refused to eat lunch. Remember, a wife must serve her husband well, especially if you are pregnant"Come on, Adiba, don't be so hard against your husband who has good intentions asking you to have lunch together, remember that there is a child entrusted by Allah in your womb, Adiba, my daughter."

"Yes mom ".

I returned the cellphone to Syden's hand, my husband immediately turned it off, put it back in his trouser pocket. I let him hug my shoulder rather than complain to my mother again. Syden laughed happily, telling stories about things he thought were funny but I still ignored the story, it didn't matter what story I wanted to tell... I was too lazy to hear it.

"Let's just eat here, dear Adiba."

Syden pointed to the restaurant in front, we entered the restaurant and sat near the entrance. A waiter brought a list of food menus to us.

I was too lazy to choose the food and drink menu, I gave the food menu list into Syden's hands.

"Syden is the one who chooses the food menu, Adiba is too lazy to choose. Hurry up and choose, it's a shame the waiter is standing around waiting for so long."

Syden looked at me, choosing several food and drink menus. I glanced at the smiling waiter, took the food menu list and then left us.

"Dear Adiba, your attitude is very strange. What's the problem?"

Before I had time to answer Syden's question, suddenly someone said hello...

"Mr. Syden...".

We turned to where the voice that greeted us turned out to be a husband and wife smiling kindly. Syden immediately stood up from his seat.

"Mr. xavier ... Come join us ".

The husband and wife walked towards us.

"This is Adiba, my wife, she is pregnant with our first child."

I stood up, smiling at them.

"Your wife is very beautiful even though she is pregnant, Mr. Syden."

The four of us sat down, Syden called the waiter who was standing near the cashier's desk. After writing the food order, the waiter left our table.

"Mrs. Syden, this is Carmen, my wife."

We chatted while waiting for the food and drinks we ordered. Thank God, not long after, 2 waiters came with food and drink orders. I whispered to the waiter...

"Please wrap it like this so we can take it home later."

The waiter smiled kindly and nodded. The four of us were enjoying eating. After eating we were still talking. Syden's cell phone rang, Syden was heard answering the phone..

"Yes, ma'am. We'll be home in a minute."

Syden closed his cell phone while saying....

"My wife, Adiba, has been my mother's favorite since we were not married until now, especially now that she is pregnant with the first grandchild for my mother and my late father. My mother's attention and affection for her is increasing."

Mrs. Xavier smiled, touching my cheek...

"Robbing your husband's heart is easy but robbing your in-laws' heart is difficult."

We laughed at Mrs. Xavier .

"Mrs. Xavier, Adiba hasn't stolen my mother's heart but my mother has given her heart to Adiba. My mother just called me

asked why Adiba wasn't home yet. Mrs. "Xavier, my mother loves Adiba more than she loves me."

Mr and Mrs . Xavier burst into laughter. I just smiled, I answered softly..

"My mother is far away in Pakistan, automatically I am always close to Syden's mother who sincerely considers me as a child rather than a daughter-in-law because she doesn't have a daughter."

Mrs Xavier hugged me..

"You are really gentle, it's fitting that your mother-in-law loves you, Mrs. Syden."

"Thank you, Mrs. Xavier."

Syden stood up...

"I'll go to the cashier first."

After paying at the cashier, Syden returned to our table. Mr and Mrs Xavier said goodbye.

"Thank you for this lunch, then tomorrow at 7 pm you have to have dinner at our house."

Mrs . Xavier stroked my stomach.

"I want to cook delicious food for this little one too."

"Thank you for your sincerity, Mrs. Xavier."

The four of us walked out of the restaurant. Syden kissed my forehead..

"We're shopping for baby supplies, dear Adiba."

"Adiba wants to rest at home, tired from walking all day, Syden."

Mrs Xavier stroked my stomach.

"Mr. Syden, I once had a miscarriage when I was 5 months pregnant because of too much activity, tiredness, lack of rest. It's a good idea, Mrs. Syden, not to get tired, Mr. Syden."

Syden was surprised...

"Yes, Mrs. Xavier. We'll postpone shopping for baby supplies for now."

I stood at my mother's open grave in the freezing rain, my heels sinking into the mud. The space beside me was empty. My husband, Hilliard Holloway, had promised to cherish me in bad times, but apparently, burying my mother didn't fit into his busy schedule. While the priest's voice droned on, a news alert lit up my phone. It was a livestream of the Metropolitan Charity Gala. There was Hilliard, looking impeccable in a custom tuxedo, with his ex-girlfriend Charla English draped over his arm. The headline read: "Holloway & English: A Power Couple Reunited?" When he finally returned to our penthouse at 2 AM, he didn't come alone-he brought Charla with him. He claimed she'd had a "medical emergency" at the gala and couldn't be left alone. I found a Tiffany diamond necklace on our coffee table meant for her birthday, and a smudge of her signature red lipstick on his collar. When I confronted him, he simply told me to stop being "hysterical" and "acting like a child." He had no idea I was seven months pregnant with his child. He thought so little of my grief that he didn't even bother to craft a convincing lie, laughing with his mistress in our home while I sat in the dark with a shattered heart and a secret life growing inside me. "He doesn't deserve us," I whispered to the darkness. I didn't scream or beg. I simply left a folder on his desk containing signed divorce papers and a forged medical report for a terminated pregnancy. I disappeared into the night, letting him believe he had successfully killed his own legacy through his neglect. Five years later, Hilliard walked into "The Vault," the city's most exclusive underground auction, looking for a broker to manage his estate. He didn't recognize me behind my Venetian mask, but he couldn't ignore the neon pink graffiti on his armored Maybach that read "DEADBEAT." He had no clue that the three brilliant triplets currently hacking his security system were the very children he thought had been erased years ago. This time, I wasn't just a wife in the way; I was the one holding all the cards.

My bank account showed exactly $42.18, and my student loan notifications were flashing red. I lived in a sweltering Queens apartment with my Aunt Lydia, where the air was thick with the smell of stale frying oil and the constant threat of being homeless. Lydia handed me a grainy photo of a man twice my age and told me she had already "sold" me to him. He was a dry cleaner looking for a wife, and in exchange for my hand, he would pay off her credit cards and my debt. If I didn't show up for the date that night, my boxes would be on the curb by midnight. I arrived at the cafe in a state of panic, my selective mutism making it impossible to even breathe. In the crowded room, I accidentally sat at the wrong table. Instead of the man from the photo, I found myself facing Gerhard Holcomb—the cold, terrifyingly handsome billionaire whose family owned the very museum where I worked. He didn't send me away; instead, he studied my trembling hands and offered me a different deal: a two-year contract marriage, a two-million-dollar payout, and a strict clause forbidding any children. I signed the papers and moved into his Park Avenue penthouse, thinking I was finally safe. But when I went back to the old apartment to retrieve the only memento of my dead parents, Lydia lashed out, leaving me bleeding from a head wound. Gerhard’s retaliation was absolute—he had her arrested and her building foreclosed on within hours, claiming he was simply "protecting his assets." As I recovered in his silent, glass-walled home, I saw a call from a famous socialite flash on his phone, and a cold truth settled in my gut. I wasn't just a wife; I was a placeholder, a silent shield used to fend off the women from his past. I looked at the massive pink diamond on my finger and realized the silence I had lived in my whole life was about to become my most expensive prison. I had traded a life of poverty for a high-stakes game of shadows, and now I had to survive the man who claimed to own me.

I arrived at the hotel with Julian's favorite takeout, ready to surprise my fiancé before our big merger. But the moment I swiped the keycard, the silence of the hallway felt heavy and wrong. Inside, a red-soled stiletto lay on the marble floor-the same one I'd watched my best friend Lila try on at Saks last week. Through the cracked bedroom door, I watched Julian's back arch as Lila looked me straight in the eye and smiled, wrapping her legs tighter around him to mock my heartbreak. I fled to the penthouse to hide, only to find Grafton, Julian's "crippled" brother, waiting in the dark. To my horror, the man who was supposed to be paralyzed stood up from his wheelchair, gripped my chin with cold fingers, and forced me to sign a contract that gave him control of my family's shares. He knew about my mother's secret medical bills and used them to buy my silence, effectively turning my life into a calculated game of corporate chess. The betrayal tasted like acid, and the injustice of it all burned in my throat. My fiancé was a liar, my best friend was a thief, and the man now controlling my fate was a predator who had been faking his disability for years. I couldn't understand how everyone I trusted had turned out to be a monster. I was trapped between a man who cheated on me and a man who wanted to own me, with no way out and no one to turn to. But when Julian came looking for me, Grafton didn't hide; he stood tall, looming over me with a possessive glint in his eyes. "Help me destroy Julian," I rasped, realizing that to survive the Faulkner men, I had to become the most dangerous player of them all.

SHANA GRAY

The sterile white of the operating room blurred, then sharpened, as Skye Sterling felt the cold clawing its way up her body. The heart monitor flatlined, a steady, high-pitched whine announcing her end. Her uterus had been removed, a desperate attempt to stop the bleeding, but the blood wouldn't clot. It just kept flowing, warm and sticky, pooling beneath her. Through heavy eyes, she saw a trembling nurse holding a phone on speaker. "Mr. Kensington," the nurse's voice cracked, "your wife... she's critical." A pause, then a sweet, poisonous giggle. Seraphina Miller. "Liam is in the shower," Seraphina's voice purred. "Stop calling, Skye. It's pathetic. Faking a medical emergency on our anniversary? Even for you, that's low." Then, Liam's bored voice: "If she dies, call the funeral home. I have a meeting in the morning." Click. The line went dead. A second later, so did Skye. The darkness that followed was absolute, suffocating, a black ocean crushing her lungs. She screamed into the void, a silent, agonizing wail of regret for loving a man who saw her as a nuisance, for dying without ever truly living. Until she died, she didn't understand. Why was her life so tragically wasted? Why did her husband, the man she loved, abandon her so cruelly? The injustice of it all burned hotter than the fever in her body. Then, the air rushed back in. Skye gasped, her body convulsing violently on the mattress. Her eyes flew open, wide and terrified, staring blindly into the darkness. Her trembling hand reached for her phone. May 12th. Five years ago. She was back.
