"I never thought you would trap me, taking advantage of me to have a child." Henry humiliated Regina in public with insults that put her in a difficult situation. He also forced her into a contract marriage, dragging her into even more trouble. For the sake of that child, she is willing to endure it all. Little does Regina know, the child who has been her light all this time is hiding something unexpected.

Forced Marriage With CEO Because of An Unexpected Child Chapter 1 Battle of Rivals

""This decision is unacceptable!" yelled a lady's voice loudly in the meeting hall. Regina, a beautiful lady with dark eyes, didn't agree with the unfair decision against her.

She couldn't believe she lost to her rival company. She didn't want them to pick the company led by someone she hated to win the hotel project. Regina felt cheated. ""CEO Kim, didn't you consider that Grace Company's offer was better than Jian Company's? Why did you choose CEO Jian instead? Wasn't our agreement from the beginning?"

"Questioning a client's decision is highly unprofessional, Miss Tan." The man, Henry Miller Jian, responded sharply. He exuded authority with his immaculate appearance-neatly styled soft black hair, a handsome face with a firm jawline, fair skin, thick eyebrows, and sharp almond-shaped brown eyes. His demeanor exuded superiority, and a smirk played at the corners of his lips. " "However, understandable. You're new to the business world."

Regina glared at him, her eyes sharp and brimming with loathing. Her slender, graceful hand clenched into a tight fist. "Calm down! "Stay calm! I can't let this guy see me lose it. I won't give him the satisfaction of getting under my skin."

Regina's fists trembled with suppressed rage. She bit her lip, struggling to find the right words, but her anger choked her voice. Reluctantly, she conceded defeat to her rival. With a heavy heart, Regina turned on her heel and walked away, her steps echoing through the hall. As she passed by, she felt the weight of judgmental stares and heard the whispers of mockery, turning her into a target of scorn.

"Right from the start, it's been clear Mr. Jian's gonna win. And let's face it, no company would give this gig to a woman. It's easier to take the L from Mr. Jian than from a woman like the Grace-Tan Family's daughter."

Regina briefly glanced at the man who ridiculed her. She clenched her teeth tightly, suppressing her anger like a volcano on the verge of eruption. It wasn't the first time she'd been compared to Henry. Despite the influential status of both the Grace-Tan and Jian families in the investment industry, Henry's consistent dominance over her led to Regina being looked down upon. Regina's hatred for Henry intensified, fueled by his constant superiority. It simmered within her, a growing ember of resentment.

"CEO Tan, are you going without extending your congratulations?" Henry stepped in front of Regina, blocking her way. His smile, once again, irritated her to no end.

"Congratulations to you, CEO Jian, for your victory achieved through deceit," Regina said with a fake smile.

"Deceit? I understand you may harbor feelings of jealousy, but accusing me of deceit amounts to slander." Henry spoke sharply.

"If not deceit, then what? You weren't initially considered for this project, yet suddenly you emerge victorious in the tender process. Considering your existing portfolio of significant projects, why pursue this one?"

"Certainly, it's insufficient until I secure the significant project you covet and witness the expression of defeat upon your countenance." Henry flashed a smile.

"Is it truly gratifying to take it away from me?" Regina fought to contain her anger.

"Yes, immensely gratifying. Witnessing your defeat brings me joy. Aren't you accustomed to losing to me? Whether in the past or present, being subordinate to me is the rightful place for a woman." Henry's voice grew louder, prompting those around to laugh mockingly at Regina.

"Henry Miller Jian, you may take pride in this victory for now, but rest assured, there will come a time when you cannot hold your head high due to shame," Regina declared with sharpness in her voice.

Henry laughed instead. ""I'll wait for you to embarrass me,"

Regina clenched her hands tightly. She wanted to punch that arrogant face, but she had to maintain her image. She had no choice but to turn and leave, putting an end to it all.

Out of nowhere, Henry tossed something that struck Regina's back. She spun around and spotted an invitation lying on the floor. "You want this, right? I got it for you," he said.

"Why are you giving it to me? What are you planning?" Regina looked at him suspiciously.

Henry took it and placed it in Regina's palm. "Just accept it. No need to ask too much. Who knows, you might want to repay me." Henry quickly left the room. Regina stared at the invitation for quite some time.

Regina, dressed in a dark blue evening gown that showcased her beautiful shoulders, arrived at the party alone. Unconsciously, her gaze fell on Henry.

Regina immediately turned away. "Why do I gotta run into him again? Bet he's gonna make fun of me." Nothing good happened whenever they met. Regina wanted to avoid trouble. It's better to go as far away as possible.

Just as she was about to leave, a boy inadvertently caught her attention. He looked familiar. Regina's eyes kept following him. The kid stood in front of Henry, who was by himself. "Daddy!"

From a distance, Regina watched the man's face closely. It was clear that his typically steady gaze faltered, indicating surprise. Without thinking, she found herself walking towards the group of people surrounding Henry.

"Who are you calling daddy? I don't have a child!" Henry said firmly, his expression turning cold again.

"Daddy, I'm Kevin Chares Jian, don't you know me? I'm really your son. And I have your last name too!" The kid kept trying. He looked at Henry with hopeful eyes, full of innocence.

"Am I the only one who has the Jian family name? Look for another Jian!" Henry responded flatly.

Regina felt pity for the child. She quickly said something that made everyone look at her. "CEO Jian, is it so difficult to acknowledge your illegitimate child in front of everyone? Look, the child looks so much like you, yet you still want to deny it?"

Henry stared at the woman standing among the crowd of guests, with a sharp gaze. His face flushed with anger, "Regina Grace Tan! This is your doing, isn't it?" he said sharply. "Is this what you said back then to get back at me? Just because you lost."

Regina couldn't accept it, "What? I'm not that low. You're just using me to cover up your sins. You're the one who has a child, why vent it out on me?"

The boy suddenly said something shocking after staring at Regina for so long. "Mom, don't be mad at Dad!"

The word 'Mom' caught everyone's attention. They were more surprised by what the boy said next.

The boy who claimed to be Kevin ran and held Regina's hand. "Mom, let's go home together." His clear round eyes looked at her gently, a gaze unfamiliar to Regina.

I went to the City Clerk’s office for a routine copy of my marriage license to finalize a trust fund audit. I expected a simple piece of paper, but the clerk’s pitying look told me my entire life was a lie. "The license was never finalized, Ms. Oliver. In the eyes of the state, you are single." The three-hundred-guest wedding at the Plaza and the Vogue features meant nothing. My husband, Gray Cooley, had intentionally filed the documents with a "procedural defect" so he could discard me without a legal divorce. Moments later, an iCloud invite titled "Our Little Secret" popped up on my screen. It was a photo of my best friend, Brylee, holding a positive pregnancy test at our Hamptons estate. Gray’s text to her was the final blow: "Happy anniversary, babe. This baby is the best gift. Once the trust unlocks today, we’re done with the charade." I soon discovered they were even stealing my career, reassigning my architectural masterpiece to Brylee while preparing my eviction notice. Gray's mother called me a "barren mule" in a leaked recording, mocking the infertility I suffered after saving Gray’s life in a construction accident. I wasn't a wife; I was a three-year placeholder used to secure his inheritance. How could the man I bled for treat me like a disposable prop? How could my best friend carry his child while pretending to comfort me through my darkest moments? The betrayal burned until it turned into a cold, hard stone of fury. I didn't cry. Instead, I walked into the penthouse of the Barretts, the Cooleys' most powerful rivals. I signed a marriage contract with Kane Barrett, the man the tabloids called the "Beast of Wall Street." "I want a wedding," I told his father, my voice steady and lethal. "Bigger than the one I had with Gray." If they wanted me gone, they would have to watch me become the woman who owns their world.

Today is October 14th, my birthday. I returned to New York after months away, dragging my suitcase through the biting wind, but the VIP pickup zone where my husband’s Maybach usually idled was empty. When I finally let myself into our Upper East Side penthouse, I didn’t find a cake or a "welcome home" banner. Instead, I found my husband, Caden, kneeling on the floor, helping our five-year-old daughter wrap a massive gift for my half-sister, Adalynn. Caden didn’t even look up when I walked in; he was too busy laughing with the girl who had already stolen my father’s legacy and was now moving in on my family. "Auntie Addie is a million times better than Mommy," my daughter Elara chirped, clutching a plush toy Caden had once forbidden me from buying for her. "Mommy is mean," she whispered loudly, while Caden just smirked, calling me a "drill sergeant" before whisking her off to Adalynn’s party without a second glance. Later that night, I saw a video Adalynn posted online where my husband and child laughed while mocking my "sensitive" nature, treating me like an inconvenient ghost in my own home. I had spent five years researching nutrition for Elara’s health and managing every detail of Caden’s empire, only to be discarded the moment I wasn't in the room. How could the man who set his safe combination to my birthday completely forget I even existed? The realization didn't break me; it turned me into ice. I didn't scream or beg for an explanation. I simply walked into the study, pulled out the divorce papers I’d drafted months ago, and took a black marker to the terms. I crossed out the alimony, the mansion, and even the custody clause—if they wanted a life without me, I would give them exactly what they asked for. I left my four-carat diamond ring on the console table and walked out into the rain with nothing but a heavily encrypted hard drive. The submissive Mrs. Holloway was gone, and "Ghost," the most lethal architect in the tech world, was finally back online to take back everything they thought I’d forgotten.

I had just survived a private jet crash, my body a map of violet bruises and my lungs still burning from the smoke. I woke up in a sterile hospital room, gasping for my husband's name, only to realize I was completely alone. While I was bleeding in a ditch, my husband, Adam, was on the news smiling at a ribbon-cutting ceremony. When I tracked him down at the hospital's VIP wing, I didn't find a grieving husband. I found him tenderly cradling his ex-girlfriend, Casie, in his arms, his face lit with a protective warmth he had never shown me as he carried her into the maternity ward. The betrayal went deeper than I could have imagined. Adam admitted the affair started on our third anniversary-the night he claimed he was stuck in London for a merger. Back at the manor, his mother had already filled our planned nursery with pink boutique bags for Casie's "little princess." When I demanded a divorce, Adam didn't flinch. He sneered that I was "gutter trash" from a foster home and that I'd be begging on the streets within a week. To trap me, he froze my bank accounts, cancelled my flight, and even called the police to report me for "theft" of company property. I realized then that I wasn't his partner; I was a charity case he had plucked from obscurity to manage his life. To the Hortons, I was just a servant who happened to sleep in the master bedroom, a "resilient" woman meant to endure his abuse in silence while the whole world laughed at the joke that was my marriage. Adam thought stripping me of his money would make me crawl back to him. He was wrong. I walked into his executive suite during his biggest deal of the year and poured a mug of sludge over his original ten-million-dollar contracts. Then, right in front of his board and his mistress, I stripped off every designer thread he had ever paid for until I was standing in nothing but my own silk camisole. "You can keep the clothes, Adam. They're as hollow as you are." I grabbed my passport, turned my back on his billions, and walked out of that glass tower barefoot, bleeding, and finally free.

I was sitting in the Presidential Suite of The Pierre, wearing a Vera Wang gown worth more than most people earn in a decade. It was supposed to be the wedding of the century, the final move to merge two of Manhattan's most powerful empires. Then my phone buzzed. It was an Instagram Story from my fiancé, Jameson. He was at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris with a caption that read: "Fuck the chains. Chasing freedom." He hadn't just gotten cold feet; he had abandoned me at the altar to run across the world. My father didn't come in to comfort me. He burst through the door roaring about a lost acquisition deal, telling me the Holland Group would strip our family for parts if the ceremony didn't happen by noon. My stepmother wailed about us becoming the laughingstock of the Upper East Side. The Holland PR director even suggested I fake a "panic attack" to make myself look weak and sympathetic to save their stock price. Then Jameson’s sleazy cousin, Pierce, walked in with a lopsided grin, offering to "step in" and marry me just to get his hands on my assets. I looked at them and realized I wasn't a daughter or a bride to anyone in that room. I was a failed asset, a bouncing check, a girl whose own father told her to go to Paris and "beg" the man who had just publicly humiliated her. The girl who wanted to be loved died in that mirror. I realized that if I was going to be sold to save a merger, I was going to sell myself to the one who actually controlled the money. I marched past my parents and walked straight into the VIP holding room. I looked the most powerful man in the room—Jameson’s cold, ruthless uncle, Fletcher Holland—dead in the eye and threw the iPad on the table. "Jameson is gone," I said, my voice as hard as stone. "Marry me instead."
