The Dark Genesis Chapter 1 Prologue: North Dakota, 2025

From my sleep I hear screeches of cars, I take to my heels as I rush downstairs, I flip my cotton of Gold and engraved leaf in dark brown to count about 6 cars, Ford, and an heavily armed Hillux truck as armed men hopped out of them, I count 10 men in sight.

"Holy shittt" I say as I rush upstairs to wake my girl, ~shit!, she's not here~

I manage to dial a number real quick as I shout "Mi querida" she prolly left early before day break, I sigh a relief.

_"Hello" says from the other end of the line

_"Mom, I'm sorry...They are here" I say rapidly

_"Don't, Ola, you can keep running, don't do this" she says sobbing.

damnn, I love it when she calls me "Ola".

_"I'm sorry mom.. I've gotta go!!" I end the call as I rush downstairs.

"Krrrrr" I hear from behind my doors,

"Damnn, I know that sound" I throw myself to the floor as bullets flies and dance in the air, glass shatters, woods splatters and foams seems to be happy of their new freedom from my cushions and pillows as they dance in the air.

At once, the shooting stops.

I manage to crawl as I hear thuds of footsteps behind me, I secretly place my grip on the bomb denotor I have been keeping for this exact moment, a small remote like device.

"Woah whoah whoah, what do we have here?" He says as he stands and has his legs widen over me, his well muscled chest and arms popping out as an effect of the gun he carries, A 7.92mm, German MG34, I recognize the gun, his face, oblong, dark skin, A black man, his eyes black and height I bet is 6"9, He prolly in his late 20s.

He grins at me as he says "cat got your tongue?"

_"Let hope it got more than just my tongue"

_"whoah.... He speaks, come pick him up," he signals to one of his minions, He comes to me with an AK47 as he tries to pick me up.

I headbutt him as fast as I could with the rush of Adrenaline, I stand to my feet.

"See y'all in Hell!!!" I say out loud as I press the only button centered on my Bomb detonator hoping to bomb us all.

"Ka Boomm," he mimics as he throws his arms in the air and down to play dead, his minions all burst out laughing.

I keep pressing the goddamn button as sweat seems to be pouring out on me.

Three of his minions drag me to a cushion as I get tied up, I get a three or four or five blows landing on my face and stomach but who cares about how many punches I can take.

"Does anyone else notice it's too warm here" I say.

"Shut up" he says as he lands a slap on my face. My head seems like it is hit with a rod and my ear rings like my eardrums went on a carol vacation.

"Looking for this?" A lady's voice I hear briefly, I am yet to gain my hearings fully and my eyes turn blurry.

Her legs, the rhythmic sound of her pointy heels shoes as they kiss the broken and shatter glasses and woods on the floor. Her thighs are visible, I slowly take my head up as she walks to me.

"Holy shit!!! Mi querida?" I look puzzled, my soul sinks and my heart hurts, I grasp for breathe, Fear runs through my spine as tears voluntarily stroll out of my eyes, my heart breaks.

She holds on a replica of my detonator.

"You looking for this?"

_"No, this can't be happening"

_"it is, Darling" she says as she smiles,

Her face radiant like always, her brows well in place, her hazel eyes, pierced nose and her set of teeths beautiful, with a blonde wig on her head that seems like her hair curled up to her neck, a 5'7, yellow skin, petite and a Nigerian same as Me.

"Hybrid, My dear, it is over," She says as she bends over to me revealing her "take my soul" cleavage, in these tied and heartbroken pace, I probably would do anything to have her cleavages to my face.

I try to speak but words aren't making out, it feels like my vocal got a day off.

"Ple..as..e, this isn't re..al," I manage to say in pain.

"It is!" she lands a kiss to my cheek and rises to him, she hugs him and they go all French kiss.

He holds her closer as he carries her, putting his hands on her ass like they were her pad.

"No ooo ooo," I shout

"Not the Nyansh" I plead

"Sleeping time" He says singing in the middle of the kiss.

One of his minions in a Camo jean and a brown coloured Timberland shoes, the shoes trended a year ago and a singlet with a mask on his face walks up to me and says "Goodnight"

_"Idiot, it's prolly 1pm or something," I revert back to him.

He raises his gun and gestures to hit me with the bottom.

Today is October 14th, my birthday. I returned to New York after months away, dragging my suitcase through the biting wind, but the VIP pickup zone where my husband's Maybach usually idled was empty. When I finally let myself into our Upper East Side penthouse, I didn't find a cake or a "welcome home" banner. Instead, I found my husband, Caden, kneeling on the floor, helping our five-year-old daughter wrap a massive gift for my half-sister, Adalynn. Caden didn't even look up when I walked in; he was too busy laughing with the girl who had already stolen my father's legacy and was now moving in on my family. "Auntie Addie is a million times better than Mommy," my daughter Elara chirped, clutching a plush toy Caden had once forbidden me from buying for her. "Mommy is mean," she whispered loudly, while Caden just smirked, calling me a "drill sergeant" before whisking her off to Adalynn's party without a second glance. Later that night, I saw a video Adalynn posted online where my husband and child laughed while mocking my "sensitive" nature, treating me like an inconvenient ghost in my own home. I had spent five years researching nutrition for Elara's health and managing every detail of Caden's empire, only to be discarded the moment I wasn't in the room. How could the man who set his safe combination to my birthday completely forget I even existed? The realization didn't break me; it turned me into ice. I didn't scream or beg for an explanation. I simply walked into the study, pulled out the divorce papers I'd drafted months ago, and took a black marker to the terms. I crossed out the alimony, the mansion, and even the custody clause-if they wanted a life without me, I would give them exactly what they asked for. I left my four-carat diamond ring on the console table and walked out into the rain with nothing but a heavily encrypted hard drive. The submissive Mrs. Holloway was gone, and "Ghost," the most lethal architect in the tech world, was finally back online to take back everything they thought I'd forgotten.

The rain in Detroit was slick with grime when my family finally came to fetch me. They didn't want a reunion; they wanted a sacrificial lamb to marry into the Kaufman empire to save their failing business. I thought I was just being sold off, but the limo ride ended under a dark overpass where six hired thugs were waiting with chains. My own sister had ordered them to "break my spirit" so I’d be a shaking, pathetic mess by the time I reached the altar. They called me "Detroit trash" and sprayed air freshener when I sat on their leather seats. My stepmother wanted a video of me begging for my life, and my father was ready to trade me like a used car to a man everyone called a "vegetable." They expected a submissive country girl, unaware that I was a high-level "cleaner" who could snap a radius bone before they could even scream. When I finally reached the Kaufman estate, I found my fiancé, Barron, slumped in a wheelchair, drooling and silent. But as soon as the doors closed, the "invalid" grabbed my wrist with a grip of iron and whispered a command that changed everything. I didn't understand why my own blood was so desperate to see me destroyed. What had I ever done to deserve a hit squad and a forced marriage to a man they thought was a corpse? But Barron isn't a vegetable, and I'm not a victim. We just touched down at the Moon family gala in a matte-black helicopter, and as the doors slide open, the "broken" bride is about to show them exactly what happens when you throw away the wrong daughter. "If we're going to crash a party," Barron whispered, his eyes burning with lethal clarity, "we should make an entrance."

I went to the City Clerk’s office for a routine copy of my marriage license to finalize a trust fund audit. I expected a simple piece of paper, but the clerk’s pitying look told me my entire life was a lie. "The license was never finalized, Ms. Oliver. In the eyes of the state, you are single." The three-hundred-guest wedding at the Plaza and the Vogue features meant nothing. My husband, Gray Cooley, had intentionally filed the documents with a "procedural defect" so he could discard me without a legal divorce. Moments later, an iCloud invite titled "Our Little Secret" popped up on my screen. It was a photo of my best friend, Brylee, holding a positive pregnancy test at our Hamptons estate. Gray’s text to her was the final blow: "Happy anniversary, babe. This baby is the best gift. Once the trust unlocks today, we’re done with the charade." I soon discovered they were even stealing my career, reassigning my architectural masterpiece to Brylee while preparing my eviction notice. Gray's mother called me a "barren mule" in a leaked recording, mocking the infertility I suffered after saving Gray’s life in a construction accident. I wasn't a wife; I was a three-year placeholder used to secure his inheritance. How could the man I bled for treat me like a disposable prop? How could my best friend carry his child while pretending to comfort me through my darkest moments? The betrayal burned until it turned into a cold, hard stone of fury. I didn't cry. Instead, I walked into the penthouse of the Barretts, the Cooleys' most powerful rivals. I signed a marriage contract with Kane Barrett, the man the tabloids called the "Beast of Wall Street." "I want a wedding," I told his father, my voice steady and lethal. "Bigger than the one I had with Gray." If they wanted me gone, they would have to watch me become the woman who owns their world.

I sat on the edge of the examination table, the crinkle of the sanitary paper sounding like thunder in the sterile room. The doctor didn't even look at me as he confirmed the news: the pregnancy was over. My husband, Keyon, didn't answer my call. He just sent an automated text: "In a meeting." When I returned to our cold mansion, I found his iPad glowing with a message from his "muse," Katina. He was throwing her a secret gala tonight-on our third wedding anniversary. He told her he couldn't wait to escape the "boring" and "draining" atmosphere I created at home. Keyon didn't stumble in until 3 AM, smelling of Katina's perfume with a smear of red on his collar. When I handed him the divorce papers, he laughed in my face. He called me a "glorified housekeeper" with no skills and no future, promising I'd be back in three days begging for a subway ticket. He even bet his friends ten thousand dollars that I wouldn't survive a week without his name. He had his assistant cancel my credit cards and block my gate access before I even reached the end of the driveway. He wanted me to starve. He wanted me to crawl. He sat in his office, mocking the "desperate" woman who pawned her three-million-dollar wedding ring for scrap metal just to pay for a meal. I stood on the rainy curb, watching the man I had protected for three years treat my life like trash. He didn't know about the ultrasound I just threw in the bin. He didn't know that while he was calling me "dull," I was the one secretly writing the code that kept his billion-dollar empire from collapsing. As I slid into a cheap Uber, I opened a hidden, encrypted app on my phone. The screen refreshed to a dashboard for an account Keyon didn't know existed. The balance was ten figures long-the accumulated wealth of "Solaris," the world's most elusive tech genius. Keyon thinks he just evicted a parasite, but he's about to find out he just declared war on the only person who can hit "delete" on his entire life.
