Chapter 1 The unexpected

"Oh my god!" Roseline did you just...? Staggering to find a place to hold balance, He reached out for the stripping pole in the middle of their room, with his hands covering his eyes. She had used pepper spray on him. "What would you have me do?! Stand and watch you kill him just like you killed Drew"? And then? You would give me out to the cops? I would be detained for what you did? Just because you are a public figure and can't tamper with your reputation?! Roseline screamed with rage.

Damian and Rose had been married for 3 years with no kids as Damian said he was not ready for children's tantrums. Roseline, being a housewife, wanted children so dearly, she was tired of being alone in the big mansion where she wasn't allowed to do anything as servants were everywhere in the house. Only thing she does is eat, bathe and stay in her room waiting on a knock and at the same time hoping it won't come. because it's always a call from Damian for entertainment. It was more like being a hostage. She felt like a prisoner in her own husband's house. She was helpless as she had no one to call on. Many times she had begged Damian to allow her visit her father but to no avail and whenever she tried to elude, she would turn back at the gate as the mansion was heavily guarded. No one dared disobey Damian, not even his sisters who stopped visiting after he embarrassed them in front of the gardener. They had taken Rose to a wedding ceremony that day, at first she didn't want to go for the fear of being punished but joined them after they gave her more than enough reasons to go with them, "he won't kill us, would he? " Aria asked," Moreover, we are his sisters" Ariana added. It was the wedding of the famous singer Jeff Larry. Only celebrities and families with class were invited, and the family of Shaun Cody (Damian's father) was on the list. Rose felt life inside of her again, she pinched herself to be sure it wasn't a dream. It's been 3 years since she last saw the outside walls of the mansion. She enjoyed every moment of the evening and wished night wouldn't come, but just as the day breaketh, darkness caught up. She thanked the two sisters endlessly in the car as they drove back home, they had planned to get home before their vicious brother but unluckily, the six feet dude was home already. "Where did you take her to"? After a long pause came the voice again but this time, more hoarse and terrifying, " where did you take Rose to!? "We went to a wedding, it's Jeff Larry's wedding Damian, our family was invited. Mother is away on vacation with Dad so she asked us to represent our family. Aria explained. "Is Rose a member of the Shaun family? He asked in a faint voice, knowing the question wasn't necessary but still asked. The two twins were as confused as Rose so they kept mute. Because he had married Rose at his own will even though their parents never approved of it, They never expected their son to marry a commoner. Damian flared at their silence not minding the servant present, then ordered Rose to go in and sent his sisters away. That night He beat her up mercilessly and played deaf to her helpless cries and sobs. He has come home from one of his endless trips and found his wife who he had already pictured on the strip pole wearing the fluorescent lingerie he picked for the weekend while he spanks her not to entice her but to his satisfaction with a man in his house. Not just any man but Rey, the same dude he thought was long dead. Shocked and agitated, he dashed at Rey with a pen knife only to be intercepted by his wife. He stood bewildered. "Come on, let's go", Rey beckoned to her. "I'm sorry Damian, I can't just let you kill him". Although we are married, I love him. He has been helping me while you are away, you can't just kill him Damian. "I love you but, I deserve better" Roseline said while heading out with Rey, her eyes brimmed with tears. Damian paced around the room trying to locate the bathroom using his instinct. Luckily, he touched the bathroom door handle, with his grip tightened around it, he opened the bathroom then reached for the sink. With the water rushing, he washed his eyes. "Should I go after her"? Or send men instead? How about my profile? "I don't want to be seen running after a common woman with a low reputation, it would surely stir questions from the media and I'm not ready for such a mess. No not now". Different thoughts run through his mind as he heads to his master bedroom, where he spends most of his time scheming. He sat down on one of the armchairs a little far from the gigantic neatly arranged bed in the spacious room painted chocolate brown with a luminous chandelier. Being a drug addict, he brought out some stuff from his pocket, poured it in a tea cup on the table, then in one gulp, he drank it all. "She can't just leave me, not after everything I did for her and her worthless father? She will return", he told himself. Roseline, daughter of Mr Austin, a retired pensioner, had just finished college and work 2 jobs in order to meet up with their expenditure. She swore to buy back the house which they 'd sold out to an unknown buyer. She worked in the Red Roof Hotel as a receptionist to support her dad. With her mom long dead, and her sister Susan out of the state, Roseline took it upon herself to take care of her sick father.
