While she was dreaming of marrying him, he forced her away to another country for the sake of another woman, even promising to marry the other woman. When their paths crossed once more, she aimed to maintain her distance from him, yet he ensnared her within his web of affection. Later on, in an interview involving both, she was prompted to commend her husband. "Besides being pushy and shameless, it appears he lacks any redeeming qualities," she remarked, turning towards the man next to her to query, "What do you think?" The audience was aghast, wishing they could vanish instantly. Unexpectedly, the CEO, known for his stern and icy demeanor, remained serene and offered a gentle smile, responding, "Everything my wife said is right."

The CEO's Priceless Bride Chapter 1 Pain

It was agonizing.

Daniela Pearson felt as if a car had run her over, pain radiating through her entire body.

When her eyes fluttered open, a good-looking face was right in front of her.

She was stunned.

Why was Kevin Bradley here?

Daniela was horrified to realize that after being drugged the previous night, she had ended up in Kevin's room and...

As she looked at Kevin, once the object of her deepest affections and now her worst nightmare, memories of the past three years flooded back.

Three years ago, for his sweetheart's sake, Kevin threatened her with her brother and mother, forcing her to move overseas.

Her brother had disappeared in the process of looking for her.

Three years passed; her mother's health, already frail from a car accident, had worsened, compelling her to return to the place she detested.

Yet, Daniela hadn't anticipated that within days of her return, she would find herself in bed again with Kevin, the man who had haunted her thoughts all these years.

Her feelings towards Kevin were now tinged more with fear than hate.

If he woke up and found her naked in his embrace...

Fearful of what might follow, Daniela's first instinct was to run away.

She attempted to free herself from Kevin's arms carefully.

However, the moment she moved a little, Kevin's eyes snapped open. He grabbed her neck and pinned her beneath him.

He looked down at her with a ruthless expression, filled with undisguised sarcasm and disgust.

"Daniela, you just couldn't wait to sleep with me, could you?"

Sleep with him?

She hadn't even planned to see him upon her return, much less this.

Daniela met Kevin's gaze and retorted with a forced smile, "Mr. Bradley, I came to the hotel with my fiance yesterday, but now here I am with you. If anything, I'm the one being taken advantage of. I haven't even confronted you about it. Why the anger?"

Indeed, she and her fiance, whom her father had arranged for her, had checked into the hotel together. Her father and her sister, Katherine Pearson, had drugged her in a ploy to force them into having sex.

Daniela mused bitterly about how Katherine would react if she knew her scheme had thrown her most despised sibling into her fiance's bed.

"Don't play games. Keep your dirty thoughts to yourself," Kevin warned.

Daniela's thoughts were interrupted.

Kevin leaned in, his breath warm on her face, but his words sent a shiver down her spine. "Katherine and I are going to be married soon. If you dare tell her anything about us, I will kill you."

How absurd!

Why would she bring Katherine into this now? Did he really think she wanted to force him into loving her again, hoping for even a shred of affection like before?

Well, what a stupid idea she used to have.

Daniela felt a sting of bitterness but managed a smile. To provoke Kevin, she put on a confused expression and asked, "What do you mean by 'anything about us'? Are you referring to three years ago when Katherine was in the hospital, and we were secretly together? Or last night, when I just returned from abroad and you couldn't wait to sleep with me?"

"Daniela Pearson!"

Kevin's grip on Daniela's neck tightened, and her smile vanished. As she struggled for air, her face flushed red. In a frantic attempt, she tried to pry his hand off.

Seeing the fear in her eyes, Kevin scoffed, "Do you think I'd have any trouble getting rid of you? Or someone would avenge you after I strangled you and left you in the street?"

Yes, Kevin was capable of that.

The Bradley family was a globally recognized financial dynasty, owning banks in major cities around the world. They had established a bank network that spread all over the world and wielded immense power and wealth.

As the new leader of the family business, Kevin was known for his ruthless demeanor.

If he killed her, no one would intervene.

Her family couldn't help-her brother was missing, and her mother was seriously ill.

Daniela frantically slapped at Kevin's hand, convinced he would go through with it for Katherine.

Desperate, she kicked him sharply between the legs.

The pain made Kevin release his grip, and Daniela quickly escaped the bed.

Clutching her neck, she coughed violently and gasped for air.

Seeing Kevin's grim expression, she realized the gravity of her actions and felt a surge of fear.

But in the end, Kevin just spat, "Get out."

Daniela didn't hesitate. Wincing from the pain, she stooped to gather her dirty clothes, her body marked with red bruises. She dressed slowly, then straightened up and walked out.

Once the door closed behind her, Daniela burst into tears.

She had cried for Kevin for years. Though she thought she was over him, the tears still came.

It was unfortunate. After all their history, here they were again, and still, she had nothing.

Daniela headed to the bathroom to clean up and carefully washed her face. Once sure there were no signs of her tears, she prepared to go home.

If not for her mother, she would have never come back. She would have stayed far from those disgusting people.

Daniela went downstairs. When she just arrived at the roadside, her phone rang. It was Katherine.

"Daniela, something's happened to your mother. If you want her to be okay, come to my birthday party now!"

I sat on the edge of the examination table, the crinkle of the sanitary paper sounding like thunder in the sterile room. The doctor didn't even look at me as he confirmed the news: the pregnancy was over. My husband, Keyon, didn't answer my call. He just sent an automated text: "In a meeting." When I returned to our cold mansion, I found his iPad glowing with a message from his "muse," Katina. He was throwing her a secret gala tonight-on our third wedding anniversary. He told her he couldn't wait to escape the "boring" and "draining" atmosphere I created at home. Keyon didn't stumble in until 3 AM, smelling of Katina's perfume with a smear of red on his collar. When I handed him the divorce papers, he laughed in my face. He called me a "glorified housekeeper" with no skills and no future, promising I'd be back in three days begging for a subway ticket. He even bet his friends ten thousand dollars that I wouldn't survive a week without his name. He had his assistant cancel my credit cards and block my gate access before I even reached the end of the driveway. He wanted me to starve. He wanted me to crawl. He sat in his office, mocking the "desperate" woman who pawned her three-million-dollar wedding ring for scrap metal just to pay for a meal. I stood on the rainy curb, watching the man I had protected for three years treat my life like trash. He didn't know about the ultrasound I just threw in the bin. He didn't know that while he was calling me "dull," I was the one secretly writing the code that kept his billion-dollar empire from collapsing. As I slid into a cheap Uber, I opened a hidden, encrypted app on my phone. The screen refreshed to a dashboard for an account Keyon didn't know existed. The balance was ten figures long-the accumulated wealth of "Solaris," the world's most elusive tech genius. Keyon thinks he just evicted a parasite, but he's about to find out he just declared war on the only person who can hit "delete" on his entire life.

Today is October 14th, my birthday. I returned to New York after months away, dragging my suitcase through the biting wind, but the VIP pickup zone where my husband's Maybach usually idled was empty. When I finally let myself into our Upper East Side penthouse, I didn't find a cake or a "welcome home" banner. Instead, I found my husband, Caden, kneeling on the floor, helping our five-year-old daughter wrap a massive gift for my half-sister, Adalynn. Caden didn't even look up when I walked in; he was too busy laughing with the girl who had already stolen my father's legacy and was now moving in on my family. "Auntie Addie is a million times better than Mommy," my daughter Elara chirped, clutching a plush toy Caden had once forbidden me from buying for her. "Mommy is mean," she whispered loudly, while Caden just smirked, calling me a "drill sergeant" before whisking her off to Adalynn's party without a second glance. Later that night, I saw a video Adalynn posted online where my husband and child laughed while mocking my "sensitive" nature, treating me like an inconvenient ghost in my own home. I had spent five years researching nutrition for Elara's health and managing every detail of Caden's empire, only to be discarded the moment I wasn't in the room. How could the man who set his safe combination to my birthday completely forget I even existed? The realization didn't break me; it turned me into ice. I didn't scream or beg for an explanation. I simply walked into the study, pulled out the divorce papers I'd drafted months ago, and took a black marker to the terms. I crossed out the alimony, the mansion, and even the custody clause-if they wanted a life without me, I would give them exactly what they asked for. I left my four-carat diamond ring on the console table and walked out into the rain with nothing but a heavily encrypted hard drive. The submissive Mrs. Holloway was gone, and "Ghost," the most lethal architect in the tech world, was finally back online to take back everything they thought I'd forgotten.

The heavy iron gates of the Wilderness Correction Camp groaned as they released me after three years of state-sponsored hell. I stood on the dirt road, clutching a plastic bag that held my entire life, waiting for the family that claimed they sent me there for "rehab." My brother, Brady, picked me up in a luxury SUV only to throw me out onto a deserted highway in the middle of a brewing storm. He told me I was a "public relations nightmare" and that the rain might finally wash the "stink" of the camp off me. He drove away, leaving me to limp miles through the mud on a snapped ankle. When I finally dragged myself to our family estate, my mother didn't offer a hug; she gasped in horror because my muddy clothes were ruining her Italian marble. They didn't give me my old room back. Instead, they banished me to a moldy gardener’s shack and hired a "babysitter" to make sure I didn't embarrass them further. My sister, Kaleigh, stood there in white cashmere, pretending to cry while clinging to her fiancé, Ambrose—the man who had once been mine. They all treated me like a volatile junkie, refusing to acknowledge that Kaleigh was the one who planted the drugs in my bag three years ago. They wanted to believe I was broken so they wouldn't have to feel guilty about the "wellness retreat" that was actually a torture chamber. I sat in the dark of that shed, feeling the cooling gel on the cigarette burns that covered my arms, and realized they had made a fatal mistake. They thought they had erased me, but I had returned with a roadmap of scars and a hidden satellite phone. At dinner, I didn't beg for their love. I simply rolled up my sleeves and showed them the price of their silence. As the wine spilled and the lies crumbled, I sent a single text to the only person I trusted: "I'm in. Let them simmer." The hunt was finally on.
