When their lips touched, everything outside disappeared. Olivia sensed Alexander's hands exploring her body with a desire that matched her own. Effortlessly, he raised her and sat her on the corner of his desk. Papers were strewn about, yet neither of them paid any attention. His kisses on her neck filled her with immense pleasure. Olivia's fingers twisted in his hair as he descended, his touch sparking a flame inside her. Their love engulfed them, every caress, embrace, and murmured phrase intensifying the bond between them. At that time, they were disconnected from one another, completely oblivious to the outside world and its problems as they were consumed by their passion. However, as their love story progresses, a surprising discovery about Alexander's real identity puts everything at risk. Will their connection endure the most profound betrayal, or will the hidden truths from previous times permanently separate them?

Chapter 1 The Interview

Olivia Reynolds nervously straightened her blouse while she stood in front of the huge oak doors of the Drake estate. Taking a deep breath to calm her pounding heart, she smoothed down her skirt. This interview with the mysterious billionaire Alexander Drake was more than just a task; it was her opportunity to showcase her skills as a journalist at "The Manhattan Times."

The doors opened, unveiling a lavish foyer decorated with marble statues and extravagant chandeliers. Olivia was guided through hallways adorned with valuable artwork until she arrived at a personal study. Before Alexander Drake entered, she paused to gather herself.

He was tall and authoritative, with penetrating blue eyes that appeared to look directly into her soul. His custom-made suit highlighted his wide shoulders and muscular physique. He greeted Miss Reynolds with a deep and smooth voice, causing a shiver to run down her spine. "We appreciate your presence."

Olivia reached out her hand and experienced a shock of electricity when their skin made contact for a moment. "Mr. Drake, it's my pleasure. I am thankful for being given this chance."

Olivia opened her notepad as they faced each other, while Alexander reclined with a sense of composed assurance. The study combined traditional beauty with contemporary elegance, incorporating dark wood paneling, leather-bound books, and sleek technology.

Olivia started by asking about his business empire and philanthropic efforts in a formal manner. Alexander's replies were eloquent and perceptive, demonstrating a thought process that functioned on a separate level of existence. He talked with a sense of peaceful control, selecting each word deliberately.

"I have observed that your journey to success is impressive," her pen hovering over her notepad. "What motivates you, Mr. Drake?"

Alexander's gaze intensified as his eyes grew darker, leaning towards her and locking onto her gaze. "Maybe ambition. And the wish to create a lasting impression that goes beyond riches."

A period of quietness happened, with tension filling the space between them. Olivia felt a strong attraction to the captivating presence of Alexander. Whenever he talked about his past, there was a vulnerability in his eyes that caught her attention because of the hint of pain. She delved into more intimate inquiries, going deeper than she intended.

"Your charitable efforts are remarkable. However, I have heard rumors of a deeper personal reason for it," Olivia whispered, carefully observing his face for any sign of response.

Alexander's face showed a brief change in expression, suggesting he was carefully considering his words. "Assisting others is a method to make amends for past actions, Miss Reynolds. We each possess our own inner demons, and for me, philanthropy is how I choose to confront mine."

They had an easy flow of conversation, discussing everything from philosophy to personal beliefs. Olivia couldn't help but acknowledge the strong pull she felt towards this mysterious man who appeared to have everything in his control. His tone, his intense stare, and the barely noticeable way he leaned towards her all captivated her.

"Do you ever struggle to juggle your public image and personal life?" Olivia inquired with sincere curiosity.

Alexander's face was cast in shadow. "It's an ongoing battle." However, I have discovered how to separate and organize things. The person the world perceives is only one aspect of my identity.

At the end of the interview, Alexander got up and offered his hand again. "Miss Reynolds, I am grateful to you. I am excited to read your article when it is published."

Olivia agreed with a head nod, her thoughts consumed by the man who had completely captivated her in a brief time period. "Thanks, Mr. Drake."

Upon leaving the estate, Olivia mulled over their interaction in her head. There was an enigmatic quality about Alexander that she couldn't quite identify- a depth that extended beyond his well-groomed appearance. Feeling a strange combination of excitement and nervousness, she was aware that this task was going to transform her life in unforeseen ways.

The following days were a whirlwind of reflecting and writing. Olivia meticulously studied her notes, composing an article that she wished would accurately represent the complex man she had spoken with. However much she attempted, she couldn't rid herself of the recollection of his intense stare, and the depth of emotion in his voice remained palpable.

As Olivia was finishing up her draft one night, a text message from a strange number buzzed on her phone. One sentence caused her heart to flutter.

"Let's rendezvous at the Drake Gallery tomorrow night. - A.D."

Her eyes were fixed on the message, her thoughts running wild with potential scenarios. The Drake Gallery, belonging to Alexander, was a private art collection that was seldom open to the public. What would be his reason for inviting her to that place? Was it connected to the interview, or was it a more personal matter?

The following night, Olivia stood in front of the Drake Gallery, a contemporary building made of glass and steel, which looked very different from the traditional buildings nearby. Stepping inside, she took a deep breath while her polished heels clicked on the marble floor.

Alexander was standing in the main hall, waiting for her, in front of a large abstract painting that was the focal point of the room. As she neared, he faced her with a hint of a smile on his lips. "Miss Reynolds. I appreciate you being here.

Mr. Drake," Olivia responded, with her voice staying firm despite the fluttering in her chest. I have to confess that I was taken aback by your invitation.

"I want to show something to you," gesturing towards the painting. "I supported a young artist who made this piece. It serves as a reminder that chaos can give rise to beauty."

Olivia examined the artwork, noting how the strong brushstrokes and lively colors expressed motion and feeling. "This is amazing." Why do you need to display it in front of me?

Alexander's gaze became gentle, giving him a momentary air of vulnerability. "I see the same potential in you, Olivia. Your writing, your passion is an uncommon present. And I desire to assist you in fostering it."

Olivia was caught off guard by the closeness of the moment. She experienced a bond with Alexander that surpassed mere professional respect. He seemed to have the ability to peer into her soul, identifying the hidden dreams and fears she concealed from others.

Softly, she murmured with gratitude, locking eyes with him. "That holds significance for me beyond your understanding."

Alexander moved nearer, his overwhelming presence intensifying. "Olivia, there is more to life than what we present to the world. At times, the things that hold the most significance are the ones we conceal.

There was tension in the air between them, and Olivia felt her determination starting to fade. She felt an inexplicable attraction to Alexander, a magnetic force that went beyond logic and reason.

She said she needed to leave, her voice barely audible.

"Stay," Alexander responded, extending his hand to softly touch hers. "I have many more things I would like to demonstrate to you."
