After the cold murder of her family Deeva seeks revenge against the Graham's

Chapter 1 Deeva

After hearing that the Arden family's ancestral home is about to be auctioned on Tuesday night, four days before the auction date, Deeva Keran (Claire Arden), the illegitimate daughter and legal heiress of the Arden family, who now lives as the youngest and last-born of the Keran family, decides to take action.

As she arrives at the airport, she is fascinated by how much it has changed after twelve years away from her country. Dragging her luggage towards the parking area outside the airport, she searches for the person assigned to drive her to the Keran family house.

"Are you Miss Deeva Keran?" a young, vibrant, dark-skinned man dressed casually asks her immediately upon seeing her, as she matches the description of the person he was asked to pick up.

Deeva removes her glasses and looks at the man speaking to her. "I'm Deeva Keran. And you are?" she asks, wanting to confirm his identity.

"Josiah. I'm your special driver, assigned by Mr. Ahmed Keran," Josiah says with a smile, showing his white teeth.

Deeva's trust in people is slim due to an accident thirteen years ago that haunts her dreams every night-an incident where her family members were betrayed, killed, and destroyed by those they thought were loyal and obedient.

Deeva places a call to her father to confirm the identity of the person standing in front of her. "Dad, what's the name of the person you sent to pick me up from the airport?" she asks, eyeing Josiah from head to toe after hanging her glasses on her dress.

"This girl called Deeva is back in the country with her trouble and lack of trust. An arrogant girl," Josiah sighs inwardly.

"Open the trunk of the car, Josiah, and stop standing there like a statue," Deeva commands.

"Sorry, miss," Josiah says as he hurriedly opens the trunk for Deeva to put her luggage inside.

As they drive through the city, Deeva compliments how gorgeous and stunning it looks after twelve years away.

"There is nothing special about the country. It looks developed, but the rate of unemployment is high, not to mention the rising generation," Josiah says with a sigh.

"Is that so? Tell me how the country seems special but ends up not being special," Deeva asks, hoping to gather useful information about the country and understand her standing.

"My sister, for the past fifteen years and beyond, the Grahams have been ruling us. How long can we claim to be a democratic nation when every periodic election results in the Grahams always coming out as president?" Josiah says.

"The people have no right to choose their leader, as the fear of the Grahams surpasses freedom, and every time they preach about change," Josiah continues, his focus on the road.

"Really? So there hasn't been anyone or any family ruling this country for the past fifteen years apart from the Graham family?" Deeva asks while looking at her Google Maps to be sure of their route.

"Nope. The only family who could defeat the Grahams was the Arden family," Josiah says.

"So what happened to the Arden family?" Deeva asks, hoping to hear some information about her elder sister, Khloe.

"The Ardens met their end without even spending a week in power. Miss Deeva, the only survivor is the heiress of the Arden family," Josiah says.

"So what happened to the surviving heiress?" Deeva asks.

"Her condition is pretty bad. She is now working as a slave under the Grahams. You might wonder, with all the things the Arden family had, why is she working as a slave, right? The Arden property was all taken from her under the pretense of a large debt," Josiah says.

"So the Grahams are this powerful? I strongly believe they have a powerful backer in this country," Deeva says.

"Of course they do. The Grahams are under the aegis of the Major family, Miss Deeva. The only person who could defeat the Grahams is the Arden family, but the current Arden survivor is too weak to defeat them," Josiah says, shaking his head in pity for the girl.

"You know, Miss Deeva, it was hard for me when I lost my father. That's when hardship started for me and my mother. Although my mother was working, she couldn't provide for our daily needs, pushing us onto the streets to make a living," Josiah says.

"Talk more of her who lost her entire family, her status in society, her freedom, and also her rights," Josiah says.

"You don't mean it. Her freedom and rights are also taken away from her?" Deeva asks.

"Yes, she is now working as a slave under the Grahams," Josiah says as he stops driving.

"Why are you not driving?" Deeva asks as she rolls up her sleeve.
