ULTIMATE WARRIORS Chapter 1 Banished

✨ Theodore's POV✨

I suspect most readers are unfamiliar with my identity. Allow me to introduce myself: I am Theodore, the sole son of my mother, Her Majesty Queen Elena, and the cherished child of my father, Lord King Tarsus.

My mother died when I was nine

According to the ancient customs of my kingdom, Arcadia, a king cannot ascend to the throne without a queen by his side. Therefore, my father, Lord King Tarsus, took my mother's younger sister, Aunt Naomi, as his wife, ensuring the continuation of our royal lineage.

The day Aunt Naomi crossed the palace threshold marked the beginning of my descent into despair. Her arrival unleashed a torrent of woes, plunging my life into darkness and misery that surpassed my darkest fears.

My father's unwavering affection and love reassured me, and I didn't give Aunt Naomi's arrival a second thought. His devotion exceeded my wildest expectations, enveloping me in a sense of security.

But little did I know, Aunt Naomi's subtle manipulations would soon disrupt our harmonious relationship, testing the bonds of my father's love.

Everything changed on my 17th birthday, just a week ago. That day marked a turning point in my life.

#Flashback

My father made a get together party which was held in the palace

The grand palace halls were abuzz with nobles, dignitaries, and guests from far and wide. My father, King Tarsus, stood tall, a warm smile on his face as he greeted the arrivals.

I, Theodore, stood by his side, trying to appear confident and charismatic, but my mind was elsewhere. The mysterious letter still lingered in my thoughts.

Aunt Naomi glided effortlessly through the crowd, exchanging laughter and pleasantries. Her eyes sparkled, but I detected a hint of cunning beneath.

As the night wore on, the music and chatter grew louder. I found myself at the edge of the hall, observing the festivities with a mix of disinterest and unease.

Suddenly, a soft voice whispered in my ear:

"Theodore, be cautious. Your aunt's intentions are not pure."

I turned to face the speaker, but they vanished into the crowd before I could see their face.

My heart racing, I scanned the room for Aunt Naomi. She was laughing with my father, her eyes locked on mine for a fleeting moment.

A shiver ran down my spine

Aunt Naomi and my stepbrother, Draco, were present at the high table. My Aunt Lucretia, my father's younger sister, was also in attendance. Everyone was enjoying themselves at the feast, which my father had arranged to coincide with the Full Moon Festival, also celebrating my 17th birthday.

Seated at my father's right-hand side, I felt honored. The atmosphere was filled with happiness and merriment as we drank and shared stories, with some even cracking jokes.

My father, Lord Tarsus, raised his wine glass and stood up, addressing the gathering.

"I suppose everyone knows why we've gathered here today," he began, "but let me remind you. Today marks the third day of the full moon, and we celebrate both this sacred festival and my son's 17th birthday."

He paced within the palace, surveying the room.

"By this time next year, my son will undergo his coronation as the crowned prince and heir to my throne."

The assembly erupted into applause, amazed by the announcement.

My stepmother Naomi's face twisted in anger, her eyes blazing with jealousy.

"Tarsus, what about my son?" she spat, her voice venomous. "What will become of Draco?"

She glared at my father, then stood up, grasping Draco's hand. "Come, son."

Without another word, they stormed out of the hall, heading towards her chambers.

"Naomi! Naomi!" Father called after her, but she didn't turn back.

The night wore on, the party ending as guests departed for their homes. Only Aunt Lucretia remained, sipping strawberry juice in the parlor.

I began to feel an intense headache, signaling my impending transformation. The full moon's pull was irresistible.

I rushed to my room, bolting the door behind me. My body started to shift, uncontrollable forces coursing through my veins.

When I regained awareness, I found myself naked, with shredded clothes scattered around me.

Stepping out of my room, I was met with a horrific sight:

Aunt Lucretia lay lifeless in the parlor, bleeding from a gash on her neck.

I rushed to her side, desperate to save her, but it was too late.

Just then, the palace doors swung open. Guards, my stepmother, and Father entered.

"What have you done?" Father thundered, his voice trembling with rage.

I stood, frozen, my heart heavy with guilt and confusion.

"Nothing, Father! I woke up and saw her lying lifeless," I pleaded, tears welling up in my eyes.

But Father wouldn't listen.

"Seize him!" he ordered.

I was dragged away, locked in the dungeon for six agonizing days.

On the seventh day, I was banished from the kingdom, humiliated in front of the villagers.

Left alone in the forest, I faced the merciless Cannibals.

With an empty stomach and parched throat, I trudged 120 kilometers into the wilderness.

As night fell, I grew desperate.

I needed food, water, and shelter.

Gathering dry wood, I used stones to spark a fire.

The flames danced, warding off wild animals.

Weary, I gathered palm leaves and created a makeshift bed.

Lying down, I gazed up at the stars.

Memories of my late mother flooded my mind.

"I wish she were still alive; this wouldn't have happened," I thought, sorrow overwhelming me.

The darkness closed in, and I succumbed to exhaustion.

I reminisced about the good old days with Mom and Dad in the palace. "Now everything has changed in the blink of an eye," I thought.

Lost in thought, I drifted off to sleep.

The warm sunlight awakened me.

"Oh, it's already morning," I said to myself, struggling to sit up from the palm leaves.

As I raised my head, I heard footsteps approaching.

Peering through the underbrush, I saw a group of twelve men marching toward me.

Some grasped spears, while others held bows.

No expert was needed to identify them – they were cannibals.

I sprang up and sprinted for my life.

The cannibals gave chase, relentless in their pursuit.

I surged forward, desperate to escape their sight.

A spear whizzed past my neck, narrowly missing its mark.

I ran as fast as my legs could carry me.

But luck eluded me this time.

An arrow pierced my back, its pain searing.

I stumbled, yet refused to surrender.

Fighting through agony, I pressed on.

Their footsteps closed in.

Would I escape, or become their next meal?

To be continue...

As I lay on the floor of our manor, bleeding out from a ruptured ectopic pregnancy, I used my last ounce of strength to call my husband, Cole. I begged him for help, my vision blurring. But the only thing I heard was the clinking of champagne glasses and his mistress's giggle in the background. "Stop the drama, June," Cole snapped, his voice cold. "We're about to go on stage. Don't call again." He hung up, leaving me to die alone on the Persian rug while he accepted an award with another woman on his arm. I woke up in the hospital days later. My baby was gone. They had removed my fallopian tube. Cole finally arrived, smelling of expensive scotch and his mistress's perfume. He didn't hug me. He didn't cry. Instead, he leaned over my hospital bed, pressing his knee into the mattress until my fresh stitches tore open and bled. "You embarrassed me by calling an ambulance," he hissed. "My mistress, Alycia, says you're faking it. Clean yourself up." He left me bleeding again to go announce a $10 million donation to Alycia's "groundbreaking" medical research. I stared at the TV screen, numb. The research Alycia was taking credit for? It was mine. I wrote that patent years ago under a pseudonym. They thought I was just a poor, orphan housewife who needed Cole's money to survive. They had no idea I was actually a billionaire scientist hiding my identity. I pulled the IV needle out of my arm. A drop of blood fell onto the divorce papers I had been hiding. I didn't wipe it off. I signed my name right over it. Then I walked into the bank, reactivated my dormant account with $128 million, and bought the penthouse directly overlooking Cole's house. The mourning widow is dead. The avenger is born.

I went to the City Clerk’s office for a routine copy of my marriage license to finalize a trust fund audit. I expected a simple piece of paper, but the clerk’s pitying look told me my entire life was a lie. "The license was never finalized, Ms. Oliver. In the eyes of the state, you are single." The three-hundred-guest wedding at the Plaza and the Vogue features meant nothing. My husband, Gray Cooley, had intentionally filed the documents with a "procedural defect" so he could discard me without a legal divorce. Moments later, an iCloud invite titled "Our Little Secret" popped up on my screen. It was a photo of my best friend, Brylee, holding a positive pregnancy test at our Hamptons estate. Gray’s text to her was the final blow: "Happy anniversary, babe. This baby is the best gift. Once the trust unlocks today, we’re done with the charade." I soon discovered they were even stealing my career, reassigning my architectural masterpiece to Brylee while preparing my eviction notice. Gray's mother called me a "barren mule" in a leaked recording, mocking the infertility I suffered after saving Gray’s life in a construction accident. I wasn't a wife; I was a three-year placeholder used to secure his inheritance. How could the man I bled for treat me like a disposable prop? How could my best friend carry his child while pretending to comfort me through my darkest moments? The betrayal burned until it turned into a cold, hard stone of fury. I didn't cry. Instead, I walked into the penthouse of the Barretts, the Cooleys' most powerful rivals. I signed a marriage contract with Kane Barrett, the man the tabloids called the "Beast of Wall Street." "I want a wedding," I told his father, my voice steady and lethal. "Bigger than the one I had with Gray." If they wanted me gone, they would have to watch me become the woman who owns their world.

Tonight was supposed to be the night I became the happiest woman in D.C., celebrating my engagement at the legendary Bolton Manor gala. I wore emerald silk and a diamond that cost more than most mansions, convinced that Hank Bolton was my soulmate and the key to my family's future. But behind the heavy oak doors of the guest wing, the dream died. I found my fiancé tangled with another woman, laughing about how I was nothing more than a "clueless cash cow" whose inheritance would fund his run for the Senate. In my first life, I reacted with tears and screams, which only allowed his family to paint me as an unstable lunatic. They stripped me of my dignity, bankrupted the Adams estate, and watched coldly as my brother, Lucas, died in a ditch trying to save me. I ended up gasping for air in a burning building, realizing too late that my perfect engagement was actually my execution. I died in the soot and the shadows, feeling the searing heat of a betrayal that burned worse than the fire. I lost everything because I was too blind to see the monsters hiding behind expensive smiles. But then, I suddenly gasped for air and realized the smoke was gone. I was standing in front of a vanity, the calendar mocking me: October 14th. The night of the gala. I had been given a second chance, and this time, I wasn't going to be the victim. I recorded the betrayal on my phone and walked into the library with a heart made of ice. I didn't just blow up the engagement; I demanded a new groom—Hank’s "invalid" older brother, Dereck, a man the world had written off as a dying recluse. "I'll take him," I told the stunned family. I wanted a husband who couldn't cheat, a puppet who would leave me a wealthy widow within a year. I thought I was choosing a safe, broken man to shield me from my enemies. I didn't know that under his blanket, Dereck was hiding a holster, or that the "dying" man was actually a predator who had been waiting for someone exactly like me to walk into his trap.

Her Death, Their Sinful Secret

The first time Chloe died, I wasn't there. I was in the library, trying to finish a paper, when a text from our friend Emily shattered my world: "Something happened at the dorm. Come back. Now." I ran, only to find flashing lights and yellow tape around our building. Emily, pale and shaking, whispered the horror: "It' s Chloe. She… she fell." The university moved with chilling speed, declaring it a tragic suicide, scrubbing every trace of her from our room as if she never existed. My best friend, gone. But I knew Chloe. She wouldn't just jump. The bruises, the whispered phone calls to a blocked number that made her face tighten with fear-they screamed something else. I tried to tell the police, but they dismissed it, already closing the case. The university wanted me quiet, gone, just like Chloe' s memory. In a haze of grief and rage, I remembered her hidden burner phone and secret journal. I knew they held the truth. That night, I snuck back into our room, found them, and a terrifyingly large man in a dark suit appeared, attacking me. I woke up with a throbbing head, confused, but the buzzing alarm clock confirmed it: Wednesday, 7:00 AM. May 18th. Then I saw her. Chloe, alive, humming at her desk. I had woken up three days in the past. This was my second chance. I could save her. But I failed. Even knowing, even running, I was too late. I watched her fall again, this time on a Wednesday. Despair threatened to swallow me whole, but then a cold, hard determination set in. They had taken everything the first time, covered it up. Not this time. I couldn't save her life, but I could get justice. And the key was the phone and the journal-still hidden where I' d left them in the original timeline. When university officials, including Dean Peterson and the terrifying man who attacked me, burst into my room to silence me, I had a choice. Beg for help? Or fight back? I dialed 911, then deliberately smashed the window, screaming for real police attention. When they finally arrived, I knew my physical evidence was gone. Dean Peterson's smug face confirmed it. So, I played my last card. I looked the officer dead in the eye and said, "I pushed her. I killed my best friend." It was a monstrous lie, a suicide bomb of a confession, but it forced their hand. A suicide they could bury; a murder, they had to investigate. Sitting in the interrogation room, recounting the nightmare to Detective Anderson, the impossible truth started to break through. He listened, he saw the inconsistencies, and for the first time, someone believed me. Chloe's journal and the burner phone, retrieved by my bewildered friend Emily, laid bare the horrifying truth: Dean Peterson was pimping out vulnerable female students, including Chloe, to powerful, wealthy university trustees like the HIV-positive Mr. Thompson. Chloe's death wasn't suicide; it was murder, a desperate escape from a web of abuse and control. My false confession cost me my freedom, my reputation, my sanity, but it ignited a firestorm. The corrupt system crumbled, Thompson and Peterson jailed for life. Standing at Chloe' s grave, the fight over, I knew for the first time: we did it. We changed her story. And no one else would suffer like her again.
