Georgia wakes up one day with no recollection of the past and to an imminent marriage. Reluctant but helpless she gets married to Jeremiah Clinton the young and handsome star CEO and founder of the JADED enterprise the top company in the country. Jeremiah is ruthless, calculative, unyielding and possessive. Unable to resist his charm she fall hopelessly in love with him. Until a rude awakening. _excerpt_ ''She is suspicious, we have to get rid of her.'' His unhesitant voice traveling through the slightly ajar door was like a dagger cutting deep into her heart. Ā Ā Even through the tears blurring her vision, she could still make out the broad shoulders of the man who laid entangled with her every night on their matrimonial bed. .......... Fearing for her life, she runs away with his unborn child leaving behind divorce papers. Years later, she returns back to the country with his son. At a chance meeting He cages her against the wall, his head tucked in her nape, his trembling arms holding her securely to his muscular frame, as he whispered '' don't go, don't leave me... please.'' But even if she wanted to leave , he'll never let her go.
In the dark shadows of a lonely street, a figure could be seen staggering through the emptiness of the night.
Even as Winter was slowly coming to an end, the nights were still frigidly cold but the figure, wearing only a tattered shirt and torn trousers seemed unaware of that, walking in unstable steps that spoke more of a disability than drunkenness.
Then suddenly, the figure darted into one of the road side gutters, the reason for its actions; a cat, emerged from a nearby trashcan, its cry scratching the stillness of the night as it walked off lazily.
The human sized figure crawled out of hiding, but the scare seemed to have drained it as it mustered a few steps before crashing down to the ground in a heap.
Seconds later, it rose up and continued in a crawl towards the distance.
....................
Blue skies, a slightly cool temperature and the eye catching view of beautiful flowers in spring waking up from their winter slumber. This was the perfect day and weather for many events such as, getting married.
Lovebirds could be seen trooping into the court to get their marriage certificate, the sky was bright, and the atmosphere was just right. But the scene was vastly different in a private section of a court.
A few people could be seen in the private room with a man and a woman sitting in front of a registrar table and waiting for their marriage to be documented.
It couldn't be called waiting as the registrar was trembling in fear while moving around hastily in order to finish up the marriage procedures so as not to draw the ire of the man in front of him , the registrar had been shocked silly when he saw the person he was supposed to process the marriage documents for.
He was a high-level staff and not your normal registrar so he was a bit surprised when he was sent to process the marriage certification of someone, after all that was a grade one duty meant for the bottom of the rug staff.
So he knew he was dealing with a big shot. But imagine his shock on seeing who he was going to attend to, as it was the one and only Jeremiah Clinton the mysterious and enigmatic overlord of the business world.
Jeremiah Clinton was getting married? And even more exhilarating was the fact that he was the one to wed him. 'Hah..i have accumulated enough bragging rights for the rest of my life with just this fact' he thought but now ecstasy was turning into regret.
The man's aura was just too strong, he was just sitting there quietly but he gave off the feeling of a towering mountain, even the air around him was so oppressive that the registrar had a helpless feeling of deference towards him.
Looking at the obviously timid girl besides Mr Clinton in pity and curiosity, he wondered if there had been any news of Mr Clinton marriage but figured that it'll be impossible. After all, any news about this man was as rare as an event of two planets clashing into one another.
The registrar was only able to recognize Mr Clinton because he was a staff of the court where Mr Clinton had a had a case five years ago.
But the Clinton of that time was incomparable to the one sitting before him, the present Mr Clinton had excelled far more greater than anyone could have predicted.
Catching Mr Jeremiah's gaze, he quickly averted his eyes a chill spreading through is limbs as he rushed his work, if that was even possible, all the while his heart pounding against his chest.
He just didn't understand why the man came to the court himself to process the certification. After all, this was something the court could easily send to him without any hassle if he wanted that!
Breathing out a sign of relief as the photocopy machine released the last of the documents, he glanced over it for the last time to detect if anything was out of place.
He caiught some thing he might have failed to notice before due to his nervousness.
knotting his brows in confusion he looked up at Mr Jeremiah but was met with gray eyes hiding a vortex of darkness in it's depth that seems to swallow up everything in it's path.
He quickly looked down his brows still knit in confusion 'There was no way that Mr Clinton would make such a low level mistake' he thought as he reread the name at the top of the form even going through the manually filled form to confirm, but is met with the same thing, the words Lucas tuchel mocking his brain's ability to comprehend.
He's a hundred percent sure that this is Mr Jeremiah Clinton, so its most probably a typological error, but the lawyer behind Mr Clinton would have been sure to have looked through the filed documents. So why was the name on the form different.
Keeping his thoughts to himself, he passes the documents over wanting to be over and done with this.
His actions in the presence of this man seems to have drained him mentally, as he collapsed in his chair feeling fatigued.
Mr Clinton's lawyer looked through the document to ensure that everything was correct before passing it to Mr Clinton who just tossed it to the lady beside him without giving it as much as a glance
The lady was stunned for a moment before she picked the documents her hands slightly trembling as she looked through it
''Are there any mistakes in it at any detail you'll like to change?''
Mr Clinton questioned, his eyes on the young lady.
''Nn..no no,not at all'' she answered visibly startled. This was the first conversation they had since they met this morning. so God knows how damn nervous she was.
''All good then'' came the response as Mr Clinton rose up from his sit to take his leave.
He nodded at the registrar as a form of acknowledgement, as he strode out of the room, his perfect back view receding from view.
The registrar who is still giddy from excitement at been acknowledged by one of the most powerful men in the country wass approached by one of Mr Clinton's bodyguards who gives him a confidentiality agreement document to ensure he keeps his mouth sealed concerning today's events.
The registrar signed the document without a fuss since he has come across such protocols before while staring in sympathy at the young lady who is been lead out if the room by Mr Clinton's lawyer.
'Ah such an unbalanced marriage ....more like face off between a lion and a rabbit' he mused.
........
Georgia felt her heart thumping against her chest
''What have I gotten my self into'
In a blur she heard a voice,
'Miss leachel, miss Lea.....oh am sorry Mrs Clinton? Is there a problem?'
Snapping out of her daze, She couldn't help thinking in self mockery 'yeah am no longer miss but Mrs..... A prefix emphasizing closeness yet In my case it feels so distant'
Looking up, Georgia saw the man who lead her out of the bureau gesture towards an opened car with his hands while staring at her with raised brows.
'I didn't even know when we arrived ' hah....I need to stop being so Muddleheaded, what's the worst that could happened anyways' Georgia thought, pulling herself together.
Entering the car Georgia saw a figure leaning relaxedly on the backseat, probably asleep. She immediately averted her eyes when she recognized him to be her just wedded husband
' Why is he here....it's his car though, but he could have dumped me in one of the other cars for all I care ...........not that am scared of him, I just need space...yeah, space to properly adapt to my current situation..... Gosh why are my hands so clammy' she cringed trying to clean her sweaty hands on her dress.
Unknown to her the figure besides her had opened his eyes and was watching her changing facial expressions in surprise,, amusement flashing across his gray pupils.
'But I really have to pull myself together...........for Christ sake am going to live with this man starting onwards! I just have to force myself to get used to it, starting right now' Georgia breathed out in determination.
'Forr firsts I'll look at him properly now that he's resting, after all I have to see what my supposed husband really looks like, I've not had a good look at him even when we got married, his eyes carries a crushing feeling that I can't even look at his face for longer than a second ...... but his asleep so he'll be at most relaxed moment........ Why am I thinking like a pervert here, calculating when he is less guarded so I can look at him is so lo... Hey, we are married, ain't we? so it's no sweat, its not as if I have molested him or something....it's just a glance.' Georgia laughed awkwardly 'let's do this'
Clenching her fist, Georgia turned to look at the man occupying her thoughts, but was shocked to see those alluring eyes fixated on her.
Georgia turned her head so fast that she was lucky she didn't get a whiplash, her heart was thumping erratically, her mind mushed ' this not something I think I can get used to'
The man beside her raised his eyebrows, probably surprised at her reaction. He opened his mouth as though to speak, then decided against it his furrowed brows wrapped in confusion.
Leaning back against his seat, he closed his eyes to rest.
It had been a long day.
