Sold 2 The Mafia Boss Chapter 1 Life As An Unwanted Daughter

_DAISY<3

I step back at the force of his slap on my face, muffling my cry to stay quiet.

"What the fuck did I tell you? I said a woman is not supposed to speak except spoken to." Father snapped with disappointment in his eyes.

"Do not test me, girl. I don't want to see you downstairs unless you're summoned." He growls at me.

My bottom lip trembles as I nod.

"And why do you look like a rag doll? It is almost lunch time." He looks at me from my head to my toes with disgust in his expression.

He turns around to our only maid and gestures to me while speaking to her.

"Fix this nonsense. It is your responsibility to keep an eye on this good-for-nothing girl." He says, shaking his head as he walks away.

I let out the breath I was holding and rushed upstairs, Maya right on my tail, closing the door behind her as we entered my room.

"I am sorry, Miss. I didn't know-"

"It's okay, Maya. We both know he hates everything I do." I say, giving a small sad smile.

It's not her fault he hates me.

Father has hated me since the day I was born because my mother died bringing me into this world. My father says I killed her, that I caused her so much pain to the point where she had to die.

Three hours later at exactly 1:45 PM, I rushed downstairs, not paying attention to anything but getting to the dining table before him.

I thought he would be happy today at least. His darling first daughter is going to be given to the Mafia boss for marriage.

Why was he upset?

I thankfully made it to the dining room first to see the improving preparations for tonight.

The Mafia boss is going to be coming tonight to take my sister's hand in marriage.

Father has been training my sister and I on how to 'please' a man. He made us take classes on mannerisms when I was 12 and my sister was 15.

When my sister graduated from the class and I didn't, Father started physically hitting me to 'learn my lesson.' He said I liked it the hard way.

Then the next class was etiquette and marriage counseling, then how a woman should behave and dress at all times.

My sister has graduated all her classes as she was now ready to be married while I was not, according to his words, 'not yet fit for a man.'

I'm told that this is the life of women in the Mafia. We must respect the men of the house, we have to keep our heads low and go from obeying our fathers to our husbands to not get hit or punished.

He said men don't listen to women, but we must listen to survive.

"Daisy." Father's deep voice snaps me out of my head.

"Where is Selena?" he asks, sitting down, then motioning for me to sit down as well.

"I do not know, Father." I say, afraid he would get mad, but just then she enters the dining room, making me take a breath of relief.

She sits down, and my father nods in permission for us to start eating.

"Are you prepared for the Mafia boss' arrival?" he asks, making Selena nod quickly.

"Yes, Father, I have everything in order," she continues. "If Daisy doesn't disgrace me with her cursed bad luck, I'll be getting engaged to the Mafia tonight."

"Daisy, you are to stay in the garden at the back of the house." Father turns to me, making me drop my spoon.

"Do not come inside the house until he is gone. Do you understand?" he asks, making me nod my head.

Why can't I just stay in my room?

I slowly chew my food, not daring to ask the question in my head and also praying that everything goes smoothly tonight.

It is now 6 PM. I am sitting on a small bench in the garden reading a novel. I think the guests have arrived, but I cannot be sure, as I've been outside here since 5 PM.

My father has asked me to change my clothes a total of six times into something more 'worth looking at,' but I have not bothered the last time because I have never stepped a foot out of this house, so I doubt they'd know who I was.

Father only took Selena to balls, galas, and parties, so I doubt the guest would know about me.

I sigh, pushing away the thoughts about the nightmare I called a life and slipped into the fantasy world of my book.

I heard the door to the garden slam shut before I saw Selena charging towards me. "You cursed bitch." she seethes, making my eyes widen at her use of a curse word.

Father wouldn't like that.

I have no idea what I did, but I am scared. She gets like this sometimes, does mean things to me when she's angry, and I never know what I've done.

"Selena, w-what-" I sputter in surprise as she grips my arm, pulling me from the bench.

"You used your cursed spell to make a cut on me, right? So I wouldn't look my best for my husband. How did-" She gets cut off by Maya rushing through the door panting.

"I found it, Miss Selena. It was the razor you used for your legs last night." she breathes heavily, her eyes looking at Selena's tight grip on my arm.

Selena drops her hand and smiles. "Don't think I don't know how jealous you are that you have to take more classes while I get to marry the Mafia boss."

She continues with a finger to my chest at each sentence. "Don't even think about casting more cursed spells, Daisy. You've made my razor cut me, but I won't hesitate to break your bones if you try something funny again." She shouts, stomping out after pushing me to the floor.

I groan as pain shoots through my back that has collided with the edge of the bench, willing myself not to cry.

I stood at my mother’s open grave in the freezing rain, my heels sinking into the mud. The space beside me was empty. My husband, Hilliard Holloway, had promised to cherish me in bad times, but apparently, burying my mother didn't fit into his busy schedule. While the priest’s voice droned on, a news alert lit up my phone. It was a livestream of the Metropolitan Charity Gala. There was Hilliard, looking impeccable in a custom tuxedo, with his ex-girlfriend Charla English draped over his arm. The headline read: "Holloway & English: A Power Couple Reunited?" When he finally returned to our penthouse at 2 AM, he didn't come alone—he brought Charla with him. He claimed she’d had a "medical emergency" at the gala and couldn't be left alone. I found a Tiffany diamond necklace on our coffee table meant for her birthday, and a smudge of her signature red lipstick on his collar. When I confronted him, he simply told me to stop being "hysterical" and "acting like a child." He had no idea I was seven months pregnant with his child. He thought so little of my grief that he didn't even bother to craft a convincing lie, laughing with his mistress in our home while I sat in the dark with a shattered heart and a secret life growing inside me. "He doesn't deserve us," I whispered to the darkness. I didn't scream or beg. I simply left a folder on his desk containing signed divorce papers and a forged medical report for a terminated pregnancy. I disappeared into the night, letting him believe he had successfully killed his own legacy through his neglect. Five years later, Hilliard walked into "The Vault," the city's most exclusive underground auction, looking for a broker to manage his estate. He didn't recognize me behind my Venetian mask, but he couldn't ignore the neon pink graffiti on his armored Maybach that read "DEADBEAT." He had no clue that the three brilliant triplets currently hacking his security system were the very children he thought had been erased years ago. This time, I wasn't just a wife in the way; I was the one holding all the cards.

The heavy thud of the release stamp was the only goodbye I got from the warden after five years in federal prison. I stepped out into the blinding sun, expecting the same flash of paparazzi bulbs that had seen me dragged away in handcuffs, but there was only a single black limousine idling on the shoulder of the road. Inside sat my mother and sister, clutching champagne and looking at my frayed coat with pure disgust. They didn't offer a welcome home; instead, they tossed a thick legal document onto the table and told me I was dead to the city. "Gavin and I are getting engaged," my sister Mia sneered, flicking a credit card at me like I was a stray dog. "He doesn't need a convict ex-fiancée hanging around." Even after I saved their lives from an armed kidnapping attempt by ramming the attackers off the road, they rewarded me by leaving me stranded in the dirt. When I finally ran into Gavin, the man who had framed me, he pinned me against a wall and threatened to send me back to a cell if I ever dared to show my face at their wedding. They had stolen my biotech research, ruined my name, and let me rot for half a decade while they lived off my brilliance. They thought they had broken me, leaving me with nothing but an expired chapstick and a few old photos in a plastic bag. What they didn't know was that I had spent those five years becoming "Dr. X," a shadow consultant with five hundred million dollars in crypto and a secret that would bring the city to its knees. I wasn't just a victim anymore; I was a weapon, and I was pregnant with the heir they thought they had erased. I walked into the Melton estate and made an offer to the most powerful man in New York. "I'll save your grandfather's life," I told Horatio Melton, staring him down. "But the price is your last name. I'm taking back what's mine, and I'm starting with the man who thinks he's marrying my sister."

I sat on the edge of the examination table, the crinkle of the sanitary paper sounding like thunder in the sterile room. The doctor didn't even look at me as he confirmed the news: the pregnancy was over. My husband, Keyon, didn't answer my call. He just sent an automated text: "In a meeting." When I returned to our cold mansion, I found his iPad glowing with a message from his "muse," Katina. He was throwing her a secret gala tonight-on our third wedding anniversary. He told her he couldn't wait to escape the "boring" and "draining" atmosphere I created at home. Keyon didn't stumble in until 3 AM, smelling of Katina's perfume with a smear of red on his collar. When I handed him the divorce papers, he laughed in my face. He called me a "glorified housekeeper" with no skills and no future, promising I'd be back in three days begging for a subway ticket. He even bet his friends ten thousand dollars that I wouldn't survive a week without his name. He had his assistant cancel my credit cards and block my gate access before I even reached the end of the driveway. He wanted me to starve. He wanted me to crawl. He sat in his office, mocking the "desperate" woman who pawned her three-million-dollar wedding ring for scrap metal just to pay for a meal. I stood on the rainy curb, watching the man I had protected for three years treat my life like trash. He didn't know about the ultrasound I just threw in the bin. He didn't know that while he was calling me "dull," I was the one secretly writing the code that kept his billion-dollar empire from collapsing. As I slid into a cheap Uber, I opened a hidden, encrypted app on my phone. The screen refreshed to a dashboard for an account Keyon didn't know existed. The balance was ten figures long-the accumulated wealth of "Solaris," the world's most elusive tech genius. Keyon thinks he just evicted a parasite, but he's about to find out he just declared war on the only person who can hit "delete" on his entire life.

The day she walked free, the world trembled. A convoy of luxury cars lined the road. A legion of loyal followers awaited her triumphant return. Her father tried to buy her silence with money. But money had long lost its power over her. Her adopted sister hid behind sweet words and false kindness. But empty smiles no longer fooled her. Everything that had once been stolen would be reclaimed—piece by piece. When her parents attempted to tie themselves to the city's most feared man by offering their adopted daughter, Hayley's lips curved into a cold smirk. "Not on my watch." Backed by a legendary hacker, shadowy allies, and an entire prison willing to burn the world for her, Hayley dismantled her enemies with terrifying precision. Then the tyrant noticed her. "You're interesting," he said. "Be my woman, and the city is yours." Hayley raised an eyebrow, unimpressed. "You want to own me? Survive me first." High society became their battlefield. Power collided with desire. Ambition clashed with obsession. In this ruthless game of dominance and temptation, only one would kneel first. The girl once abandoned in hell rose from its ashes, crowned by fire and vengeance—And in the end, even the most feared ruler in the city would bow, offering his empire to the woman who had conquered both hell… and him.
