Olivia Davies had it all. Beauty, brains, and an ego big enough to match. With heads turning wherever she walked, she ruled Royal Kids High like a queen, perfectly content living with her mother and causing just enough mischief to keep life interesting. But then he showed up. Brian Kings, the quiet, effortlessly charming new guy - and the son of a billionaire no one at school seemed to recognize. Simple, humble, and totally unfazed by her attitude, Brian was everything Olivia couldn't stand... and maybe, deep down, exactly what she needed. She swore she hated him. He was a rude bastard, after all. But he couldn't care less what she thought. So how did they end up tangled in a love story neither of them saw coming? "How did I fall helplessly in love with you?" "Because we were always meant to be."

My Crush Chapter 1 Boy meets Girl

~ 001

~ OLIVIA

I stepped out of the house, backpack slung over my shoulder and umbrella in hand, bracing myself for the heavy rain.

"Bye, Mum," I called out, waving goodbye. "Be good, okay? Don't cause any trouble at school," Mum replied, her voice warm with concern. I rolled my eyes good-naturedly. "I will," I promised, already knowing the drill.

I'm Olivia Davies, a senior at Royal Kids High, and I'm used to being the center of attention. My friends would probably say I'm confident, maybe a little too confident, but I just call it being comfortable in my own skin.

With my curves and smile, I've got a reputation at school, and boys can't seem to get enough of me. But honestly, I don't let it faze me. I'm more focused on living my life than on what others think.

I've learned to own my space, to walk into a room and command attention without even trying. It's not about seeking validation; it's about being true to myself.

I've got a group of friends who've been with me since freshman year, and we always have each other's backs. We know how to have fun, how to study hard, and how to navigate the drama that comes with being part of the "in crowd."

Now, I'd better hurry – I'm running late, and the last thing I need is detention. I quickened my pace, my heels clicking on the wet pavement.

The rain might be pouring down, but I'm ready to take on the day. I have a project to finish, a math test to ace, and a party to attend tonight. Life is good, and I'm feeling on top of the world.

"Thank you," I told the barista as I stepped out of the coffee shop, cradling my warm cup in my hands. The cold rain hit me like a slap in the face, and I was grateful for the umbrella.

As I walked, a guy approached me, his eyes locked on mine. He was stunning – chiseled features, piercing gaze, and silky silver hair that fell perfectly into place.

I felt a flutter in my chest, but I pushed it down. "Hey, it's pouring, and I don't have an umbrella," he said, his deep voice sending shivers down my spine. "Could I join you?"

I hesitated for a moment, taken aback by his boldness. But something about his smile put me at ease.

"Yeah, no problem," I said, shifting the umbrella to make room for him. As he stepped under the umbrella, our arms brushed, and I felt a spark of electricity. I pulled my arm back, trying to play it cool.

As we walked, he glanced at me, and I caught a glimpse of his eyes. They were like nothing I'd ever seen before – deep, intense, and captivating. I felt a spark of curiosity, but I didn't let it show. "We're in the same school, I think," he said, breaking the silence.

"Yeah," I replied, my voice neutral. "That's great," he added, his tone a little awkward. I raised an eyebrow, amused by his nervousness. Maybe he wasn't as confident as he seemed.

"So, what's your name?" he asked, his eyes locked on mine. "I'm Olivia Davies," I replied, my voice firm. "I'm Brian Kings," he said, his smile widening. "Nice to meet you, Olivia."

As we continued walking, Brian asked me about the school, and I gave him a brief rundown of the different cliques and social hierarchies.

He listened intently, his eyes sparkling with interest. "So, you're a senior, huh?" he asked, his voice filled with curiosity. "Yeah, I'm in grade 3," I replied. "Science stream?"

"Yeah, that's right," he said, his eyes lighting up. "I'm new here, so I'm still getting used to the school." I nodded, intrigued. "I've never seen you around," I said, my tone friendly. "But I'm popular in the science class, so I guess that's how I knew you were new."

He smiled, looking a little more at ease. "Thanks for the info," he said, his voice low. We walked in silence for a moment, the only sound being the rain pattering against the umbrella.

As we approached the school gate, Brian turned to me and said, "Well, thanks for letting me share your umbrella. I really appreciate it." "No problem," I replied, my voice neutral. "You're welcome to join me anytime...I mean, if it rains again," I added, trying to sound casual.

Brian chuckled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "I'll keep that in mind," he said, his voice low. "So, which class are you heading to?" I asked, his eyes locked on mine. "Just my usual class," he replied, not feeling like sharing more. "Uh-huh, and what's that?" I pressed on, my curiosity getting the better of me.

He raised an eyebrow, looking slightly annoyed. "Uhmmm...my class, of course," he said, trying to brush me off. I looked at Brian, my expression confused. "Come on, can't you just tell me?" I asked, my tone taking on a slightly demanding edge.

He felt a spark of irritation ignite within him. "Why do you need to know?" He shot back, his voice rising. "I'm just trying to make conversation," i said, my voice calm, but with a hint of defensiveness.

"Well, I'm not interested in making conversation with you," Brian said, my tone sharp. My eyes narrowed, and i took a step closer to him. "Excuse me?" I said, my voice low and even. "I think you're being pretty rude, considering I just shared your umbrella with you." He said.

I felt my anger flare up. "Rude? You're the one who's being pushy and nosy," he said, his voice rising. "I'm just trying to get to class, and you're standing here asking me a million questions. Can't you just leave me alone?"

My face darkened, and i took another step closer to his. "You know, you're not as nice as you seem," i said, my voice dripping with annoyance. "I was just trying to be friendly, and you repay me by being rude and ungrateful."

I felt a surge of indignation. "Ungrateful? You're the one who's being ungrateful," he said, his voice hot. "I'm the one who let you share my umbrella, and now you're complaining about it?"

The argument escalated, with neither of us willing to back down. Finally, Brian threw up his hands and said, "Forget it. I don't need this." He turned and walked away, leaving me standing alone under the umbrella, feeling frustrated and annoyed.
