For three years, Allison played the perfect First Lady in a marriage that never gave her love back. Nolan handed her divorce papers, sneering at her background while his mother mocked her as barren and his pregnant mistress claimed her place. So Allison walked away. On the very day she left him, the royal family reclaimed her as their lost princess. Crown, fortune, power, three terrifying brothers, and a handpicked royal consort now stood at her side. Her eldest brother-the world's most feared arms dealer-pushed a black card across the table. "Go on. Spend whatever you like." Her second brother-the genius doctor-twirled a scalpel between his fingers. "Tell me, sis. How many cuts do the ones who hurt you deserve?" Her third brother-a global martial arts superstar-stormed into her ex-husband's lair. "Who made my sister cry? Time to face the music." When her regretful ex begged for another chance, Allison only smiled. It was too late. She was no longer his wife. She was his worst mistake.

First Lady Out, Your Majesty In Chapter 1 Let's Get A Divorce

"Has your husband not arrived yet?"

A young resident doctor stood there with several surgical consent forms in hand, waiting for a family member to sign for Allison Fulton.

On the hospital bed, Allison curled into herself. Her face had turned pale, and she held her phone in a weak grip while the pain in her abdomen kept surging through her body.

She had been diagnosed with acute appendicitis and needed surgery right away. Yet no matter how many times she called, her husband never answered.

Everything in the operating room was ready, but she was still waiting for her husband's signature.

"He is very busy," Allison replied.

Nolan Reid was her husband. As the current President, his schedule ran from morning until night. His time had never belonged to her alone.

"Too busy to care about your well-being?" The doctor let out a frustrated breath. "No matter how packed his schedule is, can he really be busier than the President? Even the President made time to accompany his fiancée to a prenatal checkup today."

Those words struck Allison without warning.

"W-what did you say?" Her voice trembled. "Who's accompanying..."

The mention of the President accompanying his fiancée to a prenatal checkup pressed down on her chest and left her struggling to breathe.

At that moment, noise suddenly rose from outside the hospital room.

The doctor pointed toward the hallway. "Take a look. That's the President himself, one of the busiest men alive."

Even with the sharp pain twisting through her abdomen, Allison lifted her head and looked. A tall man in a neat suit walked past the room. Lines of bodyguards followed close behind him.

Her heart felt as if something had tightened around it.

Nolan was the man she had loved for eight years, the husband she had quietly supported for three. Right now, he was wheeling a delicate woman to a prenatal checkup.

The woman was Hollie Pearson, a member of the wealthiest family in the country and the same person who had bullied her during their school years.

Allison watched what was happening outside, and it felt as if something were slowly squeezing her heart. Pain filled her chest while her husband's gentle voice reached her ears. "Don't worry, Hollie. I'm right here with you."

Allison blinked, stunned.

What about her?

Anger surged through her. She pushed the blanket aside and tried to get up, determined to walk out and demand an explanation.

Whose child was Hollie carrying that required the President himself to accompany her to a prenatal checkup while hiding it from his own wife?

But the sharp pain in Allison's abdomen struck again before she could stand. Her body collapsed back onto the bed, leaving her too weak to rise again.

The doctor stepped forward and quickly stopped her. "Don't move. Why don't you try calling your husband's office?"

Her husband's office?

Had anyone from the presidential residence ever treated her as the First Lady?

Earlier that day, when she collapsed, it was a stranger who called the ambulance.

"I might as well already be a widow," Allison said as despair filled her voice. She rolled on the bed while the pain continued and clawed at the sheets.

"Damn it!" She grabbed the doctor's sleeve with all the strength she had left. "Can I just sign it myself?"

The laparoscopic surgery eventually went through successfully, and the hospital required Allison to stay there for two days.

No one came to take care of her. She lay there with pain running through her body, and sleep would not come.

At half past one in the morning, she was about to fall asleep when her phone rang and woke her.

The caller was Nolan.

"Allison, since when did it become acceptable for you to stay out all night?" Nolan said. "Just because I didn't answer your calls during the day, you decided to throw a tantrum like this?"

His voice carried clear frustration and blame, and it lacked the care and worry a husband should have shown.

He even compared her with Hollie, saying, "How long are you planning to keep acting like this? If you could just learn to be sensible like Hollie..."

Allison's wound continued to throb, leaving her without the strength to argue with him.

Nolan did not wait for her response. "Come back right now," he said. "I need to talk to you."

There was no room for refusal in his tone. "Don't force me to send someone to bring you back."

An hour later, Allison returned to the presidential residence in a taxi.

The lights in the second-floor living room of the main building were still on. Inside, a man sat on the sofa with his legs crossed. He looked cold and difficult to approach. Yet the lighting around him made his figure appear slightly warm.

For the first time since their three years of marriage began, Nolan was the one waiting for her. That stirred Allison's heart for a brief moment.

"Why did you come back so late? Where exactly have you been?" Nolan said as he pinched the bridge of his nose. He did not lift his head when she approached.

He had repeated the same expectation many times before. What he wanted was a wife who was obedient and understanding.

Why couldn't Allison just act the way he wanted?

A tight feeling rose in Allison's chest. She answered him with a sharp tone, "Oh? I went to a club and enjoyed the company of eight gigolos. Does that answer satisfy you, Mr. President?"

If Nolan had taken a proper look at her, he would have noticed how weak she appeared.

"Allison!" Nolan finally set the documents aside and lifted his gaze, irritation clear in his voice.

His eyes moved across her pale face, and for a brief moment, his expression softened slightly. The sharpness in his voice eased. "What's going on with you? Are you not feeling well?" he asked.

Allison didn't answer his question.

When she truly needed him, he had not been there for her. Now that she was standing in front of him, what was the point of him pretending to care?

She only asked, "Why did you call me back?"

Nolan kept his eyes on her for nearly half a minute. After that pause, he slid a document across the table toward her. "Let's get a divorce. Hollie is pregnant, and the prenatal results aren't good. She is dealing with prenatal depression and has suicidal tendencies. The doctor said she needs a husband's care."

He stopped speaking for a moment, and a trace of tenderness appeared in his eyes without him realizing it. "Allison, I need you to endure this for now. We'll separate for the time being. After Hollie gives birth and the child has a proper status, I'll divorce her and marry you again."

I was once the heiress to the Solomon empire, but after it crumbled, I became the "charity case" ward of the wealthy Hyde family. For years, I lived in their shadows, clinging to the promise that Anson Hyde would always be my protector. That promise shattered when Anson walked into the ballroom with Claudine Chapman on his arm. Claudine was the girl who had spent years making my life a living hell, and now Anson was announcing their engagement to the world. The humiliation was instant. Guests sneered at my cheap dress, and a waiter intentionally sloshed champagne over me, knowing I was a nobody. Anson didn't even look my way; he was too busy whispering possessively to his new fiancée. I was a ghost in my own home, watching my protector celebrate with my tormentor. The betrayal burned. I realized I wasn't a ward; I was a pawn Anson had kept on a shelf until he found a better trade. I had no money, no allies, and a legal trust fund that Anson controlled with a flick of his wrist. Fleeing to the library, I stumbled into Dallas Koch-a titan of industry and my best friend's father. He was a wall of cold, absolute power that even the Hydes feared. "Marry me," I blurted out, desperate to find a shield Anson couldn't climb. Dallas didn't laugh. He pulled out a marriage agreement and a heavy fountain pen. "Sign," he commanded, his voice a low rumble. "But if you walk out that door with me, you never go back." I signed my name, trading my life for the only man dangerous enough to keep me safe.

I went to the City Clerk’s office for a routine copy of my marriage license to finalize a trust fund audit. I expected a simple piece of paper, but the clerk’s pitying look told me my entire life was a lie. "The license was never finalized, Ms. Oliver. In the eyes of the state, you are single." The three-hundred-guest wedding at the Plaza and the Vogue features meant nothing. My husband, Gray Cooley, had intentionally filed the documents with a "procedural defect" so he could discard me without a legal divorce. Moments later, an iCloud invite titled "Our Little Secret" popped up on my screen. It was a photo of my best friend, Brylee, holding a positive pregnancy test at our Hamptons estate. Gray’s text to her was the final blow: "Happy anniversary, babe. This baby is the best gift. Once the trust unlocks today, we’re done with the charade." I soon discovered they were even stealing my career, reassigning my architectural masterpiece to Brylee while preparing my eviction notice. Gray's mother called me a "barren mule" in a leaked recording, mocking the infertility I suffered after saving Gray’s life in a construction accident. I wasn't a wife; I was a three-year placeholder used to secure his inheritance. How could the man I bled for treat me like a disposable prop? How could my best friend carry his child while pretending to comfort me through my darkest moments? The betrayal burned until it turned into a cold, hard stone of fury. I didn't cry. Instead, I walked into the penthouse of the Barretts, the Cooleys' most powerful rivals. I signed a marriage contract with Kane Barrett, the man the tabloids called the "Beast of Wall Street." "I want a wedding," I told his father, my voice steady and lethal. "Bigger than the one I had with Gray." If they wanted me gone, they would have to watch me become the woman who owns their world.

The Ghost Wife's Billion Dollar Tech Comeback

Today is October 14th, my birthday. I returned to New York after months away, dragging my suitcase through the biting wind, but the VIP pickup zone where my husband's Maybach usually idled was empty. When I finally let myself into our Upper East Side penthouse, I didn't find a cake or a "welcome home" banner. Instead, I found my husband, Caden, kneeling on the floor, helping our five-year-old daughter wrap a massive gift for my half-sister, Adalynn. Caden didn't even look up when I walked in; he was too busy laughing with the girl who had already stolen my father's legacy and was now moving in on my family. "Auntie Addie is a million times better than Mommy," my daughter Elara chirped, clutching a plush toy Caden had once forbidden me from buying for her. "Mommy is mean," she whispered loudly, while Caden just smirked, calling me a "drill sergeant" before whisking her off to Adalynn's party without a second glance. Later that night, I saw a video Adalynn posted online where my husband and child laughed while mocking my "sensitive" nature, treating me like an inconvenient ghost in my own home. I had spent five years researching nutrition for Elara's health and managing every detail of Caden's empire, only to be discarded the moment I wasn't in the room. How could the man who set his safe combination to my birthday completely forget I even existed? The realization didn't break me; it turned me into ice. I didn't scream or beg for an explanation. I simply walked into the study, pulled out the divorce papers I'd drafted months ago, and took a black marker to the terms. I crossed out the alimony, the mansion, and even the custody clause-if they wanted a life without me, I would give them exactly what they asked for. I left my four-carat diamond ring on the console table and walked out into the rain with nothing but a heavily encrypted hard drive. The submissive Mrs. Holloway was gone, and "Ghost," the most lethal architect in the tech world, was finally back online to take back everything they thought I'd forgotten.
