Chapter 1 Genesis

CHAPTER ONE

Eric honey hurry up, you need to get ready for your first day in college, coming aunt. Ah yuck 'coming aunty'. My name is Erica and am 17 is my first day in college but not that anybody knows or cares. As I applied my lipstick I notice a voice mail from my fan Renee she is like a die hard fan and also Eric did I mention he has a crush on me so disguising as I pick up my phone I saw fifty-five million comment on my latest outfit which includes Eric's thought and I quote' you look lovely wanna kiss you. Of all my followers he is the most ahh. Eric you coming or am going to come up there and give you a bathe. Coming, geez I wonder what I doing that took me from the mirror to the bed. As I got into the car I grumbled.

Aunt Jeaner do you really have to take me to school I could get a cab you know, and miss out on your first day at college not a chance. "Aunt Jeaner has being more than a guardian to me, she has done the impossible becoming both a mother and a father figure to me sacrificing her own happiness for me and being there for me in every single moment". "Once she turn down a business suitor simply because he told her to put me in a boarding school. On my thirteen birthday she had a job offer at some fancy place but she left it came to my school gift in hand just to wish me happy birthday. I sometimes think about my parents but I don't know anything about them I don't even remember their faces they died was all I know how they died. It's a different matter asking' my aunt was not an option, the last time I did she broke down in tears for almost a week whenever I try to think of my mum aunt Jeaner face is the only face I see. I know we are connected to the famous sun silk mirror company but that's for later even I don't understand it myself, one of the reasons I chose this college was to find that out and also see my crush Erica Bells also known as queen B. So thats actually two reasons.

Hey, be good okay here is your timetable, here is your locker number and make some new friends I want the dits when I get back okay she kisses my head and left I nicknamed her wonder woman for the multi-- task she does.

The bells rings time for class I suppose but I saw people or rather a crowd going to the auditorium guess it's the first day orientation.

Ethan, Ethan is really here O. M. G some group of girls screamed as they ran towards the direction most people where headed, seriously what with the fuss about as I held my fingers up to admire them and then I saw him it took all Mrs Nelly training of being sophisticated not to leave my mouth open. I went to the nearest girls restroom to re- do my make up and put on my killer smile I always get what I want and what I want right now is Ethan Mortuspan. As I plan our first encounter in my head accompanied with a music ( blank space) I knew immediately what to do. Ethan was in senior year. As he gave the announcement and then welcome speech I could hear some girls whispering about how cute he is and how they would want to date him one of the girls had declare openly that she wanted a baby while other boys adored him one random dude wanted to be him, honestly I didn't see how that would turn out for him he was so fat and had a cookie in mouth like a twelve year old child and he talked in a way that made drool drop from his mouth in an irritating manner and then our eyes locked. It was like I could drop dead from his stare l couldn't breathe until he looked away and I realized I wasn't breathing I must have held it for long cause my cheeks were turning pink and I don't blush except when I wanted to but right now I would not allow him to see how much he affected me.

I couldn't believe it her eyes were a dark shade of brown or hazel I couldn't quite tell from the distance her chin were high and are lips were full and lush, pink and kissable. Damn I have only seen her once and I was already thinking of kissing her what was wrong with me she is probably a freshman and I ought to be thinking about Katy my girlfriend not this girl but I was sure I had seen her before but where? I was snapped out of my thought when Mike came to tap me, we are to have lunch remember and I heard Erica bells is in school as soon as they finish hovering around you they turn their sight on her over there. As he turn he saw her again" her smile was breath taking the way she stole the crowd was mesmerizing and I needed to talk to her to see her alone privately".

Over the crowd of people and the press I felt his stare long and hard moving across my body as if he could see right through me and if he did I hope he liked what he saw.

As I was heading toward the hall some one pulled me toward a room I didn't even notice the wall was the door or the door was the wall. Wanna get out here I noticed the crowd won't let you go since this week is for ..." I didn't let him finish." No I said sharply "I wasn't ready to leave not when Eric has got a story to tell danuty Jeaner". But you could convince me, I slipped out before he had a chance to impress me.

I have never be said no too before what wrong with me I barely know her and am already think of taking are out. Way to go Ethan. Hi am Katy and you are Erica, I know I want us to be bestie we could share a lots of things like fashions ideas, lunch tables oh and even trending topic but I never share my boyfriend Ethan Mortuspan. And she left as quickly as she has came. So he has a girl friend that was makes it so exciting the thought of her seeing us together.

I would have liked her but oh well such is life.

Hey what happened am Eric and your are?

I have to see her again and this time get her number or do anything other than just watch her leave me standing like a boy with his first crush.

Hi aunt and before you ask yes to all your questions am heading up to sleep, talk to you in the morning. Good night sweety. Good night aunt.

Aunt is something wrong your wearing that face.

No nothing dear finish up and meet me in the car. Our ride was slow she was wearing that look again that says something it wrong without actually saying it. Yesterday I had missed seeing Erica it's like whenever am this close to seeing her something just snaps it must be my amnesia it's getting worse but I refuse to tell my aunt she has done more than I could ask for the last thing I want is too be an additional burden not that am not already one. I wonder what would have happen if I had died instead? What would have happened if I had a sister?.

What's up bro. Hey Patrick, aunt this is Patrick. Patrick this is my aunt Jeaner

'Shit I had a meeting with katy and her cousin jasper what was l doing here taking her out when l don't have that time I should be with katy ahh am losing it. "April this time of the year brings confusion both in my social and private life". What are you thinking about Erica said snapping him out of thought. Sorry I gotta go. Erica could only stare at him dumb founded this is the second time and she will be damned if she let him go the third time. Hey Eric I have been looking all over for you, where have you been. Honestly I don't know I was going to the library but then, uhn uhn I heard some say queen B was just here. I didn't see her Patrick I swear and stop looking at me like that

Cut it out like jasper said shrugging we are in school care to take it to your private place. Okay let's pop some champagne and celebrate, yeah they chorus and drank, a toast to you jasper for brighter days ahead he smiled cheers. Even though he never really loved his dad his death still affected him. He wasn't a just man but he was still his father and he didn't even shed a tear for him he wonder if he is as cold hearted as his mum. Am thinking party after lectures this weekend and let see I have a special gift for you jasper. A kiss? You know how much I love it when you kiss me Katy, no silly this gift is a beautiful girl, "even though jasper and Katy has an unusual relationship it never bothered him that they kissed or did anything else for that matter right now he thought of only one person". Erica bells and Mike could have sworn he saw Ethan choke, Erica what !!! Erica Bells the social life she won the most beautiful girl in America and most loved celebrity twice now, her curves are just made to kill. Shut the fuck up you mean queen B. Holy Molly Katy you have out done yourself really, cheers to you and to my future with this Miss Bells.

Ethan are you okay your mood swings are kinda give me whiplash "Katy said" looking somber as she walked over to kiss him long and hard he had jasper groan and Mike sigh in disgust he didn't care though he pull her down to him as her continued to kiss her forcing Erica memory away from his thoughts.

I sat on the edge of the examination table, the crinkle of the sanitary paper sounding like thunder in the sterile room. The doctor didn't even look at me as he confirmed the news: the pregnancy was over. My husband, Keyon, didn't answer my call. He just sent an automated text: "In a meeting." When I returned to our cold mansion, I found his iPad glowing with a message from his "muse," Katina. He was throwing her a secret gala tonight-on our third wedding anniversary. He told her he couldn't wait to escape the "boring" and "draining" atmosphere I created at home. Keyon didn't stumble in until 3 AM, smelling of Katina's perfume with a smear of red on his collar. When I handed him the divorce papers, he laughed in my face. He called me a "glorified housekeeper" with no skills and no future, promising I'd be back in three days begging for a subway ticket. He even bet his friends ten thousand dollars that I wouldn't survive a week without his name. He had his assistant cancel my credit cards and block my gate access before I even reached the end of the driveway. He wanted me to starve. He wanted me to crawl. He sat in his office, mocking the "desperate" woman who pawned her three-million-dollar wedding ring for scrap metal just to pay for a meal. I stood on the rainy curb, watching the man I had protected for three years treat my life like trash. He didn't know about the ultrasound I just threw in the bin. He didn't know that while he was calling me "dull," I was the one secretly writing the code that kept his billion-dollar empire from collapsing. As I slid into a cheap Uber, I opened a hidden, encrypted app on my phone. The screen refreshed to a dashboard for an account Keyon didn't know existed. The balance was ten figures long-the accumulated wealth of "Solaris," the world's most elusive tech genius. Keyon thinks he just evicted a parasite, but he's about to find out he just declared war on the only person who can hit "delete" on his entire life.

The heavy thud of the release stamp was the only goodbye I got from the warden after five years in federal prison. I stepped out into the blinding sun, expecting the same flash of paparazzi bulbs that had seen me dragged away in handcuffs, but there was only a single black limousine idling on the shoulder of the road. Inside sat my mother and sister, clutching champagne and looking at my frayed coat with pure disgust. They didn't offer a welcome home; instead, they tossed a thick legal document onto the table and told me I was dead to the city. "Gavin and I are getting engaged," my sister Mia sneered, flicking a credit card at me like I was a stray dog. "He doesn't need a convict ex-fiancƩe hanging around." Even after I saved their lives from an armed kidnapping attempt by ramming the attackers off the road, they rewarded me by leaving me stranded in the dirt. When I finally ran into Gavin, the man who had framed me, he pinned me against a wall and threatened to send me back to a cell if I ever dared to show my face at their wedding. They had stolen my biotech research, ruined my name, and let me rot for half a decade while they lived off my brilliance. They thought they had broken me, leaving me with nothing but an expired chapstick and a few old photos in a plastic bag. What they didn't know was that I had spent those five years becoming "Dr. X," a shadow consultant with five hundred million dollars in crypto and a secret that would bring the city to its knees. I wasn't just a victim anymore; I was a weapon, and I was pregnant with the heir they thought they had erased. I walked into the Melton estate and made an offer to the most powerful man in New York. "I'll save your grandfather's life," I told Horatio Melton, staring him down. "But the price is your last name. I'm taking back what's mine, and I'm starting with the man who thinks he's marrying my sister."

Today is October 14th, my birthday. I returned to New York after months away, dragging my suitcase through the biting wind, but the VIP pickup zone where my husband’s Maybach usually idled was empty. When I finally let myself into our Upper East Side penthouse, I didn’t find a cake or a "welcome home" banner. Instead, I found my husband, Caden, kneeling on the floor, helping our five-year-old daughter wrap a massive gift for my half-sister, Adalynn. Caden didn’t even look up when I walked in; he was too busy laughing with the girl who had already stolen my father’s legacy and was now moving in on my family. "Auntie Addie is a million times better than Mommy," my daughter Elara chirped, clutching a plush toy Caden had once forbidden me from buying for her. "Mommy is mean," she whispered loudly, while Caden just smirked, calling me a "drill sergeant" before whisking her off to Adalynn’s party without a second glance. Later that night, I saw a video Adalynn posted online where my husband and child laughed while mocking my "sensitive" nature, treating me like an inconvenient ghost in my own home. I had spent five years researching nutrition for Elara’s health and managing every detail of Caden’s empire, only to be discarded the moment I wasn't in the room. How could the man who set his safe combination to my birthday completely forget I even existed? The realization didn't break me; it turned me into ice. I didn't scream or beg for an explanation. I simply walked into the study, pulled out the divorce papers I’d drafted months ago, and took a black marker to the terms. I crossed out the alimony, the mansion, and even the custody clause—if they wanted a life without me, I would give them exactly what they asked for. I left my four-carat diamond ring on the console table and walked out into the rain with nothing but a heavily encrypted hard drive. The submissive Mrs. Holloway was gone, and "Ghost," the most lethal architect in the tech world, was finally back online to take back everything they thought I’d forgotten.

I was finally brought back to the billionaire Vance estate after years in the grimy foster system, but the luxury Lincoln felt more like a funeral procession. My biological family didn't welcome me with open arms; they looked at me like a stain on a silk shirt. They thought I was a "defective" mute with cognitive delays, a spare part to be traded away. Within hours of my arrival, my father decided to sell me to Julian Thorne, a bitter, paralyzed heir, just to secure a corporate merger. My sister Tiffany treated me like trash, whispering for me to "go back to the gutter" before pouring red wine over my dress in front of Manhattan's elite. When a drunk cousin tried to lay hands on me at the engagement gala, my grandmother didn't protect me-she raised her silver-topped cane to strike my face for "embarrassing the family." They called me a sacrificial lamb, laughing as they signed the prenuptial agreement that stripped me of my freedom. They had no idea I was E-11, the underground hacker-artist the world was obsessed with, or that I had already breached their private servers. I found the hidden medical records-blood types A, A, and B-a biological impossibility that proved my "parents" were harboring a scandal that could ruin them. Why bring me back just to discard me again? And why was Julian Thorne, the man supposedly bound to a wheelchair, secretly running miles at dawn on his private estate? Standing in the middle of the ballroom, I didn't plead for mercy. I used a text-to-speech app to broadcast a cold, synthetic threat: "I have the records, Richard. Do you want me to explain genetics to the press, or should we leave quietly?" With the "paralyzed" billionaire as my unexpected accomplice, I walked out of the Vance house and into a much more dangerous game.
