My dream lover(Mystery behind the locks and love) Chapter 1 August Visitor

The dream lover(Mystery behind the locks and love)

Chapter 1.

The August Visitor.

In the rain, at seven o'clock in the night, I looked down the street and saw a drunkard smoking in the heavy rain. The road was so muddy that those who were just coming back from work walked bare footed in the mud. I was about sleeping when I heard a knock on the door. I looked at the wall clock on the wall, opposite my bed and saw that it was already late. I was scared because I was expecting no one. Even if it was a visitor, It couldn't be at such a deadly hour. I summoned courage and when I got to the door, I took a few steps backward when I noticed that someone had just entered into the room.

I took a spatula to hit him on the head because I had that instinct that someone was in the house but before I could turn back, someone stabbed me. The stabber was a very black guy, whom I thought should be a Ghanian just like me. I groaned and grunted in pain when my hands were tied to the green painted iron sofa while I was being treated by the stabber. He asked me to promise that I would keep this event a secret which I never thought I could tell anyone about.. The secret was all about how I got injured by being stabbed....

That was how our friendship started since he told me his own side of the story. He told me that he lost his two sisters due to lots of maltreatments his sister's had with his mum just because she wasn't their mother. I felt pity for him when he said that they escaped from home and we're no where to be found. I couldn't utter any word and so I kept quiet. The guy said his name was parmer and I also told him that my name was Pamela. He asked to sleep at my home but since I was in a room self contain apartment, I could not refuse and neither would I have agreed to harbor a criminal in my home. I was caught in between thoughts. I never knew who he was; how do I even explain it? Should I say Yes or No? What should I say? He was a stranger that I haven't met before. These were the questions that kept running in my mind, and so I became confused and torn in the midst of these rheotorical questions, not knowing what to say or what to go for. I didn't know what to choose so I kept quiet when Parmer tried un-tieing me from the old sofa he tied me to while he was treating me.. Why he said kept running into my mind, he asked me to keep it a secret. Was anything else behind the missing sisters? He said "No". But I wanted to help him find his missing sisters. So I voiced out and said "Yes". He could stay at my home. I didn't know when that came out of my mouth, and the funniest part was that I couldn't reverse it because I didn't want to be double minded. But I could see it in his face that he was filled with joy and so because he was overwhelmed with joy, he tried standing up but when he stood up, I asked him to lift me up since I was already weak due to the knife stab. He did agreed lift me up, he stretched his hands towards me and I also stretched mine towards him. In the course/process of dragging me up , he hit his leg on the old steel sofa and so he slumped on me. I was knocked unconscious. I did not know what to do neither did I know where the strength came from. I stood up and left him on the floor. I asked him to sleep in the room, while I slept in the tight and empty store room. I wasn't comfortable but I had to manage. The next day, when I woke up, I headed straight to the bathroom forgetting that I had an August Visitor at home while I dashed into the bathroom and saw him. It was parmer. I thanked my stars that he had taken his bath already and he was only brushing his teeth.

I was once the princess of the Upper East Side, but now I’m just "debt wrapped in pretty skin." To keep my father alive in a federal penitentiary, I signed a contract I didn't fully understand. I thought it was about restoring my family's name, but producer Barnett Orr treated it like a bill of sale for my soul. Inside his limousine, the air smelled like gasoline and fear. Barnett didn't want a star; he wanted a victim. He bruised my jaw and ripped my vintage silk gown to shreds, laughing because he knew I couldn't fight back without signing my father's death warrant. "Don't forget who owns you, Felicity," he whispered. When he dragged me into Dewitt Knight’s penthouse party, I was a walking disaster. I huddled in Barnett’s oversized jacket, my lip bleeding and my spirit shattered. The elite crowd didn't see a victim; they saw a fallen girl selling herself for a role. A former rival poured red wine over me, and the room erupted in cruel laughter while Barnett told everyone he was just "testing my commitment." I looked up at the balcony, locking eyes with Dewitt Knight. He was a god in a bespoke suit, looking down at me with cold, lethal disgust. He didn't see the bruises or the desperation. He only saw a transaction he found beneath him. "So the rumors are true," he said, his voice cutting through the music. "The Aguilars really will do anything for money now. Even this." I was trapped between a monster who wanted to break me and a man who thought I was trash. No one cared that my father's life depended on my silence. When Barnett cornered me in a guest room later that night, his belt jingling like a death knell, I realized no one was coming to save a girl like me. I fought back with a crystal vase, shattering it against his shoulder, but I was drowning in my own terror. Just as Barnett lunged for my throat, the door was kicked off its hinges. Dewitt stood there, finally seeing the blood on the carpet and the map of purple bruises on my bare back. He chased the monster away, but I didn't feel safe. I locked the guest room door, wedged a chair under the handle, and slept with a silver letter opener pressed against my skin. When I crept into the kitchen at midnight and found him waiting in the shadows, I aimed the blade at his heart. "In this house, no one hurts you," he promised, his voice a low velvet rumble. But in a world where I had already been sold once, I knew that even protection came with a price I couldn't afford to pay.

The Billionaire's Secret Triplets: Mom's Revenge

HONEY MULLINS

Six years ago, I was a naive girl sold by my father to the powerful Sanders estate, only to be tossed onto the streets after a brutal assault they labeled "marital infidelity." I fled the country pregnant and broken, hiding from the shadow of a husband I had never even met. Now, I've returned to New York with my triplets to sign the final divorce papers and disappear forever. But Archibald Sanders-the man I was told was a crippled recluse-intercepted us with the cold precision of a predator. He didn't see the woman his family destroyed; he saw a gold-digger who had shamed his name. His security team hunted us to a grimy motel, using tactical force to snatch my children away and drag me to his glass-walled empire. In his office, he loomed over me, demanding a DNA test and threatening to throw me in prison while my babies were lost to the foster system. He was convinced I'd cheated, yet he stared at my sons with a haunting confusion, unable to ignore the stormy blue eyes that were a perfect mirror of his own. I stood there, paralyzed by his scent-the sharp tang of rain and expensive leather that triggered the icy dread of my worst nightmares. How could he accuse me of betrayal when he felt exactly like the monster who had shattered my life in that dark hotel room? "I'll sign anything," I sobbed, "just give me my kids." But the game changed when my five-year-old son hacked the tower's security, holding the skyscraper hostage to save me. In the chaos, a fragile, silent boy-Archibald's secret son-wandered into the room and reached for me as if I were his missing soul. Archibald's face turned to stone as he tore up the agreement and locked the doors. "Until I find out why my son is looking at you like that," he growled, "you aren't going anywhere."

The Cold CEO's Unwanted Genius Wife

I stood in the darkest corner of the Pierre Hotel’s ballroom, my cheap polyester dress itching against my skin while my wristband buzzed with a DARPA Priority Red alert. In front of the city’s elite, my fiancé Bryce Calloway took the stage, not to toast our future, but to publicly end our engagement and announce he was with my sister, Chloe. The room turned on me instantly, a hundred pairs of eyes pinning me down with pity and disgust as they physically backed away like I was contagious. When I returned home, my mother shattered a crystal vase at my feet, screaming that I was a humiliation and a "dropout" who didn't deserve a cent of the family fortune. Chloe and Bryce mocked me, laughing when I told them I had a mission with the National Security Agency, convinced I was either a pathological liar or a low-level criminal. They watched in horror as a black, unmarked military helicopter descended on our backyard to extract me, yet they still chose to believe I was being arrested for drug trafficking. They saw a pathetic girl who couldn't even parallel park, never realizing I was Dr. Nova Vance, the lead physicist behind the world's first successful fusion reactor. To secure funding for my research and gain a "fortress" of a name, I signed a thirty-day marriage contract with the arrogant billionaire Roman Knight. He treats me like a fraud, convinced I’m a gold-digger who failed out of college, while I quietly run global energy simulations from his guest bedroom. He has no idea that the "loser" he’s forced to live with is the same anonymous grandmaster who has been ruthlessly crushing him in online strategy games for months. "The contract is active," I told him, looking past his expensive suit. "But don't expect me to be your maid."
