Max and Jake finds themselves in a mysterious world after going through a magical door while trying to escape the hordes of hell after them
Gog with a blood stained sword walked through his crowd of demon army to get to the front where his next victims were tied up waiting for him. Normally, Gog would have had his army deal with this victims. But these were not other victims. Capturing them was assurance that his quest of seeking to rule Shadow Vale would be successful.
There were two men tied up. They were covered with bruises and their clothes were stained with blood.
"At last, I finally capture the almighty Hunters." Gog said proudly. Then he said aloud so his army could hear him better. "Look, we have captured Shadow Vale's Hunters. They were our only obstacle in conquering Shadow Vale but now that we have them, Shadow Vale is ours!" His army cheered him as sign of belief in him.
He said to his victims. "Surrender and join my quest or die."
One of the Hunters who was a blonde replied. " I think we will pass."
Gog scoffed. "You both know I won't spare you."
"We know but dying is better than watching you go on with your madness." The black skinned hunter replied.
Gog was enraged at this. With his sword pointed at the black skinned hunter's throat, he warned. " Don't you dare call this quest madness."
"Or what?" The black guy asked.
"Or I will make sure none of your families survive the desolation about to come on Shadow Vale."
" As much as I would love to see you try, I can't due to my time which I believe is up."
Gog raised his sword to strike. " Yes, it is."
In the city of Carson lay an amusement park. It was filled with live cause little Annabelle Wallis was adding to her age and her parents felt it would be nice if a party was held in her honor.
Max was at that party, not because he wanted to but because his mom wished for him to be there.
Max wasn't interested in the activities going on in the party, all he cared about was the beautiful girl by at the barbecue grill. He was staring directly at the girl hoping she would see him. He could have gotten up, walked up to her and start a conversation but he couldn't because he did not know how to go about it.
Same thing was going on with Jake Livingston, a chubby and lively kid of sixteen.
Jake also was admiring this girl but like Max, he didn't have the mind to approach her.
The boys admired the girl at the barbecue grill till the party ended and everyone went home. None of them could make a move.
Max looked round him. The sky was red like blood, buildings were on fire and hailstones rained down from the sky. Dead bodies were everywhere. Max walked through the empty street. An ugly creature on four legs with wings like a bat appeared out of thin air and pounced on Max.
Max jumped out of bed sweating profusely. It was all a nightmare. But it felt real and Max couldn't explain anything. He had been having this visions since he turned sixteen earlier that year. What was going on with him, he couldn't explain.
Max walked unnoticed through the crowded locker hall of Carson High. He was invincible to the people around him and he was comfortable with it. It was the life he chose for himself.
Max opened his locker so he could rearrange his books. He was distracted by the discussion going on behind him.
"I tell you, it feels real like I was actually there." A familiar voice said.
Another replied. "Dude, it's just a nightmare and nothing more."
"Maybe it's God trying to show me something."
Max Didn't plan on involving himself but the mention of the word God irritated him. He was someone who believed in rationality rather than religion.
"It's not God." Max spoke and the two boys looked at him.
"And how sure are you?"
"Cause I see them too." Max replied.
Jake thinking it was impossible, scoffed. "That's impossible!"
"In your nightmare, you see a world being destroyed and desolate."
Jake became speechless.
" I started seeing them when I turned sixteen and I bet it's the same with you."
Jake had finally seen someone who would understand what he was going through.
Jake's friend still didn't see any reason why Jake's dream should be taken seriously. All he was seeing was two lunatics.
"I will meet the school counselor so she can book an appointment with you two." He said to the boys.
The school counselor was a lady in her early fifties. She wore glasses which gave her a smart look.
" What do you see?" She asked Jake.
Jake explained everything to her and so did max when it was his turn.
She told the boys individually. "You see this is one of the effects of puberty."
"Huh?" Jake was shocked.
"Just don't think of it and it will gradually fade away."
"Just don't think of it and it will gradually fade away." Jake mimicked the counselor on their way out of school. "Our counselor does not know her job."
"Maybe she's right. These might be the effects of puberty."
Jake threw him a surprise stare. "You too?"
"Yeah, me too."
They reached a junction which led to Max's home.
"So, we will be seeing each other, right?" Max asked.
"Don't worry, dude."
They shook hands and went separate ways.
That night, a ripple happened in the fabric of reality and it happened in the school.
A little hole appeared at first and it kept on getting wider till an ugly beast on four jumped out of it and ten others followed before a yellow skinned man with black hair and a handsome face dressed in a black suit stepped out of the ripple.
"What do we do, commander?" One of the ugly beasts asked him.
He walked to the classroom window and stared down. He saw the school counselor walking out of the school premises.
"We find and kill him,"
"How do we do that?"The demon asked.
The commander didn't reply, instead he wore an evil grin on his face.
The counselor walked the chilly streets with her hand tucked in her jacket. She had the feeling bthat someone was following her. She ran without looking back. She was running too fast and she bumped into the commander.
"Please, don't kill me." She pleaded with the commander.
"I won't, as long as you tell me what I want to hear."
Jake was passing by when he saw them.
"That's one of them!" The counselor said aloud.
Jake didn't need anyone to tell him that he was in danger. He took to his heels headed for Max's house in order to lead them away from his family.
Max was awoken by sounds coming from the door downstairs.
He opened it and Jake walked in sweating and breathing heavily.
"What happened to you?"
"It's some horrible looking creature. They are after me."
Before Max could reply, an ugly creature jumped in through the window. It was about pouncing on Jake when an arrow flew into it turning it to ashes. Max looked back to see the shooter and was shocked to see that it was his mother.
"Mom?"
"There's no time to explain." Mrs. Lloris replied as she led the kids to a door in her wardrobe. The door had a three symbols which indicated the three elements.
"Go through the door and find Campbell."
"What about you, mom?" Max asked.
" Don't worry, I will be right behind you." She replied.
Max opened the door and a bright light ensued out of its interior.
" Go! Just know that I love you."
Max didn't know what was in the other side but neither did he know that such a door was in his home.
Max hesitated but Jake jumped in and then he followed.
