Chapter 1 Love In The Desert. Chapter one

" Janet! Janet! Janet you need to hurry up. We're going to miss the flight Honey". Mr Jones said.

" Am coming okay. I need to pack all my things." Janet said to her father and opened the

Wardrobe, she unpacked all the clothes, put them on the bed. The keeps searching the rail of the wardrobe as if she has lost a gold but it wasn't a gold, it's her mother's box. She kept it there since the day her mother handed it over to her. She said her mother gave it to her so she must give it to her daughter too.

After finding the lacklace , she kept on glaring at it. It looks like she's emotionally touched, she later dropped it in her hand bag. She moved to the bed side table and Drew it forward, picked all her books and writing materials. That's all she could take. The bed , wardrobe, mirror, rug, fitted carpet and the likes can't be taken along .

She packed all her little belongings into a travelling bag and a travel for along with it. She went to the living room with her bags and saw her father sitting on the white sofa, who was already waiting for her.

" What keep you so long honey? Is not as if we're talking the whole house with us." Mr. Jones said joking, bent down to pick up his bags.

" What's the use? Not as if you care." Janet said in a rude way.

" Janet! What's that for? Look here baby, am doing this for us okay. This is for your own good." Mr. Jones shouted.

" Did you just day for my own good? You're not doing this for me but for your selfish interest . All you ever care is your business and nothing more. Since the death of mama, we've moved to different countries and now to another country. So is this still for me?" Janet said with tears .

Mr. Jones was short of words , he doesn't know whether to clap her or to console her. He's doing all possible best to make her happy but it looks like he's just making things worse.

He's not to blame, his business is the one changing his abode. No choice for him than to move along with the company. He love his business, lot of money is coming in for them and that's the reason why he was able to take care of her and her mother.

Janet out all her bags in the boot and sit at the front seat while her father drive off to the airport. After all the necessary things, the plane took off. During their flight, Janet and her father sat beside each other not even with a single conversation between them till they arrived at the airport.

" Ohhhhh my God! So this is Lagos? Not that bad. At least this is my first time in Lagos". Janet said to herself.

After their arrival, a security man came and drove them to their new home in banana island. It is a very beautiful estate with a lot of fine houses and cares. Almost everyone dressed in a fashionable way. Their ladies were attractive and sexy. She was surprised to see Nigeria in a well Shape.

They drove into a very big house. It was a semi detached house. Painted in light harsh and white colour. In the compound, there were two cars apart from the one that brought them home. Convertible and a sports car were packed while a hatchback was the one they drove in.

The house has a small garden yard like seedling, cane, cloche , vegetable patch and there was also a pond and a water feature.

The lawn was in a square form, and the border was beautified with flowers. There was even enough space in the house for them to have built a green house.

There was a sun longer, bench, trellis, conservatory and a shed. It was a beautiful house.

Their living room wasn't bad as well. There were lots of sofas like chaise longue, two seater sofa and a sofa bed. On the front wall was a television, pasted to it permanent sleep.

Infront of it was a footstool. Beside it was a shelf filled with different things. A white rug on the floor. Mp3 player on the right side table and a table lamp on occasional table, a scatter cushion wasn't excluded.

Janet's favorite place is the fireplace and to the love must part, you can't just drop things on the floor, a waste paper busket has been placed beside the occasional table. And lots of pictures on the wall and pot a plant with a house plant for beautification.

There was no place like Janet's room. She got a television Infront of her bed. Her bed was a double bed with a pink duvet. A drawer besides the wardrobe and a full length mirror at one side of the room. A dressing table and a stool. On the side of the bed was a table lamp and a clock radio on it. The rug wasn't excluded. Janet put all her mother's picture and few of hers and her father on the wall and a sofa bed was there too.

Janet love their new home especially her room. She never thought Nigeria will be a better like this or a place for her to live in. But she never can say, it depends on what happen here.

" So honey, what do you think about this place?"

Mr. Jones asked.

" Not that bad " Janet replied shaking her head.

" I hope you find a perfect man here at the right time". He said with so much conscience. While Janet gave him a brittle laugh.

" No! No! Am not gonna like that. I don't pray for such to happen." Janet spat out.

" Seriously, Nigerians are good , loving, honest and caring. You will enjoy them just like your mother did."

Mr. Joens said, giving her a tender part of reassurance.

" Ohh! Okay! Am not gonna argue with you dad. I believe you man." Janet said placing a cup of orange juice into her mouth.

" You have to baby. That's the truth about we Nigerians and our ladies are very pretty, kind, loving, honest, loyal and well behaved just like you and your mother." Me. Joens said trying to praise and make her feel lovely.

" Emmmmm! Alright man, am going to my to get some rest and you should do the same." Janet said, stood up and left for her room.

Mr Jones was happy, he can't even remember the last time he had a good conversation with his daughter. Yeah , that's was when her mother was still alive. Ever since her death, the bound between them has been broken. It was a bad experience.

Now that the relationship is good , he thought maybe things will definitely change for them. All he want is for Janet to he happy and nothing more. He want to see her smiling once again and to see the best in her again.
