Maya is a kind and gentle girl who lives in the village with her mother while Noura, her older sister is in the city. One day, Maya's mother makes her understand that she wants her to go to the city to meet her sister in order to give her body to rich men to get money but Maya refuses. She then begins to suffer the malice of her mother and one day, she agrees to go to the city. Once there, Noura introduces her to Idriss, a very rich businessman and tells her that she has to be with him in order to get a lot of money but what nobody knows is that Maya instead of doing what she was asked to do in the city, is going to fall in love with his little brother named Adam who is crazy and what she is going to discover about his madness is going to shock everybody...
"Mom, I already told you that she will never change! I don't understand her, since last year when I insisted that she come to live the same life as me in the city, she refused. She is so stupid", said Noura.
"I agree with you Noura! What kind of child did I give birth to like that?
"Talk to her again, Mom, and maybe she'll change her mind. I have to get ready for an appointment with the minister, mom!
"I am so proud of you! I'm proud to have you as my daughter! At least you know how to make money. You are not like your sister who spends her time in the field and refuses to go to the city like you. That one really pisses me off!
"Don't worry mom, I'm sure she'll change her mind! See you later!
"See you later my darling daughter!
Noura is 25 years old and she is the first daughter of mom Tina. She is 1m70 for 56 kg so she is rather skinny. She is brunette and very beautiful!
It's been two years since she left the village to find a better life in the city... She used her charm and beauty to succeed and it worked. Her mother encourages her and is proud of her.
She is the opposite of her little sister Maya, 22 years old. The latter has a dark black complexion and does not know the things of the city. She doesn't know how to put on makeup or how to dress in a sexy way, in short there are many things she doesn't know yet.
Mom Tina always wanted her to follow the path of her older sister but she refused. She preferred to stay in the village to fight to earn her money and other needs with dignity.
That Saturday morning, she went to the well to get water while her mother was talking to her older sister on the phone.
When the call ended, she came home. She found her mother whispering as she sat on the couch.
"Cr container of water is heavy! Mommy sorry come help me get it off my head" Maya asked mother as she entered the living room.
Her mother looked at her from head to toe in a strange way, as if to say, "Do it without me" and then she said, "You refused to do what your sister did, so do it in your pain, whatever!
She got up and went to her room, leaving Maya alone in the living room.
Maya managed to put the can on the floor by herself and then went to sit on a chair on the veranda.
She was sad and lonely. Since her sister moved to the city two years ago, she had been lonely. No matter what she did, she was told, "Go to the city and find a better place. She was fed up and couldn't stand being put down all the time by being told that her sister was better than her and that she was always being asked to go to the city.
Fortunately for her, she had a comforter, this friend to whom she told all her problems: God.
There was a prayer she always prayed: "Lord, you see what is happening and you know that I don't want the life I am being offered. Help me to get out of it, give me the strength to overcome everything. That day, she prayed the same prayer again before going to the field to break the corn cobs and go home with them to boil them in hot water to eat them.
Corn could be sown and harvested at any time in this village called "Mbouda".
A village located in Cameroon, more precisely in the West, among the "Bamilékés".
In the city, it was not the same as in Douala, where Noura was located. The land was not very good to cultivate at all times, so we had to wait for the rainy season to do so.
In any case, Maya liked her little life in the village, even though there were difficult moments. She was content to eat organic food that was not chemically processed and she sometimes boasted that the villagers eat better than the city people.
After boiling the corn cobs in a small kitchen outside the house, she put two cobs in the dish to give to her mother but her mother refused.
"Aren't you ashamed? I was born eating this kind of food and you want me to eat it again and again? If you were in town you would send me a lot of money to eat meat and this rottenness that you have in your hands"!
It was so brutal and hurtful that Maya dropped the plate.
"Mom, I already told you that I am not interested in this life. You and Noura like it, but I don't! I'd rather grow food here and sell it to get some money and as far as men go, it's not time for me yet.
I know that Noura often introduces you to people, but be patient, I too will introduce you to my man one day, when God puts me in his path"!
"So, until then you maintain the fact that you want to stay here in the village? Poor fool, get out of my room, fool that you are! I've been trying to convince you for years but you refuse! Get out of here quickly" !!!!
These words were so violent that Maya started to cry...
"I want you to love me and accept my life choice, Mom, that's all I ask!
"Your sister has appointments with ministries and businessmen. You spend your time in the field. You want me to love you, but you don't do me any good? My back hurts and it is difficult for me to work. Go to the city to get money and then build a beautiful house and give it to me so that I know I have a daughter who can give me something. Don't let your sister do everything, you can do something too!
"If I have to do all this to make you love me, I will do it, but know that..."
She didn't finish talking when her mother got up from the bed and started shouting with joy.
"Thank you dear ancestors! Your little girl has finally agreed to take me out of poverty! I can imagine her father's joy from the grave he is in!
"I have to leave you mom. I have to say goodbye to my friends before I go to the city"!
She picked up the two ears of corn that had fallen to the ground and went to say goodbye to her friends in the village.
She came home in the evening and packed her things. She didn't have many clothes and shoes anyway, so packing was quick.
After she finished, she prayed in her heart. She asked God to help her and not leave her alone in this adventure. She implored him to make sure that everything would go smoothly and that she would not have to make connections left and right to get money. Her goal was to have some, but in a dignified way!
Her mother called Noura to tell her the news so that she could pick her up in the village and bring her to town with her.
"Wait, are you kidding, Mom? Are you sure she really agreed?" asked Noura.
"It's not a joke, girl! I'm telling you that your sister has accepted!
"Wow, that's great news! That's great!
"I hope you'll connect her with wealthy men! My two girls are going to change my life!
"Trust me, Mom. In fact, the minister told me that he likes me and wants me to be his girlfriend even though he is a married man. I accepted his proposal without hesitation.
Mama Tina screamed with joy and started dancing because she was happy... She kept saying "My daughters will change my life, my daughters will change my life".
"Yes mom, we are going to change your life! What a great day! First the minister asking me to be his girlfriend, then Maya agreeing to come live in town. It's amazing!
She was very proud because of this news and decided to take the first bus of the next day to the village to pick up her sister to bring her to the city.
