Fated To Be His Debtor Chapter 1 A Prenuptial Agreement

As night fell, faint darkness gradually enveloped the whole place. Soon the moon began to shine, round like a silver tray in the clear, deep sky.

The carved gate that was tightly closed was suddenly pulled open by a strong force, letting out a huge reverberation, waking Jennifer sleeping on the sofa.

Jennifer was almost startled by the loud noise. She was struggling to find the source of the sound when her panicked eyes suddenly saw a person walking in from the door. The panic on her face immediately turned into joy.

"You're back!"

She walked barefoot, happily running to the other person's side. There were parts of comfort, parts of shyness, and a few parts of hesitation in her happy smile.

She walked to his side. The strong smell of alcohol immediately covered her sense of smell, making her frown slightly, but the smile on her face still did not diminish.

"Why do you drink so much wine? Drinking alcohol can be bad for your health. Try using less wine!"

She was like a wife grumbling in his ear. But she didn't think that responding to her concern was a mocking look.

Robert coldly glanced at Jennifer. He didn't say a word, then turned and headed for the stairs, ignoring her.

Jennifer froze. Her face was pale, really wanted to turn around and leave. But when she was thinking about the other part of the contract, she silently gritted her teeth and followed closely behind him.

"Robert . . . . . . "

Waited a month, finally waited until he returned. Tonight, she had to fulfill that part of the contract anyway.

"Robert!"

She called out to him twice, but the person in front pretended not to hear. He is still forward. His steps staggered about drunkenly as if he could fall at any moment. She was a little worried and wanted to reach out her hand to help him, but he waved his hand like chasing a fly.

"Get out now!"

Almost, Jennifer fell. She looked at his back. He is tall and outstandingly looks. If only looking at his back, there was a kind of fatal attraction, making people couldn't help but want to see his true appearance.

Moreover, his appearance also does not disappoint. His face is as if sculpted. His eyebrows are melodious. His eyes are bright and sharp, his nose is high, and his lips are attractive and smooth. Everything about him makes women crazy. They won't hesitate to give themselves to him and want to be with him forever.

He was like the most outstanding masterpiece of the heavens. His whole body exuded an extraordinary noble aura, not a single blemish could be seen on his body. People said that he was like an emperor.

Because of such excellence, wherever he goes, he is the focus of everyone's attention. He is like the brightest star in the sky, always emitting a dazzling light. This halo even dims all other light.

He is the CEO of Anthony Corporation, the only son of the Anthony family, Robert Anthony.

Rumor has it that he is one of the most acclaimed golden bachelors in the world. Rumor has it that there are countless women beside him, but he doesn't care. He still misses and doesn't forget his wife who got married less than half a month unlucky to leave him behind. And he decides that he won't marry anyone else for the rest of his life.

Rumors one by one, each was a topic for people to talk about passionately when the tea and drink were in abundance.

All these things, Jennifer has all heard. But nothing to do with her!

Between her and him, it was just a relationship contract. After the contract ends, they will become two strangers.

Thinking of that, she looked at Robert on the stairs, walking quickly:

"I'll take you back to your room."

She held his arm, stabilizing his restless body.

Robert stopped, tilted his head, and stared at her. His eyes were full of hatred and disgust.

"You just want to find a man, don't you? There are many maids in my house, I don't need your help."

The humiliating words did not make Jennifer afraid. She silently looked at him. Her beautiful face still showed a faint, bright smile that captivated and captured people's souls.

"The one I'm looking for is you! Don't forget, I got your mother's permission to enter Anthony's door!"

Robert looked at the confident expression on her face, and couldn't help but be a little stunned. But soon, his face suddenly sank, and anger showed in his eyes.

"What do you want? Who let you in? Don't bother me!". After saying that, he escaped from Jennifer's hand again and continued upstairs.

Hearing that, Jennifer was also dumbfounded, then understood. So, the contract she signed was volunteered by her and his mother, not with his consent.

No wonder, since she entered the Anthony family, he did not show his face. For a month, he did not come home. She still thought he was busy with work or on a business trip, so he didn't come home, but the real reason was avoiding her.

He was outside freely for a month, but she received all the cold eyes and cold words. Now in the Anthony family, everyone knows she is a woman who sells her body for money. Every day, every look at her is like looking at a mercenary. They are extremely contemptuous of her.

Not only that, because of her, Robert didn't come home for a month. His mother couldn't quickly have a grandson to carry and continue the family line. His mother took all of her anger out on Jennifer. Jennifer lived with Mrs. Anthony's disapproving eyes. There is also a cousin, Mary. Because she can't see Robert's face and hates Jennifer endlessly, Mary always says bitter things.

If it weren't for this money, if it weren't for her father and brother, Jennifer would have brushed her butt and left. Why would she have to live here and look at other people's faces?

No matter how you say it, she was once an aristocratic blood girl who lived a carefree life.

I stood at my mother's open grave in the freezing rain, my heels sinking into the mud. The space beside me was empty. My husband, Hilliard Holloway, had promised to cherish me in bad times, but apparently, burying my mother didn't fit into his busy schedule. While the priest's voice droned on, a news alert lit up my phone. It was a livestream of the Metropolitan Charity Gala. There was Hilliard, looking impeccable in a custom tuxedo, with his ex-girlfriend Charla English draped over his arm. The headline read: "Holloway & English: A Power Couple Reunited?" When he finally returned to our penthouse at 2 AM, he didn't come alone-he brought Charla with him. He claimed she'd had a "medical emergency" at the gala and couldn't be left alone. I found a Tiffany diamond necklace on our coffee table meant for her birthday, and a smudge of her signature red lipstick on his collar. When I confronted him, he simply told me to stop being "hysterical" and "acting like a child." He had no idea I was seven months pregnant with his child. He thought so little of my grief that he didn't even bother to craft a convincing lie, laughing with his mistress in our home while I sat in the dark with a shattered heart and a secret life growing inside me. "He doesn't deserve us," I whispered to the darkness. I didn't scream or beg. I simply left a folder on his desk containing signed divorce papers and a forged medical report for a terminated pregnancy. I disappeared into the night, letting him believe he had successfully killed his own legacy through his neglect. Five years later, Hilliard walked into "The Vault," the city's most exclusive underground auction, looking for a broker to manage his estate. He didn't recognize me behind my Venetian mask, but he couldn't ignore the neon pink graffiti on his armored Maybach that read "DEADBEAT." He had no clue that the three brilliant triplets currently hacking his security system were the very children he thought had been erased years ago. This time, I wasn't just a wife in the way; I was the one holding all the cards.

My bank account showed exactly $42.18, and my student loan notifications were flashing red. I lived in a sweltering Queens apartment with my Aunt Lydia, where the air was thick with the smell of stale frying oil and the constant threat of being homeless. Lydia handed me a grainy photo of a man twice my age and told me she had already "sold" me to him. He was a dry cleaner looking for a wife, and in exchange for my hand, he would pay off her credit cards and my debt. If I didn't show up for the date that night, my boxes would be on the curb by midnight. I arrived at the cafe in a state of panic, my selective mutism making it impossible to even breathe. In the crowded room, I accidentally sat at the wrong table. Instead of the man from the photo, I found myself facing Gerhard Holcomb—the cold, terrifyingly handsome billionaire whose family owned the very museum where I worked. He didn't send me away; instead, he studied my trembling hands and offered me a different deal: a two-year contract marriage, a two-million-dollar payout, and a strict clause forbidding any children. I signed the papers and moved into his Park Avenue penthouse, thinking I was finally safe. But when I went back to the old apartment to retrieve the only memento of my dead parents, Lydia lashed out, leaving me bleeding from a head wound. Gerhard’s retaliation was absolute—he had her arrested and her building foreclosed on within hours, claiming he was simply "protecting his assets." As I recovered in his silent, glass-walled home, I saw a call from a famous socialite flash on his phone, and a cold truth settled in my gut. I wasn't just a wife; I was a placeholder, a silent shield used to fend off the women from his past. I looked at the massive pink diamond on my finger and realized the silence I had lived in my whole life was about to become my most expensive prison. I had traded a life of poverty for a high-stakes game of shadows, and now I had to survive the man who claimed to own me.

I arrived at the hotel with Julian's favorite takeout, ready to surprise my fiancé before our big merger. But the moment I swiped the keycard, the silence of the hallway felt heavy and wrong. Inside, a red-soled stiletto lay on the marble floor-the same one I'd watched my best friend Lila try on at Saks last week. Through the cracked bedroom door, I watched Julian's back arch as Lila looked me straight in the eye and smiled, wrapping her legs tighter around him to mock my heartbreak. I fled to the penthouse to hide, only to find Grafton, Julian's "crippled" brother, waiting in the dark. To my horror, the man who was supposed to be paralyzed stood up from his wheelchair, gripped my chin with cold fingers, and forced me to sign a contract that gave him control of my family's shares. He knew about my mother's secret medical bills and used them to buy my silence, effectively turning my life into a calculated game of corporate chess. The betrayal tasted like acid, and the injustice of it all burned in my throat. My fiancé was a liar, my best friend was a thief, and the man now controlling my fate was a predator who had been faking his disability for years. I couldn't understand how everyone I trusted had turned out to be a monster. I was trapped between a man who cheated on me and a man who wanted to own me, with no way out and no one to turn to. But when Julian came looking for me, Grafton didn't hide; he stood tall, looming over me with a possessive glint in his eyes. "Help me destroy Julian," I rasped, realizing that to survive the Faulkner men, I had to become the most dangerous player of them all.

The sterile white of the operating room blurred, then sharpened, as Skye Sterling felt the cold clawing its way up her body. The heart monitor flatlined, a steady, high-pitched whine announcing her end. Her uterus had been removed, a desperate attempt to stop the bleeding, but the blood wouldn't clot. It just kept flowing, warm and sticky, pooling beneath her. Through heavy eyes, she saw a trembling nurse holding a phone on speaker. "Mr. Kensington," the nurse's voice cracked, "your wife... she's critical." A pause, then a sweet, poisonous giggle. Seraphina Miller. "Liam is in the shower," Seraphina's voice purred. "Stop calling, Skye. It's pathetic. Faking a medical emergency on our anniversary? Even for you, that's low." Then, Liam's bored voice: "If she dies, call the funeral home. I have a meeting in the morning." Click. The line went dead. A second later, so did Skye. The darkness that followed was absolute, suffocating, a black ocean crushing her lungs. She screamed into the void, a silent, agonizing wail of regret for loving a man who saw her as a nuisance, for dying without ever truly living. Until she died, she didn't understand. Why was her life so tragically wasted? Why did her husband, the man she loved, abandon her so cruelly? The injustice of it all burned hotter than the fever in her body. Then, the air rushed back in. Skye gasped, her body convulsing violently on the mattress. Her eyes flew open, wide and terrified, staring blindly into the darkness. Her trembling hand reached for her phone. May 12th. Five years ago. She was back.
