All Hera ever wanted was to be happy, but the universe seemed to not want that for her, her whole life was a mess, first, she lost her mom, and then her dancing career ended due to an anxiety disorder that she couldn't fix, she tried but it just didn't work and she had to quit, Once she had everything but it was all taking from her within a twinkle of an eye, her mom, her career, her happiness, the only thing she had left was her foster brother, whom she had fancied and idolized since she was a little girl, but he only saw her as an adult teenager who couldn't get her life in order.

Chapter 1 One

"Are you not going to call anyone or do you wanna spend the whole night in here?" The police officer who had arrested Hera asked, she didn't bother to answer his question and just kept her head down, this was the third time she was landing here this month, unlike the last two times, she wasn't at fault this time, the bitch deserved what she got for talking about her mom, no one talks about her mom, she didn't even beat her up enough to her satisfaction, she should have done more, her mom had been too good for the world and someone who didn't know her just decided to talk shit about her, ur wou

ld have been more satisfying if she had at least marked her for life, the bitch was lucky. "I am just going to call the number that is in your file, you even have a list of offenses now and the lady is pressing charges so better get a good lawyer, I am sure your brother will be able to afford it." The officer said. "Don't call him, don't fucking call him, just let me stay here and let the bitch do whatever she wants, and also he is not my brother," Hera let out, Dean wasn't her brother, he was just someone her mom took in when they were both young, they weren't related in any way and she didn't want Dean, here again, he always looks at her with so much disappointment, "Well, you don't have a choice in this, we can't keep you here, I am calling your brother/boyfriend/husband, whatever he is to you," "He is none of those, don't fucking call him, we are not related, I have a right to demand that, just transfer me to the states, send me to prison, I don't fucking care just don't get him on here," She said out loud but the officer didn't listen to her, he went ahead to dial Dean's number in her presence and spoke to him while she watched in horror, he was going to be disappointed again, she should have thought of that, this will be the third time in the space of one month that he was bailing her out of police custody, she already knew how his expression will be now, how he would be biting his lips in disappointment. Dean, she has known him since she was a little girl of seven years old and they lived together until he moved out when started his company in New York, she had still been just twelve years old then, he lived with them for five years before he moved out at twenty, yup he was eight years her senior but that didn't stop her for crushing on him since she could tell a girl from a guy,but then Dean only saw her as a younger sister and she had to suck it up and just live with that, they hardly saw each other after his business became so big and she was busy doing ballet too, the only time they saw each other were on holidays or her mom's birthday, and she made sure to keep her eyes down and talk to him as a sister then, he had been proud of her and he let her know and that had been enough for her,the fact that he was proud of her but now,not anymore, she didn't see pride in his eyes anymore when he looks at her each time he comes to bail her out, she saw disappointed and she was going to see it again today, she hated it, hated that this was all she had become, just a year ago she had be doing just fine but life decided to take everything away from her, her mom suddenly dying and just when she was starting to recover from that, her career which had helped her get over the pain of loosing her mom suddenly comes to her end, she did her best to keep her passion bit her body refused to cooperate no mater how much she tried, her therapist had done everything she could and at a point had to give her the option of quitting, guess they could say she is now on a self destruction mission, at least that's what Dean had said the last time he bailed her out. "I called him and he said he will be here shortly, whatever he is to you I think you should be thankful to him because not everyone will come running every time you get in trouble, I don't know why you can't just stay away from trouble, you don't need to fight to get your point over, there always the chance to just talk it out," The officer said. Hera didn't bother to answer him, he didn't know her, no one knows her, the only person that knew her was gone, and she was left to deal with life on her own, she damn well was doing a bad job at it and she couldn't even stop. "Hera ?" She heard Dean's voice before she saw him and yup, he had that look of disappointment, she turned her eyes away from him as he spoke to the cob, she wasn't going to look at him, neither was she going to say a word to him, he could be disappointed all he wants, none of it matters to her. "Okay, you just need to sign here, and here and then you can go, but don't forget the court dates, they will send a reminder just in case," The officer said showing her where she needed to sign, she already signed a couple of times so she knew where to, after signing the papers, she listen to the cop talk to her foster brother, and when they were done she followed him out of the station. "Thank you for bailing me out, add the money to my list of debts, I will pay it back soon, bye," She said making her was to leave. "And where do you think you are going to Hera ?" He asked grabbing her hand," "Where else? I am going home," She responded. Home, the only home she knew was no more, she couldn't stay in the house she used to live in with her mom, it hurt too much to be there and she was close to being evicted from the apartment she rented over unpaid rents. "I will take you there so get in the car," Dean said in a commanding voice. "No, I can get home on my own, you have done enough, thank you," She said and tried to leave again. "Hera , don't be stubborn or I am going to carry you and dump you in the car myself, do as I say kid," He replied. Kid? He was calling her a kid, that's what she has always been to him, no matter how hard she had tried, he never stopped seeing her as a kid even though she was a full-grown woman, and he was just eight years older, she accepted her fate a long time ago that she would always be the seven years old kid he met all those years ago, but not today, today she was going to remind him that she wasn't seven anymore that she is in fact a grown woman. "Dean, listen to me, I understand you see me as a kid but need I remind you that I am fucking twenty-three and in a few months from now I will be twenty-four, your constant behavior of addressing me as a kid should stop, and that said, I am not going with you, I have a right to refuse, I don't care what you think," She replied stubbornly. "Well, I guess this is it," He said before he lifted her up bridal style and carried her over to where his car was parked while she protested, kicked, and blow his chest, he didn't let her go until he got the car, she noticed he didn't have his car, it was a taxi and the driver was shocked when he dumped her in the back seat and held her still, she struggled the leave but his hold was strong and he was way bigger than her. "Let me go," She yelled but he didn't listen he just told the driver to drive while holding on to her, the closest she would ever get to him, she has always had a crush on him, since she was doing, he has always been her secret fantasy, not so secret though because her mom was aware that she fancies him a lot and they even had the discussion before her mom had died, she didn't keep anything away from her mom because she was her best friend. "I hate it here," She muttered, pushing out all thoughts of her mom, it only made her sad the more so she tried her best to not think about life when her mom was still here with her, it was depressing and she was already fighting so many demons, giving up and trying to leave when the car spend off into the streets of New York, he released the hold on her when he saw that she was no longer dragging, and when he did she had the sudden urge to open the door and just jump out of the moving car, it would be best to end it all but then she thought if the poor driver who would be in trouble too if that happens and decided against it, instead she rested her head on the car seat and tried to fall asleep...
