Chapter 1 The Awakening

As I ran through the woods of nowhere, I could feel my heart thumping harder than a jack hammer about to explode. I wished I had stayed home that night. It was almost as if I couldn't breathe any longer but I had to keep running and running.

"Who or what was after me?" I asked myself as I sat at the right corner of my bed staring at the wooden ceiling, this was the fourth time this week I had this same nightmare. At first I saw it as an ordinary dream but soon it started to seem more than that, I could see flashes of the whole scene wherever I was.

I told my parents about it but they didn't seem to care much, a family friend suggested I see a sleep specialist and I even accepted the IRT (Imagery Rehearsal Therapy) I was given with hopes of sleep improvement, still nothing seemed to work out.

Then neighbors and other familial relatives suggested to my parents that maybe we should move, an idea I never fanned.I was speechless when I heard the news, with a mouth wide open like a bowhead whale and my eyes turned red. "Why would they make such a decision without letting me in on it" I felt cheated and my rights abused like I didn't have any, but I had no choice and besides it was all over the neighborhood that I was slowly going psycho, it was as funny as it was serious. I literally stopped going out. At least I didn't have to spend more than a week as my parents already found another house about three towns away and technically it looked heavenly enough to remedy my nightmares, but I'll just have to sleep past tomorrow.

"Wake up Luna", The voice said, I couldn't help but sleep more besides I haven't had any sleep in days and my eyes had swole.

The voice continued and I finally woke up to the troublesome look on Evie Presley's face, she was a fair skinned 5.7' inch tall teenager with blonde hair, she was what you would call Fidus Achates. She followed me wherever I went and we spent most of our times together. "What would she be doing here this early?". What else, if not to say a big goodbye, not like I was going to the land of the dead or something, I really am gonna miss her as much as she will miss me.

I got up after she finally pulled me off the bed and she helped me start my day in a very unexpected way, we both had breakfast and took a stroll to our favorite places and our favorite people.

"There he is" she said as we were about crossing the road, pointing at a dark skinned 6' inch tall fellow who turned out to by Ryan Belch, my high school crush. I though I was over him, but I just couldn't.

Before he could turn to see who, I pulled Evie to the back of a cab parked by my left and we both squatted till he's attention was taken away by his mom whom he seemed to be escorting to somewhere"Do you want to get me in trouble" I said scolding Ernie who had already bursted into laughter. I never liked talking to him tho I wanted to, I tried so many times but i didn't always get a chance and when I did I just turned into a doll, smiling all the way and now I was leaving, maybe we were never meant to be.

We both went to so many places, and had a lot of fun not knowing the fate ahead.

Nightfall, Evie had already gone home after helping my pack my stuff for the next day, I just layed on my bed staring at the ceiling as so many thoughts flooded my mind, I couldn't help but let a tear drop. All my life I've been in this city and just an incident was about to change everything, My twin sister Lydia was coming home the next week after her graduation and I was just starting my college life and now we're moving plus I'll have to go to a new school, make new friends if possible and totally become a new person, I could only hope things got better. It wasn't funny how only a series of reoccurring nightmares could just change so much.

I'll just have to learn to cope, beside what could possibly go wrong in a town that was said to be always quiet and it's residents were somewhat welcoming. I closed my eyes so I could easily fall asleep and I finally did.
