Chapter 1 1. Forced Abroad

A man in a suit is observing a woman.

"Sir, we've found her."

"Bring her to me," ordered the man on the other end of the line. "Now."

After getting orders from the voice on the other side of the phone, they moved to kidnap the woman they had been stalking.

"Miss Alika, we won't hurt you, so rebel."

How could Alika not rebel if she was suddenly kidnapped? "We're just delivering you to our master, he wants to meet you."

"I don't want to meet your master." Alika yelled. "Let go, I'll report you to the police!"

However, Alika's words were brushed aside. They only restrained Alika from rebelling. After about fifteen minutes, Alika was taken somewhere.

"Let go. Why don't you listen to what I'm saying, huh? I'll sue you and put you in jail," Alika threatened, but her words made a man laugh.

That voice made Alika stop rebelling. "Let her go!"

"Yes, sir."

"Fuck! Why did you abduct me?" Alika's voice rose to an echoing pitch. Alika's eyes had just opened, making her confused by the man in front of her.

"Be calm, Alika. I won't hurt you and, they won't hurt you either," said the man.

Alika had no idea who the man in front of her was. She had never even met him. "I feel like I've never caused any trouble but why did you kidnap me."

The man smiled, making his jaw look hard. "Yes, this is indeed the first time we met."

"So why did you kidnap me? If this is our first time meeting?" Alika snapped.

"Because I'm your father and I've come to take you home." The man's words stunned Alika.

Alika blinked a few times, trying to digest what she had just heard. "F-father?"

At that moment Alika laughed, she couldn't believe there was a man who claimed to be her father. Though 23 years old, she has never been about her biological parents at all.

"Yes, I'm your father!"

"This is impossible!"

"How is that impossible? You don't believe I'm your father?"

Alika didn't want to believe the man's explanation. She thought it was a joke, and she left but was stopped by the guards.

"Let me go, I have no business with you guys."

This time there was no longer any deterrent to making Alika leave immediately. Along the way, she thought about what the man had said. It made no sense to her at all.

Is she the only granddaughter of the Lysander family? Especially when the man said that her name was not Alika but Elektra. Is that possible? She had lived almost a quarter of a century without knowing her family. She thought he was making it up but was speechless when he pulled out the photo. She walked out and assumed it was just a joke to trick her.

When she got home, Alika lay down. She was pretty tired, but the doorbell rang a moment later, and Arsen barged into the room, taking her by surprise. Picking up the suitcase, he filled all the clothes without saying why.

Meanwhile, Alika stared at the man as she furrowed her brow. "What are you doing, Arsen?" she asked.

However, Arsen has yet to respond to his lover's question. Of course, Alika was upset, and she immediately pulled her hand. "Arsen!" Alika snapped.

The two of them were now facing each other. Arsen took a long breath, then said, "The passport, money, and all the files you need, are in this envelope."

"What are you talking about? Why is there a passport? You want me to leave?" Alika asked with a pale face.

Arsen gave a short nod. "Go to the States. You can study law and give birth there. I'll catch up with you next week after taking care of some things here," he said.

Alika's gaze immediately became sad. She still didn't understand why her boyfriend had done all that. It was very sudden.

The man's words are proven, saying Arsen will send him abroad.

"Follow what I say, okay?" Arsen's voice accompanied the gentle touch on Alika's cheek.

"I won't." Alika refused.

"Al, please. It's for your own good, if you don't go to America-then everyone here will look down on you for getting pregnant out of wedlock." Arsen also asked why.

"But you said you would take responsibility?" Alika said with tears in her eyes.

"Yes. I will take responsibility," said Arsen.

It sounded convincing, but Alika needed to determine if it was the best path for both. "So why did you ask me to go to America? Didn't you promise to take me to see your parents?" she asked again.

"I'll take them to America. There's a problem here that requires me to stay for a while, once that problem is solved I will definitely catch up with you." Once again, Arsen tried to convince Alika of his unilateral decision.

"Don't. I won't go. You've promised me." Alika said.

"Please. Follow what I tell you. Go to America for our baby!" Arsen snapped in a high-pitched voice.

Instantly Alika fell silent. Arsen's face looked scary, making her not dare to say anything anymore. Although she still wanted to ask some things, Arsen's sharp gaze made her silent.

Alika no longer considered refusing when the important document Arsen gave was grasped tightly.

"This is for the sake of our baby." Arsen said softly while holding Alika's hand; he tried to make Alika believe his words.

Alika smiled slightly. "Yes, I believe." She softly realized the truth of Arsen's request. "This baby is innocent." She added while stroking her slightly bulging belly.

After all, Alika was worried that all her faculty mates would be shocked if they found out about her pregnancy and would be gossiped about.

"Thanks for understanding." Arsen said later.

Arsen looked at Alika, who was looking out the window; her sad eyes showed she was hiding something. When Alika entered the Boarding Bridge, Arsen immediately went home without realizing if Alika did not get into the plane, even if that woman was following Arsen's car.

Along the way to the airport, Alika thought about Arsen's attitude asking her to go abroad, so suddenly, she felt as if Arsen was hiding something. Although doubtful, she wanted to ensure what the man said to her, whether the man was lying or not.

Arsen's car turned out to be entering a wedding building that was so luxurious. Alika still followed him, looking at the place curiously.

"Who got married? Why is Arsen coming to this place?"

Alika began to ask herself questions.

She stepped into the wedding hall with mixed feelings. Her mind suddenly guessed the worst possibility that would be seen later. Isn't it impossible not to if the event that was held so grandly was Arsen's wedding?

"Vero? She's married?" Alika's monologue is when she sees a beautiful woman in the event's spotlight.

"Seriously? Why didn't she tell me?" she asked then.

"Is it me who didn't read the message?" Alika checked her cell phone as soon as possible but couldn't find a single message from Vero. "Did she forget to invite me? Yes, maybe she forgot, but who is the man who married her?"

She thought hard again when the host mentioned Arsen's name, accompanied by the man coming in a tuxedo, suit-making her very shocked.

"T-they-" Alika's speech was stifled.

She could only clench her hands tightly as the newlyweds were about to make their vows before God.

Alika has not realized the reality that is in front of her right now. It was when Arsen finished his vows that Alika learned. She approached the wedding altar, making the guests stare at her. Arsen's mother rounded her eyes, seeing an unwanted woman present at her son's wedding.

Plak!

A firm slap landed on Arsen's cheek when the man had just turned around. Vero was surprised to see Alika at the altar.

"Al?" Like being struck by lightning, Arsen saw Alika before his eyes. "H-how do you-"

"Oh, apparently this is the reason for asking me to go to America so that you can marry Vero. Bravo! Bravo!" Alika even applauded what Arsen did.

Arsen did not answer; he chose to look down. A moment later, laughter made everyone's focus turn to them.

"No wonder, you're acting so strangely-"

"Why didn't you ...."

There was a slap that just landed on Alika's cheek. Everyone was shocked by it, including Arsen; he did not expect his mother to do that to Alika. There was a look of anger on her face when she saw the woman who had just interrupted her son's wedding.

"Leave my son alone, bitch. You don't deserve to be our family's son-in-law," insulted Sonia.

From a distance, a man watched the family's treatment of their daughter Alika.

"Master, are you just going to see Miss-"

A man beside him was trying to get the master to save Alika.

"Leave it alone!"

Alika rubbed her cheek, which had just received a slap. She let out a rough sigh at the humiliation she had just received. She didn't expect to be treated like that in front of so many people.

All eyes were on her. Moreover, Sonia's voice was so echoing that it filled the spacious room, allowing the whole room to hear what the middle-aged woman had just said.

Several whispers were heard, making Alika look around. She could feel that all eyes were full of contempt, and none of them wanted to defend her.

"You have ruined my wedding." Vero said with a reddened look in her eyes.

"Aah, ruining your show, huh? You've even ruined my future, Ver!" Alika snapped with a sarcastic smile.

Sonia's emotions boiled over when she saw Alika making a scene at her son's wedding. She pushed Alika, causing her to fall.

Arsen immediately wanted to approach Alika, but Sonia had already pulled his hand.

"Shut up!" she ordered.

Meanwhile, Alika could only stare at Arsen with hatred. Sonia also took Vero's hand and invited the newlyweds to leave.

"Let me help you." A male waiter said as he squatted in front of Alika.

How sad! Of all the people in the building, only one was willing to help her. It was a waiter. Alika then accepted the waiter's help as she stood up. Her gaze was sinister - watching Arsen's departure with the two women.
