Just three months into their marriage, a married couple is unsure about the standing of their marriage as the husband discovers that, his wife has been deceiving him from the beginning of their marriage.
Exactly three months ago today was their wedding extravaganza and Ayele still had her glow on, radiating like the sun. Her left hand would not rest, as it seemed to go ahead of her everywhere she went and if you came across her, you were likely to blink twice to protect your eyes from the gleam of the dazzling diamond that sat on top of her ring. She made sure Frimpong got her that expensive ring she came across on Amazon a few months ago. It's indeed stunning and she flaunted it endlessly. She asked Frimpong to buy her a week after their wedding....so.
The radiance Ayele is exuding seemed far away from her husband, Frimpong. He had lost weight, you could tell from the bugs under his eyes that he wasn't getting much sleep. Tonight, he didn't go out with the boys as he usually did every Friday night, with the excuse that he was exhausted, which never stopped him before. He was just hoping to have a convo with
his wife that evening. He only hoped it would go well, she is a fierce one. She's like the wolf, hot-tempered, loud, and forward, Ayele gets what Ayele wants. Meanwhile, Frimpong was like a lamb, soft-spoken and calm. His friends wondered why a peaceful man chose to live with chaos for better or for worse, but he just loved this woman, madly. So after dinner, they both lay on the long couch, Ayele in her husband's arms, while both reminisced about their wedding day, laughing about how terrible a dancer Frimpong was. "It was magical, felt like heaven", Ayele smiled, turned, and gave her husband a kiss. "I'm glad you didn't hang out with the boys tonight, I get to have all by myself", she smiled against his lips, he liked that and she knew it. But he didn't react, so she pulled back and faced him, "You're quiet, are you sure you're okay?"
He had spent the whole day imagining how the conversation would go, he knew the woman he married, he says something the wrong way and the bonfire will be lit. While driving home he was rehearsing how he'll start that conversation. But in that moment, he just decided to go with whatever. Babe, we need to talk", Frimpong interrupted the moment, "You've never asked how I'm repaying all the monies after the wedding, why is that?" Ayele sat upright. "Because I know you're taking care of it babe", she rubbed his thigh.
"And you don't care how I'm taking care of it? Babe, the bank is on my neck, Boakye's mother is sick and he needs his money back to take care of the her, I'm still doing my best to provide almost everything in this house and you don't care? "
Ayele chuckled and stood up from the couch, "first of all, bring your tone down, second of all, which of us married who? And don't tell me you take care of everything" she threw her hands in the air, "I buy groceries and paid half of the rent, or have you forgotten?" Frimpong got up too, "I haven't, "I'm only saying that I need your help to repay the loan, or if you can get the 5000 for Boakye, I'll try and repay the loan, he needs it like yesterday"
Ayele chuckled, " You expect me to give you 5000cedis, babe, I remember telling you Gina has gotten admission to the University, Mom called me last night about tuition, plus I need to fix my hair, you've seen how it looks right? I need to go get new clothes for work as well, we need groceries, plus, the girls planned a trip for next weekend, they already know I'm going, so I have to pay too".
Shock was written all over Frimpong's face, "Babe, are you really serious?"
She grabbed her phone from the couch, "Do I look like I'm joking?"
