After being cheated on by her boyfriend, Cassandra travelled to California to pursue her dreams. Brokenhearted, she got drunk and accidentally slept with a hot stranger. It was supposed to be a one-night stand which she wanted to forget, but after that, she found out she was carrying a child. Years after, she again met the father of her child and found that he was the new CEO who took over the company she was working for. Will she be able to keep her child away from the narcissist arrogant Mr. Billionaire? Or will she be able to resist her heart from falling?

Chapter 1 A BETRAYAL THAT BROKE HER HEART

"Miss Cassandra Morgan?" the interviewer called on her name.

"Yes, ma'am." Cassandra immediately gave all her attention.

"Thank you for coming here today for your interview. We would be calling on you after reviewing your resume."

She shook the interviewer's hand with dropped shoulders, yet she still smiled. As usual, that was what they usually told her after her interviews with different companies to which she had sent her applications.

As soon as she came out of the building, she called Jay, her boyfriend, hoping he could cheer her up. After a few missed calls, she finally gave up. She called on Vivian instead, her best friend since grade school.

"Yes, hello? Anything you need?"

"Where are you?"

"I'm on a date," Vivian answered, stating her sentence word by word.

"Liar. You don't have a boyfriend."

"Ugh. I know you got yourself a boyfriend and I'm single, okay?"

She laughed while imagining Vivian rolling her eyes.

"I'm at a cafe."

"Cool! I'll be there."

A few minutes, she finally arrived where Vivian was.

"I am correct. You're not with somebody else." She almost came running to her friend's table.

"Yeah. I know, I'm single." Vivian rolled her eyes. "So, why don't you set me up with your handsome brother? So, I could have someone here."

"I know my genes are well built, but I won't date him if I were you."

"Why? Because he just fucks then leave? Don't worry I can handle that."

Cassandra's phone beeped.

"Speaking of the devil. He just texted me." She looked at her screen but decided to shut it down.

"What did he say?" Vivian asked.

"Nothing. Just asking if I was okay," she lied. Her brother is asking for cash again. It was to pay his debt.

She doesn't want to tell Vivian about it. She knows her friend will be willing to lend him money if she finds out.

"Really? Then, that's the more reason I should date him."

"Hmm. Still, my answer is a no." She took a sip from her drink. "Can you come with me to the mall? I want to buy Jay a gift."

"Let me remind you, Cass. You don't have a job yet. You almost used up all your savings and you are still buying Jay a gift?"

"It's for our anniversary."

"Ugh." Vivian rolled up her eyes. "And what about him? What is he getting you for your anniversary? As far as I remember, he never got you any present since you two dated."

"I understand him, Vi. He is still waiting for his investment profit."

"Until when?"

"Soon. Besides, I don't pay everything for him. He also got his auntie from the sushi bar down the apartment."

"That auntie you are telling me sounds fishy though. She always took care of Jay like her own son. She always checks up on him and gave him free dinner every day."

"That's normal for relatives."

"Sounds not normal to me."

"I just want to support him so he could achieve his dreams."

"And what about yours, Cass? You've got a nice opportunity to wait in California. I've been telling you to grab that. It'll be just a couple of months. Better if you could extend your stay there."

"You know I can't. Jay's mom is expecting me to look out for him. And Jay won't allow me to leave."

"Because he overthinks all the time. He always accuses you being with another man. You should've just agreed to meet my cousin I've been setting up for you for a long time. He's far more gorgeous and better that Jay."

"I love Jay, Vi. He may be a little jerk but he needs someone to take care of him. He needs support."

She took a sigh. "Your boyfriend is not a baby, Cass. You also have your own life. Stop looking out for others when you can't even take care of yourself."

ā€“

Cassandra texted Jay that she couldn't meet him that night. She wanted to surprise him. She went to his apartment carrying with her a new pair of shoes. That was her anniversary gift.

It was seven in the evening, an hour before the reservation she made at a fine restaurant.

"Gosh. I'm excited!" She took a deep sigh before she opened the door of his place. "This is it Cass. You'll be finally sleeping with Jay."

She went in, only to be greeted by loud moans coming from Jay's room. She slowly stepped towards the open door. And there, she saw Jay with a woman in action in the bed.

She felt numb that she let go of the present she was carrying. The thud made the two stop on what they were doing.

They looked at her, both shocked, covering themselves in a blanket.

There she saw that the woman he was fucking was the auntie from the sushi restaurant.

"What the hell was this, Jay?"

Jay rushes towards her and tries to hold her. "I can explain, babe. It's not what you think."

"Don't touch me! You are both naked in bed and you got the nerve to tell me that it's not what I think?!" She was furious.

"Okay! We had a couple of beers. I thought you forgot our anniversary, so we..." he paused.

"Say it!" She bends down to pick up the paper bag. "Does this show I forgot about it? Jay, I wanted to surprise you. I even booked us a dinner."

"I'm sorry. But you shouldn't have done that. I am tired Cass."

"What did you say? Tired? That's all you can say? After I spent all my money on you to support your dream. I bought you a computer, monitors, and your bike. I even pay for your apartment."

"That is what I hate about you Cass. You make me feel that I am not a man. You pay for all my things and it's stepping down on my pride. I'm tired Cass. Let's end this."

"And that woman could make you feel like a man?"

"Yes, Cass. And to tell you honestly, we have been together for a couple of months now. I am only a man. I have needs and you can't even give me a single night."

She couldn't contain herself and slapped his face. "I am working hard to find a job where I can still look out for you. But it seems that my efforts are not enough. It seems you don't need me anymore."

Cassandra threw the present to him.

"You can have it." She looked down on his body. "And cover yourself, you filthy asshole."

She went out of his apartment. Her tears started to fall on her cheeks.

I received a pornographic video. "Do you like this?" The man speaking in the video is my husband, Mark, whom I haven't seen for several months. He is naked, his shirt and pants scattered on the ground, thrusting forcefully on a woman whose face I can't see, her plump and round breasts bouncing vigorously. I can clearly hear the slapping sounds in the video, mixed with lustful moans and grunts. "Yes, yes, fuck me hard, baby," the woman screams ecstatically in response. "You naughty girl!" Mark stands up and flips her over, slapping her buttocks as he speaks. "Stick your ass up!" The woman giggles, turns around, sways her buttocks, and kneels on the bed. I feel like someone has poured a bucket of ice water on my head. It's bad enough that my husband is having an affair, but what's worse is that the other woman is my own sister, Bella. ************************************************************************************************************************ ā€œI want to get a divorce, Mark,ā€ I repeated myself in case he didn't hear me the first timeā€”even though I knew he'd heard me clearly. He stared at me with a frown before answering coldly, "It's not up to you! I'm very busy, don't waste my time with such boring topics, or try to attract my attention!" The last thing I was going to do was argue or bicker with him. "I will have the lawyer send you the divorce agreement," was all I said, as calmly as I could muster. He didn't even say another word after that and just went through the door he'd been standing in front of, slamming it harshly behind him. My eyes lingered on the knob of the door a bit absentmindedly before I pulled the wedding ring off my finger and placed it on the table. I grabbed my suitcase, which I'd already had my things packed in and headed out of the house.
