Chapter 1 Dickson

it was early morning at the bus stop for buses outside the city. The sun was rising slowly while people were moving from one place to another as usual in a city that is as lively as this.

No one had any information on each other, but everyone was busy with their issues. in the crowd, there was a middle-aged girl who, by looking at her quickly, looked like she was twenty-three or twenty-four to maybe twenty-five years old. she was a very strange girl, in the hands of the girl, she was hugging a small bag that no one knew what was in it.

She moved slowly while glancing her eyes here and there, finally, she moved outside a shop and sat down. next to the shop was a car garage where many young men were continuing to do their work and some even took training in car repair.

From the appearance of the girl, it was clear that she was a visitor to the city, but it was not immediately clear where she was coming from, who her name was and who she was waiting for in those places.

Slowly the minutes were moving until it came around noon and she was still sitting in the same place. people were going back and forth but she was still in the same place, in the end, hunger started to seize her and made her stomach rumble.

"Hey Dickson , do you know the woman I was looking at earlier? that is, from the morning until this time at noon, she is still sitting there and she seems to be new to town. I don't know if her hosts did not come to get her from the bus stop or she has been kicked out from them!?"

They were the words of a tall black young man who had a spanner in his hand addressing his fellow young man who was known by the name of Dickson but Dickson was inside the car continuing with the repairs.

"uh, you know, John, this is a home and everyone has their own mission, so if she has been sitting there since morning or since night, let her be. When she gets tired, she will leave, we have come to work, so let's do what brought us here before the boss arrives. Don't you know how complicated he is!?"

Dickson spoke carelessly and made John pay attention to his words, although for a while he wanted to follow the girl and ask her what was wrong with her.

Slowly, time passed until it was around two o'clock in the afternoon. the girl got up and walked into the shop, greeted the staff and started to explain her problem.

"I'm sorry, my brother, my name is Ramla, I'm from out of town, I'm a stranger in this city, now I'm having a problem. please help me if it's possible, I'll be very grateful, my brother"

Ramla spoke emphatically while her gentle face made the shopkeeper feel pity for listening to her.

"Well, you can tell me what help you need, if it is within my power, I will help you, but if it is beyond my power, I will know what to do so that I can at least advise you"

"Thank you very much my brother, but my problem was I was asking you to help me with a phone, there is someone I need to call"

"Oh if it is that, there is no problem."

The shopkeeper didn't want a lot of things, he put his hand in his pocket and took out the phone, then he gave it to Ramla who took it with both hands. there was a number she had written down and dialled, it called and after a while it was answered and a female voice was heard on the other side which made Ramla smile.

"Hello hello, who is this!?"

"Da.. sister, It's Ramla. that is, I've been waiting for you until I'm tired. I've gotten out of the bus since morning but you haven't come to get me, what's the problem!?"

"Wait I'll call you."

The voice of the woman who is Ramla's sister was heard briefly and in the end, the phone was cut off and made Ramla confused. she tried to call her again but the number was not available and made her panic but because she told her she would call her a little while later her heart was somewhat hopeful.

she waited to receive her sister's call but the result was silence and at the end she had to return the phone to the owner but the alarm bell started ringing in her head very slowly.

"I'm sorry my sister doesn't call, maybe she's getting ready to come and get me. Just take back your phone and I'll wait here if she calls then you can tell me"

Ramla returned the phone and then moved to where she had been sitting and sat down again but there were many unanswered questions in her head.

Time went by but there was no response until it was around midnight when Dickson was getting ready to go home.

after the whole day's work, he looked up and saw Ramla who was still sitting there, looking desperate.

"It means that the woman John told me about is still there, or maybe she really doesn't have a place to go.!?".

Dickson spoke to himself and finally decided to move until he found Ramla, who was lost in thought.

"I'm sorry miss, how are you!?"

Dickson 's greeting brought Ramla out of her thoughts and she straightened herself up and answered the greeting.

"ok...I am okay!"

"Are you really okay because you look very worried and have seen you here since the morning. what's wrong or is there someone you're waiting for!?"

"Yes, I am waiting for someone, but until now I don't know if she will come get me, I feel that she has abandoned me!"

Ramla spoke and slowly tears of pain and anger began to flow down her cheeks.

"Oh, I'm so sorry, what are you going to do now, let's try to call her"

"I don't have a phone and even if I ask for a phone call and call, she won't be able to talk to me if she hears my voice now. I don't know what has happened to her, but don't worry brother, let me continue to wait for her if she doesn't show up until tomorrow I'll know what to do".

"oh okay."

Dickson did not say more, he turned and left, but to some extent, a soul of compassion entered him, but he had no way but to continue his journey back home.

*******

At exactly six o'clock in the night, the city began to calm down, and the thunderbolts were heard. Everyone went in to rest their body, but on Ramla's side, she had nowhere to go, considering she was new in the city, so she had to stay there in case of trouble, she would know where she was starting from.

Gradually, sleep began to overtake her because her body was very tired and hunger was tormenting her stomach.

When she was in a deep sleep, she was shocked after hearing footsteps in front of her and after opening her eyes, she was surprised to see three men in front of her and among those men was John, Dickson 's friend, but the others were unknown. however their faces were wearing masks. which made them quickly unrecognizable and this scared Ramla a lot.

"Oya Wada Manzi myself, I was telling you that this is the one who came, I don't know where she came from, but I believe that if we get her, then it will be a good meal for us"

John spoke and approached Ramla who was very scared then he took the bag she had and started checking but he found nothing but clothes.

"For my part, I don't think we have time to check him because we have already found our meal, so let's take her and do our thing and then we can kill her or abandon her. what do you say?"

"That's the word Japhet we have no time to waste.

John didn't want to protest more, he agreed with his friends' idea and then they attacked Ramla and tied her with a rope so that she couldn't scream and in the end, they carried her away to a place they knew. it was a joy for them because they got to pick her and use her........
