Warcraft that will be upgraded Chapter 1 Another world

"Where am I?" Perplexed, I surveyed the surroundings, sensing a change in the environment. Instantly, a sense of unease gripped my heart, and I contemplated standing up.

However, when I attempted to make a move, I made a startling discovery that filled me with terror.

"My hands? My feet? Why has my vision deteriorated so much? Why has my hearing regressed?" Upon regaining consciousness, as I habitually prepared to rub my eyes, I was horrified to find not only that my limbs had vanished suddenly but also that my auditory and visual functions had diminished to almost nothing.

A series of revelations instilled fear in me, and, in a state of panic, I disregarded utility and exerted all my strength to initiate movement.

Amidst my actions, I suddenly made an even more terrifying discovery.

"A serpent's tail? How do I have the tail of a snake?" After a series of frightening events, I surprisingly found myself becoming calmer.

"A snake's tail, limbless, diminished senses-could it be that I have transformed into a snake?" With this thought flashing in my mind, I was dumbfounded.

Originally, I was just an ordinary otaku on Earth, spending my days playing games and surfing the internet. Although I lacked noteworthy experiences, life was comfortable.

I had thought I would continue living such a life, but unexpectedly, due to a small accident, I ended up becoming a snake.

The transition from human to snake, though bizarre, had a nearly fatal impact on me.

Contemplating the lifespan and habits of snakes, and the prospect of living by consuming mice, suicidal thoughts crossed my mind.

Biting my tongue to end my life? This method posed significant difficulty for a snake.

Crashing to death? Crawling itself was a challenge, making it nearly impossible to collide with force.

Perhaps due to the difficulty of suicide or a fear of death, whatever the reason, after the initial shock, I gradually accepted the fact that I had become a snake and attempted to crawl.

Perhaps it was instinctual, but learning to crawl was surprisingly easy for me, requiring minimal effort.

After mastering crawling, in my eagerness to explore the outside world, I crawled away from my original location.

However, I seemed to forget that I was no longer a human. While a person going out would not encounter any issues, I was now a snake. If discovered by humans, I might either scare them away if lucky or become a delicacy on their dining table if unlucky.

Yet, it was apparent that I didn't consider such matters.

"Boom!" Perhaps due to my destiny, after crawling for a while, I suddenly heard a loud noise from the front, startling me.

Unaware of what had happened ahead, my instincts told me that it was undoubtedly dangerous there.

However, even though I knew that place was dangerous, it was best to keep a considerable distance. Yet, driven by curiosity, I continued crawling towards that location.

"Is this another world?"

After crawling for some time and reaching the vicinity of the noise, I discovered two gigantic beasts engaged in a fierce battle. Knowing that such monstrous creatures didn't exist on Earth, I naturally assumed that I had arrived in another world.

Soon, as I approached the scene, the two beasts succumbed to their injuries, collapsing on the ground.

Without delving into the details of their battle, I could tell that these beasts possessed formidable strength. The nearby craters bore witness to the astonishing destructive power of their clash.

Had these two beasts not fallen, even in my previous human form, I would have undoubtedly fled upon encountering such formidable creatures. However, now that they lay defeated, I couldn't simply leave.

Magic Core!

My greatest hobby in the past was reading, and although I had no idea whether this world resembled the fantasy realms described in novels, after transforming into a snake and witnessing the battle of these colossal beasts, my only option was to overlay my current world with the fantastical realms I knew.

Now a snake, my fate on Earth would have been limited to surviving in sparsely populated areas. However, unexpectedly arriving in this otherworld, I couldn't resign myself to living a mundane life.

If born into a xianxia world, I'd willingly become a snake demon like Bai Niangzi. In this otherworld, my second choice would be to become a powerful magic beast.

Aware of my current strength, despite the recent transformation, I could almost be certain that my new body held no outstanding qualities. In other words, I was just an ordinary snake. If no surprises occurred, there would be little chance to change my fate in this lifetime.

However, if truly in another world, based on the novels I read, I knew this might be my only opportunity for a turnaround.

How to evolve from a regular snake to a magic beast, I didn't know. But if indeed in another world, I knew that finding the legendary Magic Core was the key to enhancing my strength.

"Let's go for it." Realizing the rarity of this opportunity, unwilling to accept a lifetime as a small snake, I, despite the overwhelming size of the beasts, crawled towards them.

"Really dead." Carefully crawling to the side of one beast, I viciously bit its nose. Seeing no reaction from the creature, I confirmed its death.

Even though both beasts were dead, it didn't mean I could easily achieve my goal of extracting the Magic Core. While my current strength prevented me from dealing with the corpses, it didn't mean I would abandon my desire to obtain the Magic Core.

Since breaking through the skull to retrieve the core was impossible, I considered other options.

Realizing my predicament and the potential dangers ahead, I gritted my teeth and crawled towards the nose of the fallen beast.

With a subtle sound, I entered the beast's brain. In the wake of my intrusion, the area fell silent, and under the intimidation of the two beasts in their prime, other creatures in the vicinity refrained from approaching.

"Hiss." With a faint hiss, I emerged from the beast's body, holding a crystalline orb. After disgorging the blood in my mouth, I spared no effort to examine the Magic Core I had extracted from the beast.

"Is this the Magic Core? Why does it resemble a marble?" After a curious examination, unable to resist the temptation of strengthening myself, I promptly swallowed the Magic Core.

Yet, I hadn't considered that enhancing my strength through devouring the Magic Core didn't mean there were no consequences.

I was once the heiress to the Solomon empire, but after it crumbled, I became the "charity case" ward of the wealthy Hyde family. For years, I lived in their shadows, clinging to the promise that Anson Hyde would always be my protector. That promise shattered when Anson walked into the ballroom with Claudine Chapman on his arm. Claudine was the girl who had spent years making my life a living hell, and now Anson was announcing their engagement to the world. The humiliation was instant. Guests sneered at my cheap dress, and a waiter intentionally sloshed champagne over me, knowing I was a nobody. Anson didn't even look my way; he was too busy whispering possessively to his new fiancée. I was a ghost in my own home, watching my protector celebrate with my tormentor. The betrayal burned. I realized I wasn't a ward; I was a pawn Anson had kept on a shelf until he found a better trade. I had no money, no allies, and a legal trust fund that Anson controlled with a flick of his wrist. Fleeing to the library, I stumbled into Dallas Koch—a titan of industry and my best friend’s father. He was a wall of cold, absolute power that even the Hydes feared. "Marry me," I blurted out, desperate to find a shield Anson couldn't climb. Dallas didn't laugh. He pulled out a marriage agreement and a heavy fountain pen. "Sign," he commanded, his voice a low rumble. "But if you walk out that door with me, you never go back." I signed my name, trading my life for the only man dangerous enough to keep me safe.

Rain hammered against the asphalt as my sedan spun violently into the guardrail on the I-95. Blood trickled down my temple, stinging my eyes, while the rhythmic slap of the windshield wipers mocked my panic. Trembling, I dialed my husband, Clive. His executive assistant answered instead, his voice professional and utterly cold. "Mr. Wilson says to stop the theatrics. He said, and I quote, 'Hang up. Tell her I don’t have time for her emotional blackmail tonight.'" The line went dead while I was still trapped in the wreckage. At the hospital, I watched the news footage of Clive wrapping his jacket around his "fragile" ex-girlfriend, Angelena, shielding her from the storm I was currently bleeding in. When I returned to our penthouse, I found a prenatal ultrasound in his suit pocket, dated the day he claimed to be on a business trip. Instead of an apology, Clive met me with a sneer. He told me I was nothing but an "expensive decoration" his father bought to make him look stable. He froze my bank accounts and cut off my cards, waiting for the hunger to drive me back to his feet. I stared at the man I had loved for four years, realizing he didn't just want a wife; he wanted a prop he could switch off. He thought he could starve me into submission while he played father to another woman's child. But Clive forgot one thing. Before I was his trophy wife, I was Starfall—the legendary voice actress who vanished at the height of her fame. "I'm not jealous, Clive. I'm done." I grabbed my old microphone and walked out. I’m not just leaving him; I’m taking the lead role in the biggest saga in Hollywood—the one Angelena is desperate for. This time, the "decoration" is going to burn his world down.

My five-year-old daughter was dying in the ICU, her heartbeat replaced by the continuous, electronic scream of a flatline. I gripped her cold hand, my throat sealed shut by a terror so absolute I couldn't even cry out. I dialed my husband Grayson's private number, the one reserved only for me and his assistants. He declined the call instantly. A second later, a text buzzed against my palm: "In a meeting. Do not disturb. Stop calling." Five miles away, Grayson was at a luxury gala, adjusting his silk tie and laughing with Belle Escobar. He told her I was just being "dramatic" and using our daughter's "fever" as an excuse to avoid the event. He had no idea Effie's heart had already stopped. When I finally reached our penthouse, soaked from the rain and carrying Effie's small socks in a plastic bag, Grayson didn't even look at me. He snapped at me for ruining the hardwood floors and asked if I'd left Effie with the nanny just to "feel sorry for myself." Three days later, while I buried our daughter in a small, lonely ceremony, Grayson was at the Hamptons. Belle posted a photo of him golfing with the caption: "A mental health day with the boys." He didn't even attend the funeral, but he returned home demanding I clear out Effie's room to make a study for Belle's son. The injustice burned through me until there was nothing left. I swallowed a handful of sleeping pills, desperate to join my daughter. But instead of the darkness, I woke up to blinding lights and the scent of Grayson's expensive cologne. I was standing in a ballroom, wearing a blue silk dress I had already burned. Above me, a banner read: "Happy 5th Birthday Kaiden & Effie." I was back, exactly one year before the tragedy. This time, I wasn't going to be the grieving wife. I was going to be their worst nightmare.
