What are you doing to me, Marvel?" He moaned in my ear, licking my earlobe, tracing his tongue down to my neck, and forcing out a little gasp of pleasure from my mouth. "How can you lock me in your quagmire?" I grinned as those words escaped from his mouth. Who could have believed that the great Alpha of the Matilda pack could accept a half-breed as his mate? It's absurd. I moaned, repositioning my body as his tongue licked my left nipple, and wrapped my leg around his naked body as his head buried deep into my breast. The warmth of his body made me go wide, and I could feel my body getting restless, enthusiastic to mate with him, waiting impatiently for him to mark me. It's something I have been dreaming about ever since he accepted me as his mate. I clung tightly to his body as if he would disappear like he did when the Voltrons came for his throne, and I licked his neck to make him more horny. As he traced his tongue down to my chest, all the way to my abdomen, I managed to pull my hand, which he had pinned to the bed-rest, smoothing his back to the tail of his medulla oblongata, and then smacking his buttocks. He scoffed, "You're so naughty." "You taught me," I remarked, rolling over him and positioning myself properly on top of him. I bent low a little, my naked body, huge boobs, and mouth touching his chest, and then I whispered into his ear, "Let's make a baby."

Chapter 1 Theme : Hiking at Adirondack Mt

The cool morning breeze of the Adirondack Mountains hit my face, sending a cold shiver down my spine. I could feel it seeking shelter all over my body, and it took all my strength not to fall.

Why? I couldn't risk climbing back up again. This is the third time I will be hiking today and the seventeenth time I've attempted it this month, yet I've never made it to the top of the mountain.

I exhaled softly, making a great mist emitted from my mouth and nostrils.

I can't give up, I thought inwardly, shaking my head. Not now when I'm about to reach the top of the mountain.

I stretch out my hand and use it to grab another gagged rock that protrudes out from the side of the mountain. I clasped my hand tightly on it, making sure that my grip was firm, before pulling myself up again.

I balanced my weight by placing my feet inside my hand's previous hole and clasping my hand into another rock to avoid falling.

I glanced down, and I was awed by the height. I had climbed higher than I thought. I think I'm twenty thousand feet above where I stopped earlier.

At first, I thought of going down. I thought of giving up and returning to the camp. Especially with the harsh wind that was seeking shelter under my short top and leggings.

"You won't dare!" I heard a harsh voice warning me.

Hell No! I murmur in my mind. It's Sarah. She won't allow me to go back. She's always bossy, rude, dirty, and caring. She's my mom. When it comes to pranks, she's a master.

She had just read my thoughts again. "Dirty mother," I murmured under my breath, loud enough for her to hear.

I didn't grow up with my family or know any of their relatives. The only person I grew up knowing in New York City was Sarah. According to what she told me, she found me under a drainage pipe on the outskirts of New York.

I could remember a few months ago when we pulled a prank on Delta Logan at school. We smeared his new vehicle's handle with ink and then punctured the four tyres with a nail.

"I'm not like you," I cried out. The wind howled back, making her invisible again. By the time the wind went down, she was gone again. I doubt she even heard my complaint.

I felt something cold touching my skin, and I jerked back, totally forgetting that I was hiking a mountain. She quickly grabbed my hand.

"I couldn't hear you earlier, baby." She smirked.

Liar! I screamed at her in my head. I argued, "You can hear me!"

"What makes you think so?" She said, winking at me. She made me position myself at the back of the mountain, rolling her eyes like a doll.

"Because you're a coyote," I clarified. "You had extra strength and extra ability."

She smiled widely and said, "Meet me at the top in twenty minutes, or else you aren't eating tonight." She said it strictly. Before I could blink, she was gone again.

"Gosh!" I mumbled under my breath and set out to climb again. I knew better than to disobey her. She won't take her threat back, and I don't have the strength to miss dinner.

She was doing this to train me and for her fun. She was trying to make me harness my special ability. I felt it once, but it was a long time ago. I can remember that day clearly.

It was my first day at Valerie High. I was returning from school when these three seniors crossed my path. They were werewolves, and I. I'm a newbie.

They were harassing me when I felt this strange hunger pang in my stomach. It hurt so much that I could feel my liver burning while my intestines were twisting in my stomach.

Before I knew it, my teeth grew longer, and my fingernails turned into claws. I felt myself getting stronger than usual, and I suddenly felt the urge to drink blood.

Like a possessed being, I jumped at the three seniors and hit them, slashing their skins with my claws until they could no longer move. I broke all the bones in their bodies, and it took Sarah's intervention not to bite them.

The howling of the wind, which blew snow into my face, brought me back to reality. I searched deep inside myself again, willing for the power to take over.

I knew it would increase my strength, but I didn't know how to harness it. The idiot appeared whenever it pleased and vanished as quickly as a needle was thrown into the sea. It's like a woman's menstrual cycle, which comes once a month.

"Baby," Sarah said into my ear once more. It took all my strength not to fall. "You've got ten minutes left."

Ten minutes left! I thought in my mind. Hell No! There's no way I could make it to the top in ten minutes without this strange power of mine.

Sarah mumbled in my ear again, "You're running out of time, little one."

"Can you stop doing that?" I asked, rolling my eyes.

She rolled her eyes too and asked, "And why should I stop?"

"Because you're scaring me!" I screamed at her.

However, the wind of the Adirondack Mountain made it look like I was talking from afar. Regardless of the wind, I knew she heard. She has this strange ability to hear things from more than a hundred miles away.

"Five more minutes to go," she mumbled instead. "Meet me at the top." Before I could reply, she was gone again.

I cursed under my breath, "B*tch!" before deciding to try my luck again.

I used my hand to clutch the rock at the top of my head and tried using it to push my body up. As I was doing this, my hand slipped. Before I knew it, my leg had lost its balance, and I was defying the law of gravity.

"Sarah!" I screamed at the top of my voice.

I couldn't believe it. I was plummeting down to the beginning of the mountain again. Not ready to witness the boulder my back would hit, I closed my eyes.

I didn't know how long I'd been falling, but I felt her grip on my arm. "Lazy girl," she scolded and threw up.

Like magic, I found myself at the top of the mountain. My backbone collided with a boulder at the top of the mountain, and I let out a whinnying sound.

Another bone is gone. I thought in my mind.

Gathering the remaining strength in my body, I managed to drag my body up.

"You're one of the laziest beings on earth," Sarah chastises me. "What if I hadn't saved you on time? You might be lying at the foot of the mountain with your head shattered now."

I raised my hand to stop her. "I'd heal," I said proudly. "This isn't the first time I'll be falling, and I always heal."

"What if you hit your head on a boulder this time?" She asked, holding her waist and closing the little gap between us. "What if you died because of your carelessness?"

I closed my eyes to absorb the pain I was feeling and thought of a good way to respond to her. Eventually, I finally found a good reply: "Silent."

If there's anything I have learned so far from Sarah, it's to know when you're losing and when to keep quiet. Now, I'm going to use her lesson against her.

Instead of replying, I turned around and rested my back against a nearby tree for quick healing.

That's one thing that baffled everyone, including me. I haven't unlocked my werewolf side yet, or it might be hidden inside me. Yet I'd still heal from any mortal wound.

No matter how deep or harsh it might be, I'll heal. Though it might be slow, unlike the real wolves, it will heal.

"I'm talking to you!" Sarah screamed, jerking me forward by the shoulder. "You shouldn't ignore me."

"Then I'd tell the moon goddess that you sent me to my death instead of protecting me like a mother," I said with a stern expression.

"That's a wrong accusation..." She was talking when she suddenly covered my mouth with her palm. "Did you hear that?" She asked while looking around.

"Have you forgotten that I'm not like you?" I replied plainly. She yanked me closer and made us lie behind a nearby boulder for protection. It's huge enough to accommodate the two of us.

"What's that?" I asked, trying to know the reason why we were hiding. I've known Sarah for a long time, and I hardly see her hiding from something or someone. That made me conclude that she was hiding from something or someone dangerous. Nope, we are hiding from someone because no creatures can scare Sarah away.

"Shut up," she said, closing my mouth for me to remain silent. "They're coming."

I sat in the gray, airless room of the New York State Department of Corrections, my knuckles white as the Warden delivered the news. "Parole denied." My father, Howard Sterling, had forged new evidence of financial crimes to keep me behind bars. He walked into the room, smelling of expensive cologne, and tossed a black folder onto the steel table. It was a marriage contract for Lucas Kensington, a billionaire currently lying in a vegetative state in the ICU. "Sign it. You walk out today." I laughed at the idea of being sold to a "corpse" until Howard slid a grainy photo toward me. It showed a toddler with a crescent-moon birthmark—the son Howard told me had died in an incubator five years ago. He smiled and told me the boy's safety depended entirely on my cooperation. I was thrust into the Kensington estate, where the family treated me like a "drowned rat." They dressed me in mothball-scented rags and mocked my status, unaware that I was monitoring their every move. I watched the cousin, Julian, openly waiting for Lucas to die to inherit the empire, while the doctors prepared to sign the death certificate. I didn't understand why my father would lie about my son’s death for years, or what kind of monsters would use a child as a bargaining chip. The injustice of it burned in my chest as I realized I was just a pawn in a game of old money and blood. As the monitors began to flatline and the family started to celebrate their inheritance, I locked the door and reached into the hem of my dress. I pulled out the sharpened silver wires I’d fashioned in the prison workshop. They thought they bought a submissive convict, but they actually invited "The Saint"—the world’s most dangerous underground surgeon—into their home. "Wake up, Lucas. You owe me a life." I wasn't there to be a bride; I was there to wake the dead and burn their empire to the ground.

I watched my husband sign the papers that would end our marriage while he was busy texting the woman he actually loved. He didn't even glance at the header. He just scribbled the sharp, jagged signature that had signed death warrants for half of New York, tossed the file onto the passenger seat, and tapped his screen again. "Done," he said, his voice devoid of emotion. That was Dante Moretti. The Underboss. A man who could smell a lie from a mile away but couldn't see that his wife had just handed him an annulment decree disguised beneath a stack of mundane logistics reports. For three years, I scrubbed his blood out of his shirts. I saved his family's alliance when his ex, Sofia, ran off with a civilian. In return, he treated me like furniture. He left me in the rain to save Sofia from a broken nail. He left me alone on my birthday to drink champagne on a yacht with her. He even handed me a glass of whiskey—her favorite drink—forgetting that I despised the taste. I was merely a placeholder. A ghost in my own home. So, I stopped waiting. I burned our wedding portrait in the fireplace, left my platinum ring in the ashes, and boarded a one-way flight to San Francisco. I thought I was finally free. I thought I had escaped the cage. But I underestimated Dante. When he finally opened that file weeks later and realized he had signed away his wife without looking, the Reaper didn't accept defeat. He burned down the world to find me, obsessed with reclaiming the woman he had already thrown away.

I lay paralyzed on stiff white sheets, a prisoner in my own skin, listening to the rain lash against the window like nails on a coffin. My father, Elmore Franco, didn't even look at my face as he checked his clipboard. He just listened to the steady, monotonous beep of the heart monitor-the only thing proving I was still alive. Without a hint of remorse, he pulled a pen from his pocket and signed the Do Not Resuscitate order. My stepmother, Ophelia, stepped out from behind him, wearing my favorite pearl necklace and smelling of cloying perfume. She leaned close to my ear to whisper the truth that turned my blood to ice. "It was the tea, darling. Just like your mother. A slow, tasteless poison." She chuckled as she revealed that my fiancé, Bryce, had a two-year-old son with my sister, Daniela. My inheritance had been funding their secret life for years, and now that the money was secure, I was an inconvenience they were finally scrubbing away. As my father yanked the power cord from the wall, the beeping died, and the darkness swallowed me whole. I was being murdered by my own flesh and blood, used as a bank account until I was no longer needed. I died in that sterile room, drowning in the realization that every person I ever loved was a monster who had been waiting for me to take my last breath. Then, I gasped. I woke up in a luxury hotel suite surrounded by silk sheets, five years in the past-the very morning of my wedding. Next to me lay Basile Delgado, the "Wolf of Wall Street" and my family's most dangerous enemy. In my first life, I ran from this room in a panic and lost everything. This time, I looked at the man who would eventually destroy my father's empire and decided to join him. "I'm not leaving, Basile. Marry me. Right now. Today."

My stepmother sold me like a piece of inventory to a man known for breaking people just to plug the financial crater my father left behind. I was delivered to the Morton estate in the middle of a freezing storm, stripped of my phone, and told that if I didn't make myself useful, my senile grandfather would be evicted from his care facility by noon. The master of the house, Adonis Morton IV, was a monster living in a silent mausoleum, driven to the brink of madness by a sensory condition that turned every sound into a physical assault. When I was forced into his suite to serve him, he didn't see a human being; he saw a source of agony. In a fit of animalistic rage, he pinned me to the wall and nearly strangled me to death just for the sound of a shattering teacup. I only survived by using my grandfather’s secret herbal blends and pressure-point therapy to force his overactive nervous system into a drugged sleep. But saving him was my greatest mistake. Instead of letting me go, Adonis moved me into a guest suite connected to his own bedroom by a hidden door. He didn't just want me as a servant; he needed me as a human white-noise machine to drown out the demons in his head. The nightmare deepened when he took the promissory note that defined my freedom and tore it into confetti. By destroying the debt, he destroyed my exit strategy. He replaced my maid’s uniform with a silver silk dress that clung to my skin but did nothing to hide the dark, ugly bruises his fingers had left on my neck. He branded me as his "primary care associate," a title that was nothing more than a gilded cage. I felt a sickening sense of injustice as he forced me to sign a contract that banned me from contacting other men and required me to sleep wherever he slept. He looked at me with a possessive heat, calling me his "medication" rather than a woman. My family had sold my body, but Adonis Morton was intent on owning my very presence, using my grandfather’s medical bills as a leash to keep me within twenty feet of him at all times. Standing in a neglected greenhouse with mud staining my expensive silk, I realized I was no longer a victim waiting for rescue. If I was going to be his medication, I would learn how to be his cure—or his undoing. I began clearing the weeds with a cold, calculated frenzy, determined to turn this prison into my laboratory. He thinks he has trapped a helpless girl, but I am going to pry open the cracks in his stone walls until his entire world comes crashing down.
