"Becoming my wife is way beyond your league" "But still Mr, I will marry you and remain loyal to you" I cut him off, watching a mocking grin play on his lips. My Contract Husband Chapter 1 Perfect Match

KILLIAN'S Point Of view

Mother's sick, and needs a donor for liver transplant. "O" positive. I have the money to spend, being a billionaire after all.

I can give millions, spoil anyone with money, but the case is where the hell am I going to

get a donor? When very few has that rare blood group.

I have been going everywhere, searching like a mad man, letting my ego down, but still no one has what I am looking for!! I swear, there is nothing l wunt do to get that freaking blood group.

Damnit!

I stabbed the knife on the table, only to realise the shit I just did.

"Oh my god!, I am so sorry" I apologised, as I instantly got a napkin from the cabinet and wrapped it around the maid's hand that was bleeding.

" It's fine sir, it's okay, '' she said as she twisted her face in pain.

My heart ached for her, even though her sight disgusts me. I knew it must hurt like hell, with so much pressure applied, still the blood keeps gushing out. The cut must be very deep.

I must take her to the hospital, before she collapses. At this rate her blood is definitely going low.

I immediately lifted her into my arms, earning a gasp from her. I rushed to the garage, yelling the guard's name furiously.

" Dan, Dan, open the gate this moment" I yelled, as I opened the backseat and lifted the

maid into it before closing the door and running to the driver's seat to get in.

I furiously drove out of my house towards the family's private hospital. I could hear the maid's low groans and felt my heart racing.

Why couldn't I have been more careful? I wondered as I got her out of the car. The napkin was already soaked with so much blood. Her uniform was stained also and the alarming thing is she was shivering, her eyes barely opened.

I dashed into the hospital and the nurses on duty immediately rushed towards me with a bed and I placed the maid on it muttering an apology.

I felt really humiliated, a maid I barely gazed at, is now in a very bad condition because I could not control my feelings.

" I am sorry" I said slowly one more time, trying to retain my strictness to her.

Few minutes later I sat outside her ward and the doctor Mr. Philip, our family Doctor came to me.

" What is going on Killian?" He asked worriedly.

" Who is that young girl you brought in? and how did she get so badly injured?" He inquired, feeding me with so many questions at once.

I took a deep breath, before looking back at him.

" It was me, uncle" I replied, watching him widen his eyes at me.

" You?" He called out in disbelief and I nodded.

" How?" He inquired again, and it made me feel more embarrassed, but still I spoke up.

" The maid must have forgotten who I am.." I paused, trying to place my word together, in

order for him not to misinterpret.

"It was a mistake, but still I don't think I am the only one to blame" I sounded cold, yet that didn't hinder me from giving more outrageous reasons why I acted badly.

"She was the one trying to pack up the used plates in front of me even though she knows how her master can be".

"I was frustrated so I grabbed the table knife beside me, stabbing the table hard"

I explained more clearly.

He gasped in shock, placing his hand across his mouth.

" Unfortunately it was her hand I stabbed " I added, but guilt was a bit evident in my voice.

" Oh Poor girl, taking the full brunt of your frustration" He commented sadly, before suddenly hitting me hard on my shoulders.

" Didn't I warn you not to think too much about the incident?" He scolded.

" Now you have hurt the poor innocent lady" He added.

" How is she?" My lips parted and I blurted out.

" She is not in a critical condition, but she sure has lost a lot of blood " He responded.

" She is very weak, and on drip right now, but don't worry, she would be fine" He added, and

made me breathe a sigh of relief.

I don't want to feel the burden anymore. There are better things on my mind, but even

though, I still want to make sure she is fine.

" Can I go in to see her?" I asked and he nodded before parting me on my right shoulder gently.

"Be careful next time, not everyone can handle your temper" He whispered out before leaving me alone and going into another ward.

Opening the door to her ward slightly, I take a deep breath, before stepping in.

My grey eyes wandered inside, and spotted her lying helplessly on the hospital bed. I moved closer and noticed she was sleeping, and her clothes had been changed into the hospital gown.

Her hand cleaned and bandaged, she looked so peaceful and innocent laying down on the

bed. Even though I don't usually feel this shitty way, still my heart ached at the pain I put her through.

She was a maid working for me but I had no idea what her name was, not to mention she

looks like a poor lowlife, but am not bothered about that fact.

She rarely speaks, and all I always do is bark orders at her, she obeys me everytime.

I return back from memory lane, and walk closer to her bed, before sitting on the chair in front of her

I shift my gaze to the side, and my eyes meet the drip attached to her hand. I couldn't help but notice the blood that had been infused into her.

" It can't be" I muttered and hurriedly got to my feet and moved closer to the blood bag to make sure I saw clearly and wasn't hallucinating because of stress.

But it wasn't a hallucination, nor a dream. My eyes widening, the solution to all my problems was looking at me right in front.

I thought I was waking up in the arms of Arthur, the man I loved. But as the morning light hit the Hamptons estate, the man buttoning his cuffs by the window turned around with eyes like chips of ice. It was Augustus Riddle, Arthur’s cruel younger brother, and I had just spent the night whispering confessions of love into the wrong man's ear. The night I thought was a beautiful beginning turned into a devastating nightmare. Instead of comfort, Gus treated me like a stain on his expensive carpet, scribbling a check for "services rendered" before shoving me into a dark service corridor to hide my existence from his brother. "How much does it cost to buy your silence?" He sneered, before leaving me barefoot in a torrential downpour while he drove away in a luxury Cadillac. Four years later, I am a struggling actress in Los Angeles, working double shifts as a barista just to keep the lights on. My life was finally stable until my roommate dragged me to a high-end dinner to meet her new "influential" boyfriend. The man sitting at the table, looking more arrogant and lethal than ever, was Augustus. He spent the entire night humiliating me, calling me a pathetic amateur and a social climber in front of my only friends. When I fled into the rain and collapsed on the sidewalk, skinning my knee until I bled, he watched from his car. He saw me clutching a plastic baggie containing the taped-together pieces of that four-year-old check—the only proof of my shame. He looked at me like roadkill, rolled up his window, and drove off into the dark. I couldn't understand why he was doing this. Why did he hate me enough to crush me, yet remember that I couldn't handle the smell of cigarette smoke? Why did he leave me bleeding in the street, only to send expensive medical supplies and coffee to my door the very next morning? "I'm moving out." I told my roommates, realizing that Gus Riddle didn't just want to destroy me; he wanted to haunt me. I grabbed my suitcase and walked out with eighty dollars to my name, finally ready to disappear into the city before he could burn the rest of my life to the ground.

I was sitting in the Presidential Suite of The Pierre, wearing a Vera Wang gown worth more than most people earn in a decade. It was supposed to be the wedding of the century, the final move to merge two of Manhattan's most powerful empires. Then my phone buzzed. It was an Instagram Story from my fiancé, Jameson. He was at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris with a caption that read: "Fuck the chains. Chasing freedom." He hadn't just gotten cold feet; he had abandoned me at the altar to run across the world. My father didn't come in to comfort me. He burst through the door roaring about a lost acquisition deal, telling me the Holland Group would strip our family for parts if the ceremony didn't happen by noon. My stepmother wailed about us becoming the laughingstock of the Upper East Side. The Holland PR director even suggested I fake a "panic attack" to make myself look weak and sympathetic to save their stock price. Then Jameson’s sleazy cousin, Pierce, walked in with a lopsided grin, offering to "step in" and marry me just to get his hands on my assets. I looked at them and realized I wasn't a daughter or a bride to anyone in that room. I was a failed asset, a bouncing check, a girl whose own father told her to go to Paris and "beg" the man who had just publicly humiliated her. The girl who wanted to be loved died in that mirror. I realized that if I was going to be sold to save a merger, I was going to sell myself to the one who actually controlled the money. I marched past my parents and walked straight into the VIP holding room. I looked the most powerful man in the room—Jameson’s cold, ruthless uncle, Fletcher Holland—dead in the eye and threw the iPad on the table. "Jameson is gone," I said, my voice as hard as stone. "Marry me instead."

The sterile white of the operating room blurred, then sharpened, as Skye Sterling felt the cold clawing its way up her body. The heart monitor flatlined, a steady, high-pitched whine announcing her end. Her uterus had been removed, a desperate attempt to stop the bleeding, but the blood wouldn't clot. It just kept flowing, warm and sticky, pooling beneath her. Through heavy eyes, she saw a trembling nurse holding a phone on speaker. "Mr. Kensington," the nurse's voice cracked, "your wife... she's critical." A pause, then a sweet, poisonous giggle. Seraphina Miller. "Liam is in the shower," Seraphina's voice purred. "Stop calling, Skye. It's pathetic. Faking a medical emergency on our anniversary? Even for you, that's low." Then, Liam's bored voice: "If she dies, call the funeral home. I have a meeting in the morning." Click. The line went dead. A second later, so did Skye. The darkness that followed was absolute, suffocating, a black ocean crushing her lungs. She screamed into the void, a silent, agonizing wail of regret for loving a man who saw her as a nuisance, for dying without ever truly living. Until she died, she didn't understand. Why was her life so tragically wasted? Why did her husband, the man she loved, abandon her so cruelly? The injustice of it all burned hotter than the fever in her body. Then, the air rushed back in. Skye gasped, her body convulsing violently on the mattress. Her eyes flew open, wide and terrified, staring blindly into the darkness. Her trembling hand reached for her phone. May 12th. Five years ago. She was back.
