"Do you take me, Zedane Rhage, as your mate?" "I do. One flesh, one blood, one pack, one magic and one lifetime." **** When Kiena Vocci dumps her forced mate on the altar, she loses everything she once knew... family, pack, life. Now she bumps into a hot stranger, one whose ruthlessness precedes every other part of his being, yet invokes the basest reactions from her. It was supposed to be a quick escape from the chokehold of her father's pack, but it instead became a rapid growth of unwarranted feelings. What happens when she realises that there are secrets being kept from her, and that Zedane cannot reciprocate the feelings she has for him despite their mating? Would she connect with her wolf, or would she end up being just another outcast?

Chapter 1 PROLOGUE

I had a simple saying, "never react in blind panic when you're faced with a scary situation."

Guess what though? Fate had a saying too. "Never make rules without consulting me first."

After its saying is a maniacal cackle that I would normally have found comical, not so much today.

Panic, of the hot, blind and wild variety, is swimming through me; running along my veins on torrents of fire.

My eyes scour the entire congregation of smiling faces, coming to rest on the one person I don't want to see today or ever, sitting ramrod straight in the first pew.

Our eyes lock on each other and a veil of anger covers me from the inside.

Proud and stubborn, regally dressed and oozing selfish success is none other than my traitorous Alpha - because I refuse to call him my father - Dimitri Vocci.

His golden gaze burns on mine, a silent dare for me to question his authority. His lips are pressed in a flat line, awaiting patiently the submission he knows would come next.

I lower my eyes, dropping the now wet gaze to my stiletto clad feet, almost lost under the lace veil of my gorgeous wedding dress.

I have never been able to stand up against him, whether as a daughter or pack subordinate; but nobody says I cannot silently hate the very thought of his existence. Which is exactly what I plan to do from this day onwards.

My fingers curl on the glittering design of my gem laced dress, twirling the stones softly. I would be in awe of the beauty that is sitting gloriously over me if I didn't already have the knowledge of an awful future. Beginning today.

I received a pornographic video. "Do you like this?" The man speaking in the video is my husband, Mark, whom I haven't seen for several months. He is naked, his shirt and pants scattered on the ground, thrusting forcefully on a woman whose face I can't see, her plump and round breasts bouncing vigorously. I can clearly hear the slapping sounds in the video, mixed with lustful moans and grunts. "Yes, yes, fuck me hard, baby," the woman screams ecstatically in response. "You naughty girl!" Mark stands up and flips her over, slapping her buttocks as he speaks. "Stick your ass up!" The woman giggles, turns around, sways her buttocks, and kneels on the bed. I feel like someone has poured a bucket of ice water on my head. It's bad enough that my husband is having an affair, but what's worse is that the other woman is my own sister, Bella. ************************************************************************************************************************ “I want to get a divorce, Mark,” I repeated myself in case he didn't hear me the first time—even though I knew he'd heard me clearly. He stared at me with a frown before answering coldly, "It's not up to you! I'm very busy, don't waste my time with such boring topics, or try to attract my attention!" The last thing I was going to do was argue or bicker with him. "I will have the lawyer send you the divorce agreement," was all I said, as calmly as I could muster. He didn't even say another word after that and just went through the door he'd been standing in front of, slamming it harshly behind him. My eyes lingered on the knob of the door a bit absentmindedly before I pulled the wedding ring off my finger and placed it on the table. I grabbed my suitcase, which I'd already had my things packed in and headed out of the house.
