"What does your tattoo mean?" He asks her "What?" ....then she follows his gaze to her wrist. "Jeez" She thought her gloves had covered the tatoos properly. "Such mysterious dark beauty..." "What?" Chapter 1 1
Emily has just closed from the office and is going to the hospital to see her son. Elliot was her son's name, he had been diagnosed with a rare heart disease and would need another heart. She sees a cab and stops it.
"Where to ma'am?"
"Blue shark hospital please".
"Ok"
She finally arrives at the hospital and goes to her son's ward. She smiles as she takes a long look at him. She begins to stroke his hair and little drops of tears falls to her cheeks. She wonders why all these things was happening to her. Fate must really hate her. A doctor comes in to check on her son.
"Hello Emily" he says giving her a warm smile
"Hi doctor Ruff"
"Is he still asleep?"
"Yeah yeah" she sighed
The doctor moves close to the little boy and checks his temperature then scribble some things on the pad he was holding.
"Uhmm.. Emily, I've got good news for you. We've finally gotten a heart.
Emily gasped in shock as fresh tears of joy wash over her.
"Thank you so much doctor" she says with tears in her voice
"You're welcome Emily" he smiles , then looks at her seriously this time..."I checked your insurance Emily, and they're not able to cover this surgery for your son, you're running out of money Emily, and we need money before the surgery can be carried out"
"I know, I know doctor, I'll surely come up with something alright?"
"We can't keep waiting much longer, we have to get this surgery done as soon as possible".
She nods.
"I know you're really trying and I promise, I won't allow your son die alright?"
With tears in her eyes she hugs doctor Ruff. "Thank you doctor".
He nods and looks at her in pity for a brief moment before leaving. She stays with her son for a while before leaving the hospital.
She's getting ready to go to the club. She's been working as a stripper in the club for two years to be able to take care of herself and her son. Her parents had disowned her after she got pregnant, worse still was that the father of her child was not in their lives. She was good at what she did in the club.
People loved watching her. She always wore a mask that covers her face whenever she was stripping. This mystery of who she is, was part of her charm to her customers.
She gets to the club, and it's her turn to strip. She immediately changes and comes on stage. She climbs on the pole and begins her magic. Immediately she sees him again. He always came in every Friday night.
It had been his routine for almost a year since she started seeing him in the club. Everytime he came, he always focused on her. He loved watching her dance. Her dance movements intrigued him. He had never seen her face. She knew who he was, but he didn't know her.
6 months ago....
She had finished her strip dance and went into the changing room and began to sob. Her friend sees her and immediately knows it has something to do with her son.
"Hey Em, are you alright?"
"No Trisha, no I'm not"
"Is this about Elliot?"
"Yes,...his case is worsening, he has been in the hospital for five months now, and still no heart for him yet. Plus the bills are really killing me Trisha and this stripping job isn't doing it for me".
Her friend looks at her with pity. "Look Em, I could help you with some cash, but I know that wouldn't do anything for you. But I've got a solution to your bills issue ".
"What is it?"
"There's a job vacancy at Garchew International. It's one of the biggest resorts company in the country. They kinda need a new secretary for the CEO".
"Oh my...how'd you know this Trish?"
"I have some history with the company's HR manager, he wanted me to come work there, but I can't. I've got no brains for it honestly, but you...you Em, you're a really smart girl, you need this job, plus they pay good money ".
Emily was speechless and looked at her friend and began to cry even more harder. She was really grateful for Trisha.
"There's something else Emily...never tell anyone you work in the club.... I'll give you his card...just call him alright?"
"Of course, I won't say a word". They hug and Trisha leaves for the stage.
The next day she calls the company and inquires about the job vacancy. After one month of waiting to hear back from the company, they finally give her the job.
Today's her first day of work. She's very eager to work and make some money, then she'll leave the company as soon as she gets the amount of money she needs for her son's surgery. She honestly didn't want to be here, but she has no choice.
She gets to the company's building. It is a really large company with very classy architecture.
She meets Andrew Gates. He's the company's HR manager. He gives her a warm welcome, introduces her to few staffs of the company and explains a few stuff to her.
"The CEO isn't available now to meet up with you, but you just stick around alright?"
"Alright...thank you Andrew".
She waited long hours to meet Roman Garchew. She learnt he was the CEO and her new boss. She had this feeling they would be besties and he would really like her and maybe she could talk to him about her son's condition, and he'll be kind enough to help her. She smiled within herself. Maybe this was for the best.
After many hours of waiting, she learnt he had gone home. He hadn't even asked about her?
Ok, maybe she had gone too far with her thoughts, maybe she just had to chill and meet with him first.
The next day was also like that, and the days after that. It continued and lasted till almost a month.
She was tired of waiting for a man she had no idea about, and tired of not knowing what to do.
She had given up on meeting him. One morning she arrives work, and goes into the CEO office expecting not to see him as usual. She barges into his office, and gets the shock of her life.
