Emily Gale has been trapped in a loveless marriage for three long years. Married to Hunter Jackson, the most desired and respected man in Bentson City, her life seems perfect from the outside. Rich, handsome, and sophisticated, Hunter is everything any woman could want, but to Emily, his cold disinterest has turned their relationship into an emotional prison. Determined to regain her freedom and dignity, Emily makes the brave decision to file for divorce. Despite Hunter's cold agreement to part ways, signing the papers without a word, something inside her begins to change. However, Emily is ready to put the pain behind her and start over, though the past is not always so easily forgotten. As Emily tries to rebuild her life, new truths come to light and old feelings resurface amidst the confusion. Was their marriage really as empty as she always believed, or is there a hidden bond between them that they never dared to explore? Between secrets, desire and repressed passion, Emily and Hunter will discover that true love does not always follow the expected path.
"We're going to get a divorce." Emily Gale was discouraged as she looked at the gallantly handsome man most women wanted to be with, but now she divorced him.
Hunter Jackson, the most coveted and desired man in Bentson City, was rich, handsome, sophisticated and one of the most respected men in the city. But after three years of marriage, she had lost hope that he would really love her. After three long years, I was going to do the unthinkable and end one of the most envied marriages in the city.
"Divorce. If you want it, you have it. I leave you free. From now on we have nothing to do with each other." Emily endured the harsh words and anguish, but refused to look at him.
Hunter was expressionless, immersed in his thoughts. He took the pen and signed the divorce papers that Emily gave him. Then he got up from the coffee table and left with a confident step. His tall and strong bearing immediately attracted the attention of all the women in the cafeteria.
That was their relationship in a few words. No matter what she did, good or bad, it didn't make any impression on him.
Their relationship had been like this for more than a year, so she had gotten used to it a little. Even if it hurt a lot. As Emily left the cafeteria, her cell phone ringed.
"Wendy," Emily answered the call and biting her lips softly said: "I listened to you and got you to sign the divorce papers."
"Seriously, have you signed the papers?" Wendy Gale could barely hide her excitement and rejoicing.
Emily was confused by her sister's reaction. He frowned and continued, "You're signed, Wendy. Why are you so happy?"
"Ha, Emily, you really divorced Hunter, ha, you're an idiot."
"What the hell are you talking about, little sister?" Emily was even more puzzled. I felt that something was wrong.
"Isn't it obvious that with your divorce from Hunter II you have a chance to marry him?"
Standing in the building in front of Emily, Wendy looked at her from the top floor and laughed hysterically. He said: "Why do you think Hunter has always been so cold to you?"
"But what...?" Emily asked, holding on to her cell phone and, without realizing it, walking towards the main road.
"Because he always blamed you for his brother's death. Do you expect me to love the woman who has killed her little brother?"
"I didn't do it!" Emily protested, "I have nothing to do with Vincent's death, you...?".
Emily's eyes suddenly opened, she realized: "This was your plan from the beginning, she's sick!"
"What are you going to do, tell Hunter the truth? What a shame, it's already too late." Wendy's diabolical laughter seemed to come from the depths of the corridor.
"I won't let you escape! You've deceived me!" Emily hated herself for realizing all this too late.
"I'm afraid you won't have any chance now." Wendy looked at the figure on the road and with an evil smile said: "Look to your left."
Emily looked to the left, but at that moment a strong impact sounded.
A heartbreaking pain ran through his whole body. It was like a leaf drifting in the wind. After being run over by the truck, her body fell to the ground with a strong blow.
His life passed before his eyes. He had spent half his life obsessed with Hunter and trying to make him happy.
He thought that if he had the opportunity to live his life again, he would never love him again. How could she love a man who couldn't reciprocate?
Emily closed her eyes. As he lay there unconsciously, he could not see the handsome man, Hunter Jackson, who ran out of the crowd and lifted his body soaked in blood.
And she couldn't see that the man everyone idolized was crying as he took her to the sidewalk and called 9-11.
He couldn't see that inside his bag, the divorce agreement came out and where Hunter was supposed to have to sign with his name, he had written the words,
NEVER.
Emily's body became icy and she finally let out her last breath.
