But what happened when things took an unexpected twist when the people she called friends were all plotting against her? After all, she is the most hated villain of the book. Who can she trust, who is her foe and her friend, find out on REBORN A VILLAIN.
"What's wrong honey," Ivan softly asked, his hands slowly wrapping her waist, making her lean on him rather than the balcony railing.
"She is all I think about, she is always with you in the daytime, your grandfather loves her more than me, I just want her gone, I don't want to share you with anyone, I barely have time with you during the night," Catherine burst out, her voice filled with frustration as she spoke.
"I can always plan another vacation," he paused, unable to finish his words as she glared at him.
"You have been with me for three years, managing the situation. In a short while, my grandfather will transfer the company to me and I can get rid of her. I love you Cathy and very soon we'll be together, just us, so just wait, a little bit longer," he pleaded.
"I don't want to," She bluntly refused. "Okay, then what about she is in a coma for the one month or so that is remaining," he brought up, capturing her interest.
"What do you mean coma?" She finally asked. "Truck drivers tend to fall asleep while driving and your sister, comes back really late, she gets hit, so badly that it keeps her in a coma but not dead,"
"Or maybe we can then kill her after, I will have the accident plan and it would be natural without my grandfather suspecting us," He whispers, feeling relief when he sees her smile.
"I love you," Catherine muttered, her hands seductively running down his face. She led him to kiss, and their tongue tangled in.
"STOP STOP STOP!!
I screamed at Mia, fully awake, as Mia laughed. "I wonder how long you were going to pretend to be faking sleep," Mia mocked.
"I hate you," I playfully scorned her. "Sadly I hate that book more," I continued. "I remember when you first bought it, Mia, let's get this book, the main lead has the same name," Mia said, mimicking my voice.
"Firstly, I don't sound like that, secondly Claire in that book, was stupid, letting her sister take the credit for saving him, loving a man like him, giving him company, staying with him even though she knows he was slowly killing her, then being a surrogate hoping it would buy her more time, she was stupid in love, something I will never be, I can't believe I wanted my time," I burst out with frustration, using up my every little energy I had left.
"If there is anything I will regret doing, it is reading that book," I quietly mumbled. The atmosphere quickly turned quiet.
"You are dying Claire, in less than an hour or so, my best friend will be gone and I don't know how my life is going to be," Mia burst out.
"If only I had pushed you to the hospital when you first had your symptoms, if only...,"
"Shh," I quietly mumbled, my hands on her lips, stopping her. "Am dying of cancer, no matter how you dragged me to the hospital, I won't have the money to have treated it, so don't blame yourself,"
"I am thankful I have a best friend like you, now I don't want you crying, I don't want the last time I see is your tears," I begged, her hand weak placed on Mia. She nodded, finally accepting my wish.
"The only thing I would regret was reading that book," I managed to joke a little, reducing the tension in the room. "You didn't even read to the end, you should stop regretting the book, maybe it's time to let your hatred go," Mia advised.
"No, I would have done things differently, that's Claire is not me, she doesn't deserve to even answer Claire," I tried arguing but my body was growing weak.
"You should stop talking, the machine," Mia pointed out, her eyes finally realizing how weak my body had become.
I knew she wanted to cry, so I looked away, now staring at the window, watching the sun from outside. I watched Mia go get a doctor, wondering why she was going through those pointless troubles.
Closing my eyes, I opened them once again, finding the book by my side, my weak hands pushing it off the bed but it didn't fall off like I wanted, it only stayed at the edge.
"I wasted my time reading you," I mumbled quickly, finally closing my eyes as the machine fell silent.
"I am free now, the pain is gone," I muttered, closing my eyes. But then the realization hit me, I didn't want to die, I was only making myself seem okay because of Mia.
"Claire," I heard my name being called. A soft voice. "Help me, Claire," it pleaded.
Her soft voice was followed by a series of pictures, almost like someone else's memory.
Although the memory was strange, It felt like I knew this person. I could also feel the pain.
All of a sudden, it stopped, the last I saw was a crash.
The sound of the door opening and shutting draws my attention. It somehow felt like I was alive again.
"This can't be right," I thought, opening my eyes, and finding herself in the hospital but in a different room, one that resembles a VIP suite.
My eyes were fully awake, and the weakness I once felt was gone, it was almost as if I was in a healthy body.
"You are awake," A male voice asked, I slowly turned my head to find a dashing young man, standing in front of me.
His eyes filled with surprise but he quickly calmed himself. "And the doctor said you were not supposed to wake up for another three months," He muttered in disbelief.
"Excuse me, but who are you?" I asked, cutting him short. His eyes instantly filled with worry. "Mrs. Gold, are you alright," he asked, almost immediately, ignoring my questions.
"Mrs Gold," I repeated. "My name is Claire and am not married,". "Where is Mia and why am I in a different hospital bed," I went on with my question.
"Who is Mia? Mrs. Claire Reed Gold, do you know where you are," He asked. The name sounds familiar.
"Am Kelvin, Mr. IvanGold'sd secretary," He finally introduced. "Kelvin, the Kelvin in the book, the proud arrogant Mr. Gold,"
"Mia, you can come out now, your prank not helping," I yelled in disbelief, but his face says it all.
Slapping myself continuously, made the pain real, and made me realize this wasn't a joke, it wasn't a prank either, somehow I have been made the main character of the book I once hated, the CEO VILLAIN WIFE.
