Angel Krytos, the daughter of the pakhan and alpha, found herself forced to accept a divorce she did not want. "Why, Dimitri?" Angel asked her husband, looking at the divorce papers on the table. "What did I do wrong?" "Sign them, Angel," he said, looking at her with a gaze as cold as ice. Her heart sank, and she looked at him for a moment, thinking. He watched as she picked up the pen and signed the paper. But when the great leader, Alpha Dimitri, discovers she is expecting his child, everything changes.

Alpha Dimitri Chapter 1 Divorce

Angel

The morning sun flooded the office, painting the mahogany furniture with golden hues. I stood motionless in front of Dimitri's desk, my trembling fingers resting on the divorce papers. Each printed line felt like a death sentence to what once was our love.

"Dimitri..." My voice came out in a whisper, laden with a mix of supplication and despair. His eyes, usually so warm, now seemed icy, as if a wall of ice had covered them.

"Sign them, Angel," his voice was firm, authoritative, as if there was no room for discussion. As if our entire history, our life together, could be summed up in a simple order.

Why? The question echoed in my mind, but I dared not voice it. Fear? Perhaps. Or maybe it was the fragile hope that if I didn't speak, all of this would be just a passing nightmare.

"What did I do wrong?" The words barely escaped my lips before I could contain them. A torrent of emotions flooded me, making my heart ache painfully in my chest.

His eyes, unyielding, met mine, but there was no compassion in them. Only a relentless coldness, as if my suffering were irrelevant in the face of his will.

It doesn't matter anymore. The answer hit me like a blow, leaving me breathless. I didn't matter anymore. Everything we were, everything we built together, dissipated like smoke in the wind.

With trembling hands, I reached for the pen, each movement an herculean effort. Every stroke I made was like a death sentence to our story, a silent farewell to what once was our future.

When the last signature was placed, a heavy silence descended upon us, filling the space between us with a sense of desolation and hopelessness. I felt empty, as if a part of me had been ripped away, leaving only a black hole in its place.

My mind seemed to spin in a whirlwind of chaotic thoughts as I stared into the void before me. Each breath felt like a weight on my shoulders, each heartbeat echoing like a desperate cry within me.

And then, just as everything seemed to have come to an end, a single question arose in my tormented mind: "And now? What do I do now?"

But before I could even attempt to find an answer to this agonizing question, a familiar voice interrupted the sepulchral silence that had settled around us.

"Angel... How much do you want to sign this damn paper?"

I turned slowly to face Dimitri, my eyes meeting his in search of any sign of understanding, of mercy, but all I found was an unwavering coldness, as if he himself had become an extension of the cruel determination that forced me to sign those papers.

"What do you mean, Dimitri? Are you implying that I..." My voice sounded firmer than I expected, even as I felt shattered, helpless before the abyss that lay before me.

Dimitri hesitated for a moment, his eyes shifting away from mine before returning with an almost intimidating intensity. "Just tell me your price, one million? Two? Three? You know I have as much as you need," his voice was a low murmur, but each word was like a blow that pierced me.

I swallowed hard, fighting to contain the tears that threatened to overflow. "My price... I never cared about money, you know that very well. We've been together for two years," I repeated, as if the words were a mantra I needed to convince myself of their truth.

But how? How could I simply move on, when everything I knew, everything I loved, had been torn from me so brutally?

Yet, even as despair threatened to consume me, a faint flame of determination burned within me. I was Angel Krytos, daughter of the pakhan and alpha, and although my world may have collapsed around me, I would not allow it to destroy me completely. Dimitri rose abruptly from his chair, an expression of irritation crossing his previously impassive demeanor. His eyes gleamed with a glacial intensity as he fixed his gaze on me, as if I were a mere inconvenience in his path.

"Enough, Angel. 10 million will be transferred to you, I think that's more than enough for you to keep discreet and start your life over," his voice was a thunder, resonating in the heavy silence of the office. "The security guards are here to take your things. Leave immediately."

The blow was like a punch to the stomach, momentarily robbing me of breath. The cutting coldness in his voice made it clear that there was no room for arguments, for farewells, for anything beyond the cold and relentless order he had just given.

A knot formed in my throat, a mixture of anger and sadness bubbling inside me. How dare he? How could he simply cast me out, as if I were an unwanted animal?

But even as indignation boiled in my veins, a small voice inside reminded me that I couldn't fight against the tide that was pulling me away from the only home I knew.

I swallowed hard, forcing myself to maintain composure in the face of Dimitri's disdainful gaze. With a resigned nod, I turned and began to gather my things, each movement feeling like a blow to my wounded pride.

The security guards remained silent, watching me with impassive gazes as I packed my few belongings. Every object, every memory, was a painful reminder of what I was losing.

And then, with one last look at the man I once loved but who now expelled me like an unwanted stranger, I turned and left the office behind.

Outside the mansion, the fresh morning air brought a sense of freedom mixed with the pain of loss. With my suitcases by my side, I looked back at the grand house I once called home. On my phone, a notification appeared showing the million-dollar amount that had already been transferred to my account. My hand instinctively went to my belly, a silent promise to the little being growing inside me.

"Now it's just us two," I murmured, determined to find a new life, a new hope, for me and my child.

I went to the City Clerk’s office for a routine copy of my marriage license to finalize a trust fund audit. I expected a simple piece of paper, but the clerk’s pitying look told me my entire life was a lie. "The license was never finalized, Ms. Oliver. In the eyes of the state, you are single." The three-hundred-guest wedding at the Plaza and the Vogue features meant nothing. My husband, Gray Cooley, had intentionally filed the documents with a "procedural defect" so he could discard me without a legal divorce. Moments later, an iCloud invite titled "Our Little Secret" popped up on my screen. It was a photo of my best friend, Brylee, holding a positive pregnancy test at our Hamptons estate. Gray’s text to her was the final blow: "Happy anniversary, babe. This baby is the best gift. Once the trust unlocks today, we’re done with the charade." I soon discovered they were even stealing my career, reassigning my architectural masterpiece to Brylee while preparing my eviction notice. Gray's mother called me a "barren mule" in a leaked recording, mocking the infertility I suffered after saving Gray’s life in a construction accident. I wasn't a wife; I was a three-year placeholder used to secure his inheritance. How could the man I bled for treat me like a disposable prop? How could my best friend carry his child while pretending to comfort me through my darkest moments? The betrayal burned until it turned into a cold, hard stone of fury. I didn't cry. Instead, I walked into the penthouse of the Barretts, the Cooleys' most powerful rivals. I signed a marriage contract with Kane Barrett, the man the tabloids called the "Beast of Wall Street." "I want a wedding," I told his father, my voice steady and lethal. "Bigger than the one I had with Gray." If they wanted me gone, they would have to watch me become the woman who owns their world.

Today is October 14th, my birthday. I returned to New York after months away, dragging my suitcase through the biting wind, but the VIP pickup zone where my husband's Maybach usually idled was empty. When I finally let myself into our Upper East Side penthouse, I didn't find a cake or a "welcome home" banner. Instead, I found my husband, Caden, kneeling on the floor, helping our five-year-old daughter wrap a massive gift for my half-sister, Adalynn. Caden didn't even look up when I walked in; he was too busy laughing with the girl who had already stolen my father's legacy and was now moving in on my family. "Auntie Addie is a million times better than Mommy," my daughter Elara chirped, clutching a plush toy Caden had once forbidden me from buying for her. "Mommy is mean," she whispered loudly, while Caden just smirked, calling me a "drill sergeant" before whisking her off to Adalynn's party without a second glance. Later that night, I saw a video Adalynn posted online where my husband and child laughed while mocking my "sensitive" nature, treating me like an inconvenient ghost in my own home. I had spent five years researching nutrition for Elara's health and managing every detail of Caden's empire, only to be discarded the moment I wasn't in the room. How could the man who set his safe combination to my birthday completely forget I even existed? The realization didn't break me; it turned me into ice. I didn't scream or beg for an explanation. I simply walked into the study, pulled out the divorce papers I'd drafted months ago, and took a black marker to the terms. I crossed out the alimony, the mansion, and even the custody clause-if they wanted a life without me, I would give them exactly what they asked for. I left my four-carat diamond ring on the console table and walked out into the rain with nothing but a heavily encrypted hard drive. The submissive Mrs. Holloway was gone, and "Ghost," the most lethal architect in the tech world, was finally back online to take back everything they thought I'd forgotten.
