With pain that she couldn't endure, she visited a club and drank herself to stupor. But everything changed the next day when she woke up in the room of a strange man, Hayes. Only for her to discover that she has signed herself to be a whore to him. How did this happen?

Chapter 1 Wave of betrayal

Alexis POV

"Hello, Alexis. I can't believe my eyes. At the moment, your fiancƩ is getting married to another woman at the royal garden you so much adore. Come right now to see for yourself." Lucy, a close friend of mine, said this to me over the phone.

My brain shut dead and my heart panted with disbelief. 'My soon-to-be husband is tying the knot with another woman? That must certainly be a joke.' Although I was in disbelief, fear gripped my heart, and I couldn't just stay put in my one-room apartment.

With my tight, black gown getting in the way of my speed, my leg twisted, and I tripped, hitting my right arm against the wall.

'Arsh!' I groaned in pain as I managed to hold myself up without falling. Balancing myself, I rushed out of my room with haste without minding the present pain I felt in my arm.

Getting to the road, I stopped a yellow taxi, and it conveyed me until I got to the junction of the royal garden. Stepping out of the taxi, I paid the driver while I paced actively to behold what I just heard over the phone.

The royal garden had a big golden gate, and in front of it were two security men actively working to protect those that were inside the royal garden.

I didn't mind and wanted to walk through the gate without their permission.

"Where is your gate pass, ma'am?" One of the security men in a black suit asked me.

My eyes glinted cold. "a gate pass? I don't have one." I responded coldly.

"I am sorry, ma'am, but there is no way you can go inside without the pass." He spoke with a firm voice.

That only triggered my anger. "I don't need your fucking gate pass to get in." Speaking harshly, I angrily went through their midst with all the strength in me. Even though they were trying to stop me, I managed to open the gate, and I stepped inside.

Before me was a properly arranged white wedding event while the groom and the bride stood in the front of the altar, ready to be joined together.

My heart twisted in pain not only for the betrayal from my fiancƩ but also for the choice of the person he chose to get married to.

'Veronica, my stepsister?!' I muttered while my eyes widened as the betrayal settled in. The grip of the security men knotted my skin, which made me feel unbearable pain, and I reacted with irritation. "Leave me already! I need to face that whore that snatched my man." My eyes brimmed with anger, and my voice echoed throughout the garden.

"Huh!" The crowd seated to witness the conjugal bliss echoed with shock, and they started murmuring one to another.

Some of the people took out their phones to record what was happening.

Even though I was an introvert, I didn't feel shy in the presence of the crowd.

The security men loosened their grip on me when my supposed fiancƩ, Alexander, waved at them.

I walked briskly to the front of the altar and I ditched a thunderous slap on the face of the billionaire, Alexander, for the betrayal.

But the slap was returned almost at the same time by my stepsister, Veronica. "How dare you lay your filthy hand on my wealthy husband?! Are you courting death?" She snapped fiercely.

My face gleamed with pain while I laid my hand on where I had just been fiercely slapped. My eyes fixated on my supposed fiancƩ, and all I could see was a mocking smirk on his face.

Tears laced underneath my eyeballs while I opened my mouth to speak. "Did I just hear you call him your husband? A man you once hated to the bone?" "Have you forgotten that you told me you would rather be single than date a man like him? You are my sister, Veronica, and I did not expect this from you."

She shot a deadly glare at me. "I am not your sister, Alexis. And for your information, you trusted the wrong person. Now that I am married to him, there is nothing you can do about it." She spoke without remorse.

I gritted my teeth and clenched my fist in anger.

"Enough of your nuance display, Alexis. Get yourself out of here and let me have my wedding with Veronica in peace." He spoke without considering my emotions, and my heart shredded apart.

I glared at his eyes with disgust while Veronica looked at me with a mocking glare. I turned to take my leave while a lot of thoughts ran through my heart.

Memories of how close I was with Veronica crossed my mind. I trusted Veronica with everything, and this was how she would repay me.

My supposed soon-to-be husband made me regret the day I met him while I reminisced about the sacrifice I made to ensure our relationship was in place.

I rushed out of the royal garden, and by the time I got home, I didn't get myself.

When the night came, I had to leave my house just to free myself from what I was passing through.

For the first time in my life, I visited a club. Before me were dazzling bulbs, with serene music and some people dancing to the tone of the song.

But that wasn't my problem; I went to the bar and got myself a bottle of vodka. I didn't hesitate to take more than one shot, and the rest was history.

The next day.

I opened my eyes only for me to see myself in a different room. "Where am I?" Asking that question, I gazed leftwards, and my eyes met with a man in his 30s.

My heart fled for a moment as I let out a loud scream. "Arh!" while I raised my hand to beat him.

But he caught my hand halfway before it could meet his skin. Even though his eyes were charming and seductive, he shot a deadly glare at me. "Wait! Are you trying to hit this delicate skin with these filthy hands?" He smirked in irritation. "Just a scratch from you, and I bet you will have to literally sell yourself to pay for damaging my skin."
