As their wedding approaches, Britney catches her fiancé, Conrad, cheating on her with her own cousin, Stephanie. Resolute, she calls off the engagement immediately. That same day, she suffers a car accident but is fortunately rescued by a mysterious man. Upon waking up in the hospital, Britney, still shaken by her near-death experience, gazes at the stranger who saved her. A bold thought crosses her mind, she looks up at Manuel Castro and says, "Marry me, and I'll support you financially!" Manuel raises an eyebrow, gazing at this disheveled yet determined woman, and to her surprise, he agrees, "Alright." Britney had heard that men stationed at the training area and don't have many day offs, with few women around them, so she assumes a marriage to him would shield her from romantic entanglements and let her focus on her own life. Expecting a carefree life post-marriage, Britney is taken aback when, within just two months, Manuel completely overturns her assumptions. Every evening, he returns home early, pulling her gently into his arms, his gaze warm with affection and deep longing. The tender passion he shows leaves her no room to escape. One morning, as the soft sunlight filters through the bedroom, Britney wakes to see Manuel still asleep beside her, frustration and irritation filling her mind. "Mr. Castro, shouldn't you be back at the training base by now?" she asks. He opens his sleepy eyes, a mischievous smile playing at his lips. "Didn't someone promise to support me?" Britney, rubbing her sore back, feels a strong sense of foreboding. But before she can protest, Manuel pulls her back into his embrace, whispering softly in her ear, "Your husband is temporarily off duty."

Goodbye, Mr. Ex: I've Remarried Mr. Right Chapter 1 1

In January, Goldmoor's chill still lingered in the air, almost freezing.

Britney Hammond stepped out of the shopping mall, tightening her white wool coat, revealing a face of breathtaking beauty. Carrying the items she had chosen, she got into a private car, her beautiful face glowing with joy as she glanced at the things beside her.

"Miss, the new in-law was such a lucky man to be having you as his wife!" the old driver chuckled.

"Diego!" Britney softly chided, though her cheeks were tinged with a blush.

Her slender fingers gently caressed the texture of the black sweater inside the shopping bag, and her heart was filled with indescribable joy. The wedding date was set for the end of January, which was a good day. This meant that in just three days, she would be marrying him.

As the wedding day approached, she would always go shopping with her best friend, and they would only look at things that were not others, but items that she had bought for him according to his preferences.

Lost in thought, Diego had skillfully parked the car in front of a small villa and respectfully opened the door for Britney.

Britney carried her things and walked towards the villa with a light and brisk pace.

Walking up to the door of the room, Britney blew a breath of hot air into her palm and opened the door without any forewarning.

As she stepped inside, her gaze fell upon the sight of two intertwined bodies on the red wedding bed, a harsh and unsettling image that filled her with shock and discomfort.

The intimate sounds reached her ears,

and the movements on the bed stilled, as if sensing someone had entered.

Her soon-to-be husband, who she had thought of as devoted and perfect, was staring at her with a face still filled with desire, seemingly caught off guard.

However, that desire was for someone else.

Underneath him lay a woman with beautiful figure, she even pulled him down and pouted when she didn't get the satisifaction. However, after realizing Britney's presence, shyly tried to cover herself with the bedsheet next to her.

"Cousin!" The voice was weak, completely different from the excited tone just now.

"Britney..."

The man nervously picked up the clothes next to him to cover his lower body. He took a few steps toward Britney, and tried to reach for her, but she stepped back and dodged his hand.

Britney's upbringing made her try to stay calm, not crying or making a fuss.clenched the items in her hands tightly, as if seeking for a hint of support. Step by step, she retreated and walked towards the living room.

Five minutes later, the two people who were just naked a moment ago, were already dressed and sitting across from Britney.

"Cousin, I will sever this relationship with Conrad!" said Stephanie Hammond, Britney's cousin who is one month younger than her.

Britney ignored Stephanie and kept staring at Conrad Schwartz, who had a pained expression on his face and remained silent.

Seeing that her words had no effect, Stephanie knelt on the ground, hands on her lower abdomen, looking distressed. "I won't keep this child... I won't get in the way of your marriage! Please, don't blame Conrad!"

Conrad heard these words, looked up, and his eyes met Britney's gaze.

The man in front of her, who had once made countless promises of eternal love, collapsed in an instant. She couldn't believe it. The man who had treated her so well in front of others, when proposing to her in front of everyone, said, "Britney, I only want to marry you in this lifetime! I only love you! I only cherish you!" But then he turned around and got involved with her cousin, and even had a child with her!

"I had no interest in second-hand goods!" Britney said with a low voice tinged with sarcasm. Her heart was being twisted painfully...

"Britney!" Conrad exclaimed incredulously as he looked at the woman in front of him. He couldn't believe that the gentle and elegant woman would utter such heartless words.

"I have said before that what I want is loyalty in love. Since you are not loyal to our love, we are done!" Britney said, speaking so decisively.

"But... in three days, we were going to have our wedding!" Conrad said.

Britney laughed, a cold laugh. "So, you want me to pretend that everything between you two never happened? Or should I be your first wife, she'll be your second?" Britney finished speaking and looked at Stephanie. Stephanie stared back at Britney, but her eyes no longer held the softness they had before. Instead, there was a hint of coldness.

Britney paid no attention to Stephanie's almost hostile gaze and instead looked at Conrad, who remained silent across from her.

Scenes from the past flashed through Britney's mind, contrasting with the present... Conrad's attitude left Britney feeling numb with pain.

"Britney!" Conrad walked over, trying to grab Britney's hand. Britney stood up, without a moment's hesitation, turned around and left!

Stephanie held Conrad's hand from behind, leading him back into the room. "Conrad, give her some time to calm down first!" she said, turning her back but with a smug smile on her lips.

Britney walked step by step, her footsteps floating, looking somewhat disheveled.

Every tree and every blade of grass here has been infused with her heart and soul, she feared that any imperfection might mar their marriage. But from now on, she would never come here again!

It was a cold winter day, but Britney didn't feel cold at this moment.

Just walked out of the villa gate.

Two cars, coming from two different directions, were driving towards here without slowing down, but instead getting faster.

"Bang..." A loud crash.

Inside the heated, intimate bedroom, the man once again climbed onto the red wedding bed, unaware of the crash outside.

I stood at my mother’s open grave in the freezing rain, my heels sinking into the mud. The space beside me was empty. My husband, Hilliard Holloway, had promised to cherish me in bad times, but apparently, burying my mother didn't fit into his busy schedule. While the priest’s voice droned on, a news alert lit up my phone. It was a livestream of the Metropolitan Charity Gala. There was Hilliard, looking impeccable in a custom tuxedo, with his ex-girlfriend Charla English draped over his arm. The headline read: "Holloway & English: A Power Couple Reunited?" When he finally returned to our penthouse at 2 AM, he didn't come alone—he brought Charla with him. He claimed she’d had a "medical emergency" at the gala and couldn't be left alone. I found a Tiffany diamond necklace on our coffee table meant for her birthday, and a smudge of her signature red lipstick on his collar. When I confronted him, he simply told me to stop being "hysterical" and "acting like a child." He had no idea I was seven months pregnant with his child. He thought so little of my grief that he didn't even bother to craft a convincing lie, laughing with his mistress in our home while I sat in the dark with a shattered heart and a secret life growing inside me. "He doesn't deserve us," I whispered to the darkness. I didn't scream or beg. I simply left a folder on his desk containing signed divorce papers and a forged medical report for a terminated pregnancy. I disappeared into the night, letting him believe he had successfully killed his own legacy through his neglect. Five years later, Hilliard walked into "The Vault," the city's most exclusive underground auction, looking for a broker to manage his estate. He didn't recognize me behind my Venetian mask, but he couldn't ignore the neon pink graffiti on his armored Maybach that read "DEADBEAT." He had no clue that the three brilliant triplets currently hacking his security system were the very children he thought had been erased years ago. This time, I wasn't just a wife in the way; I was the one holding all the cards.

The sterile white of the operating room blurred, then sharpened, as Skye Sterling felt the cold clawing its way up her body. The heart monitor flatlined, a steady, high-pitched whine announcing her end. Her uterus had been removed, a desperate attempt to stop the bleeding, but the blood wouldn't clot. It just kept flowing, warm and sticky, pooling beneath her. Through heavy eyes, she saw a trembling nurse holding a phone on speaker. "Mr. Kensington," the nurse's voice cracked, "your wife... she's critical." A pause, then a sweet, poisonous giggle. Seraphina Miller. "Liam is in the shower," Seraphina's voice purred. "Stop calling, Skye. It's pathetic. Faking a medical emergency on our anniversary? Even for you, that's low." Then, Liam's bored voice: "If she dies, call the funeral home. I have a meeting in the morning." Click. The line went dead. A second later, so did Skye. The darkness that followed was absolute, suffocating, a black ocean crushing her lungs. She screamed into the void, a silent, agonizing wail of regret for loving a man who saw her as a nuisance, for dying without ever truly living. Until she died, she didn't understand. Why was her life so tragically wasted? Why did her husband, the man she loved, abandon her so cruelly? The injustice of it all burned hotter than the fever in her body. Then, the air rushed back in. Skye gasped, her body convulsing violently on the mattress. Her eyes flew open, wide and terrified, staring blindly into the darkness. Her trembling hand reached for her phone. May 12th. Five years ago. She was back.
