The pain in her head was miserable. Safia had difficulty even in opening her eyes. But when finally she did, a chord struck in her throat. A very handsome man was sleeping beside her in his half naked glory with his head ducked to the pillow. Alarm leaped like a hurricane in her head. How did she end up with an unknown man in her bed? Oh wait! This was not her home. The place looked eerily quiet and was way too costly than hers. It screamed power and money. Safia panicked. She was not drunk nor on drugs. How come she has no memory of her past? She carefully slipped away from under the covers. But it was too late. The man beside her had already woken up. "Who are you? Why are you in my bed?" Safia squealed in worry. Much against her expectation the guy was very much composed. He signaled to the ring on her finger and opened the drawer beside him before throwing the marriage testament on her face. "We are married. You are my wife now. Be ready to welcome the life of thorns." "What?"

Shadow's Decree Chapter 1 Flash Marriage

He slipped away the covers covering his muscled body with a simple flex and walked to the washroom attached to the room, completely nude with not even a trace of reticence.

Safia did not know till then she was holding her breath. Her shivering hands reached the mobile beside the bed on the side table before she dialed her father.

Soren Jose Blacksmith was spontaneous attending to his daughter on the second ring. Before she could speak he started, "I'm sorry princess. Whatever happened, please consider it as a part of destiny. It was unavoidable. We needed to save our company. Sion Canes was the most prosperous investor who had applied for our company shares. And I had to accept his offer to save our business."

Safia was shocked by the act of her father. "What do you mean? Dad! Did you just sell me to an alien without my knowledge by drugging me to save our company?"

Soren was about to speak but before he could do so, Safia cut the call. Sion walked out of the washroom with his towel hanging low and water droplets passing through his sturdy sternum. He was surely a man to impress. "Get ready within half an hour. You don't have the time to gawk at me like a bloody hawk. We need to sign the contract. The lawyer is waiting downstairs."

"What contract?" Safia was perturbed, which was an understatement. But before she could finish her sentence the door closed with a bang.

The bath took more than the time planned for it because the tears in the eyes of Safia wouldn't dry up! She felt her entire life shattered just within a fortnight. Who is this man?

Ten minutes later Safia walked down the stairs in a sky blue floral gown which was placed on the bed after she came out of the shower. Her eyes were red but she did little to cover the sorrow leaping out of them.

"Good Morning ma'am, I'm Brad Pearson, the lawyer of Wellcrow Vineyards. Here is your marriage contract with Sion Canes. Please read it and sign the contract." He shook hands with Safia and handed the document to her.

Sion was comfortably seated in the executive couch before her. He was sipping his morning coffee, guarding her emotions carefully. "You have no excuse but to sign it. Otherwise I withdraw my shares in your family company and your firm will be sealed. I think you are smart enough to save that humiliation. Your creditors are already waiting on when that happens so that they could get their share from the bank for the firm's insolvency."

Thankfully her brain was still functioning. "Why would you want to buy a company which is on the verge of insolvency? Wellcrow Vineyards is a big name."

Sion extended his hands on the couch's backrest and with one leg above the other in all his ascendency like a king. He looked at Safia with contempt as if she was some old piece of rag. "Because taking over seemingly white elephants, studying the mysterious gains hidden in them from the world is my profession and is what is called smart business."

"I will never allow you to take over my company." Safia yelled angrily but Sion was not the person to get his hackles rise over petty issues.

He shrugged and pointed to the document in her hands. "Sign it. I don't have all day to argue with you."

"The contract says that Safia Jose Blacksmith will be the lawfully wedded wife of Sion Canes for the next two years. After the expiry of the term both the individuals have the choice to continue on the marriage or opt out. But as long as the wedding is alive, Safia can't be in a relationship with anybody or have sex." The lawyer stated the contents in the document to Safia.

"Why is the condition only for me and not him?" She asked the lawyer?

"Why do you want to marry me? You could have simply bought the shares of my company." Safia wanted clarity about her wedding.

Sion allowed his head back and left a loud conceited laugh. "Because killing is single time suffering for the person you hate. But if you marry, every day is a living hell!"

"What?" Safia's face turned pale with uncensored fright in her eyes. "Why do you hate me so much? We did not even meet each other before."

Before she could realize she felt a sharp sting on her cheek and the composed man before her till moments ago was like a ferocious monster with vile in his cool blue eyes.

No words were found in her brain and neither were they required. She was clueless about his unlimited hatred for her and the man before her wouldn't give away any reason. Safia's hands shook with shiver while she signed the contract and ran back through the stairs to her room crying.

He just married her out of vengeance. But why?

The sterile white of the operating room blurred, then sharpened, as Skye Sterling felt the cold clawing its way up her body. The heart monitor flatlined, a steady, high-pitched whine announcing her end. Her uterus had been removed, a desperate attempt to stop the bleeding, but the blood wouldn't clot. It just kept flowing, warm and sticky, pooling beneath her. Through heavy eyes, she saw a trembling nurse holding a phone on speaker. "Mr. Kensington," the nurse's voice cracked, "your wife... she's critical." A pause, then a sweet, poisonous giggle. Seraphina Miller. "Liam is in the shower," Seraphina's voice purred. "Stop calling, Skye. It's pathetic. Faking a medical emergency on our anniversary? Even for you, that's low." Then, Liam's bored voice: "If she dies, call the funeral home. I have a meeting in the morning." Click. The line went dead. A second later, so did Skye. The darkness that followed was absolute, suffocating, a black ocean crushing her lungs. She screamed into the void, a silent, agonizing wail of regret for loving a man who saw her as a nuisance, for dying without ever truly living. Until she died, she didn't understand. Why was her life so tragically wasted? Why did her husband, the man she loved, abandon her so cruelly? The injustice of it all burned hotter than the fever in her body. Then, the air rushed back in. Skye gasped, her body convulsing violently on the mattress. Her eyes flew open, wide and terrified, staring blindly into the darkness. Her trembling hand reached for her phone. May 12th. Five years ago. She was back.

Flash Marriage To My Best Friend's Father

Flash Marriage To My Best Friend's Father

Madel Cerda

I was once the heiress to the Solomon empire, but after it crumbled, I became the "charity case" ward of the wealthy Hyde family. For years, I lived in their shadows, clinging to the promise that Anson Hyde would always be my protector. That promise shattered when Anson walked into the ballroom with Claudine Chapman on his arm. Claudine was the girl who had spent years making my life a living hell, and now Anson was announcing their engagement to the world. The humiliation was instant. Guests sneered at my cheap dress, and a waiter intentionally sloshed champagne over me, knowing I was a nobody. Anson didn't even look my way; he was too busy whispering possessively to his new fiancée. I was a ghost in my own home, watching my protector celebrate with my tormentor. The betrayal burned. I realized I wasn't a ward; I was a pawn Anson had kept on a shelf until he found a better trade. I had no money, no allies, and a legal trust fund that Anson controlled with a flick of his wrist. Fleeing to the library, I stumbled into Dallas Koch-a titan of industry and my best friend's father. He was a wall of cold, absolute power that even the Hydes feared. "Marry me," I blurted out, desperate to find a shield Anson couldn't climb. Dallas didn't laugh. He pulled out a marriage agreement and a heavy fountain pen. "Sign," he commanded, his voice a low rumble. "But if you walk out that door with me, you never go back." I signed my name, trading my life for the only man dangerous enough to keep me safe.

I went to the City Clerk’s office for a routine copy of my marriage license to finalize a trust fund audit. I expected a simple piece of paper, but the clerk’s pitying look told me my entire life was a lie. "The license was never finalized, Ms. Oliver. In the eyes of the state, you are single." The three-hundred-guest wedding at the Plaza and the Vogue features meant nothing. My husband, Gray Cooley, had intentionally filed the documents with a "procedural defect" so he could discard me without a legal divorce. Moments later, an iCloud invite titled "Our Little Secret" popped up on my screen. It was a photo of my best friend, Brylee, holding a positive pregnancy test at our Hamptons estate. Gray’s text to her was the final blow: "Happy anniversary, babe. This baby is the best gift. Once the trust unlocks today, we’re done with the charade." I soon discovered they were even stealing my career, reassigning my architectural masterpiece to Brylee while preparing my eviction notice. Gray's mother called me a "barren mule" in a leaked recording, mocking the infertility I suffered after saving Gray’s life in a construction accident. I wasn't a wife; I was a three-year placeholder used to secure his inheritance. How could the man I bled for treat me like a disposable prop? How could my best friend carry his child while pretending to comfort me through my darkest moments? The betrayal burned until it turned into a cold, hard stone of fury. I didn't cry. Instead, I walked into the penthouse of the Barretts, the Cooleys' most powerful rivals. I signed a marriage contract with Kane Barrett, the man the tabloids called the "Beast of Wall Street." "I want a wedding," I told his father, my voice steady and lethal. "Bigger than the one I had with Gray." If they wanted me gone, they would have to watch me become the woman who owns their world.

I Slapped My Fiancé-Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis

I Slapped My Fiancé-Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis

Jessica C. Dolan

Being second best is practically in my DNA. My sister got the love, the attention, the spotlight. And now, even her damn fiancé. Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now-billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn't mind. I'd crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one? Wrong. One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That's when it hit me-he didn't love me. He didn't even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn't even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup. So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster-my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise. Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol. Enter him. Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I'd met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes. It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised. But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life. And, as it turned out, the best decision I'd ever made. Because my one-night stand isn't just some random guy. He's richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with. And now, he's not letting me go.
