Chelsea got out of the cab and got ready to enter the luxurious bar. She couldn't deny that she was a little nervous, it was her first date with Fred, the guy she met on one of the most recent apps. Unlike the rest of the dating apps, the user's profile is incognito, so she is literally on a blind date.
She goes to the bar, orders a gin and tonic, it's her drink of choice, not to mention that it allows her to get out of his shyness a bit. Sh looks at his watch a couple of times.
"Should I write him?" She mutters under her breath. She opens his bag to extract her cell phone, and as is often the case, she can't find it, “For Gods sake, where di I leave my cell phone?. —She puts his finger to his forehead, tapping lightly as she repeats, "Think Chel, think. —suddenly she remembers that he must have left it on the marble counter in the kitchen— “It had to be there. All for leaving in a hurry to arrive on time and he doesn't arrive. I have no choice but to wait for him. But how will I know it's him? He never told me how I would be dressed, of course I didn't either”.
She will wait only twenty minutes, if he has not arrived in that period she will leave. While she keeps to her soliloquy, she decides to go to the dressing table and touch up her makeup, she wants to look perfect, she wants to dazzle her man. It's been more than a year since she had her last conquest, and she wants to look as normal as the rest of her friends.
"Excuse me, the ladies' room?" she asks the bartender, and he points down the hallway. She stands up, makes a gesture with her hand that she will soon be back.
As she touching up her makeup, she sees that a couple of minutes have passed, so she returns to the bar, sits down, and keeps moving her leg impatiently; Among the few lights that illuminate the place, she distinguishes the silhouette of a man.
"Will it be him?" She watches him pull out his cell phone and call a couple of times. She assumes that yes, it must be him who is trying to call her. She sits down, orders another drink, and looks at him—"Five minutes and I walk over. Just that”.
Meanwhile, the man also perceives the insistence with which the girl at the bar looks at him.
"Pretty baby.” He murmurs— “If you don't show up at that door in five minutes, Larissa Hamilton, you're going to regret it because I'm not going to stay tonight without having a good time."
Suddenly, he sees the beautiful girl approaching the table. She looks at him as if expecting him to react in the same way as she does, showing interest.
"Fred?" She asks with some hesitation. If he was her blind date, she'd nailed it this time, that man was perfect.
"Yes! Yes, sit down." He gets up, takes the chair, and she sits down.
As she tries to calm her nervousness, he moistens his lips and thinks about devouring that candy with paper and all.
"I saw you were calling me. Sorry, I left my phone forgotten on the counter at home.
"Yes, I was about to leave," he discreetly pulls out his phone and turns it off while thinking "sorry dear, your substitute has arrived"
"Well, tell me, how have you been?" Last night I couldn't connect to chat because I was a bit busy doing some resumes to look for a job.
"I missed not seeing you on social media," he adds with extreme mischief. He can see her blush. "What do you want to drink?" He asks.
"I don't know, I have already drunk a pair of gin and tonics," he raises both eyebrows in surprise at her answer.
"You're ahead of me, but how about we toast with Champagne, it's a unique occasion, don't you think?"
"Sure, no problem.”
He calls the innkeeper, who upon seeing him greets him with confidence, just as he goes to call him by name he gestures to him to stop it.
"Welcome to you and your companion tonight.
"Champagne to toast with my dear..." He pauses and she steps forward to answer:
"Chelsea." Forgot my name? She asks, a little puzzled.
"Not at all. It's just that I'm a little unfocused, you know the work.
"You told me you were a graphic designer, didn't you?"
