The night smelled like blood. Ryker Storm stood at the edge of his territory, his chest rising slowly as the wind carried a scent he had never forgotten. Dark. Powerful. Dangerous. "Kael Draven..." he muttered, his jaw tightening. The Alpha King had finally come. A low growl rumbled deep in his chest as shadows moved between the trees. Then- He stepped out. Tall. Dominant. Untouchable. Kael Draven's presence alone was enough to make weaker wolves bow. But Ryker wasn't weak. Their eyes locked. And the world... stilled. Something snapped. Not anger. Not fear. Something deeper.
Something forbidden. Mate. The word hit Ryker like a punch to the chest. "No..." he whispered under his breath. It was impossible. Two Alphas? Never. Kael's eyes darkened, as if he felt it too.
