Chapter 1

Fucking typical, my dad just had to show today of all days. He made me CEO of the company but yet will not let me run the company. He stepped down a year ago after having a massive heart attack, it almost killed him. My mother begged him to step down and hand the reins to me. He was apprehensive saying I was too young, that I was still too interested in the playboy lifestyle. We own hotels, one of the biggest hotel chains In New York LA, Malibu, and Miami. We are the Chandlers. My name is Alexi Petrov Chandler. My mother is Russian and my father is American. I was born in the States but spent a lot of time with my mother in Russia. I speak fluent Russian and English. I was a typical rich trust fund kid, spoiled, partied hard, and played hard. Always in trouble with the media there to film or photograph it all. I cleaned up my act when I was made CEO promising my mother not to fuck it all up.

"Father, nice to see you here today"

"Cut the crap Alexi, what's this shit I'm reading about you, I told you to clean up your fucking act, look at this shit" he slammed the newspaper down in front of me, 'oh fuck', that is why he is here.

"I can explain father, just hear me out"

"Oh I'm listening boy, I'm listening"

"Tammy broke up with me that night, I had a few too many drinks at the club, it was the night you named me CEO, I went to celebrate, that picture is months old, I don't know why that is only surfacing now, a girl was all over me, I was so drunk I didn't notice, Tammy lost her shit and threw her engagement ring at me and stormed out, I was going after her to explain"

"Going after her son, It looks like you were hitting her, what am I supposed to do, I can't let you destroy this company anymore, you need to step down, go to rehab, and clean yourself up, Alexi"

"You're demoting me, maybe if you would ever trust me I wouldn't feel so fucking useless here, you won't let me do anything I have put forward many plans that get shot down, the only reason you made me CEO is to keep your name and legacy alive, it wasn't to give me any say at all, was it?"

"No it wasn't, I told you, your too young Alexi, you live like a socialite, not a businessman, how could I ever trust you with my company, your still just a boy"

"That picture is months old, I've cleaned up since then, I've been trying really hard, I'm 25 years old you son of a bitch, fine demote me, I don't care, I'm done" and with that, I walked away.

I stormed out,

"Mother I need to speak with you, it's urgent" I threw my phone on my desk while I packed my shit up, I've had enough of it all, I don't need him, I have my trust fund, I have investors, I'm going to open the resort that these dick heads rejected. My phone rang, it was my mother, Alena Petrova, a force to be reckoned with. Young, talented, rich, beautiful, a former catwalk model, and with a very wealthy, powerful family back home in Russia. I don't know why my parents are still married, they hate each other, they have many affairs yet will not divorce.

"Alexi, what's happened, your father is furious with you"

"Hi mom, he is, for something that happened months ago but it's now in the headlines, the night Tammy broke up with me, I quit, I'm sick of being his puppet, I can't do it anymore, I will start my own company, are you still interested in the resort idea I pitched to you?"

"Yes I loved that idea, did they reject it again?"

"I never even got that far mother, it was crazy, I'm just leaving now, can you meet me with that guy you talked about?"

"Yes, your father will go crazy, you know that right?"

"Let him, I've had enough, he can give the business to Lorena, she won't mind being his puppet" Lorena is my younger sister. A daddy's girl.

"Fine, where will I meet you?"

"My place"

I drove home, and gathered all the documents for the resort, it was to be Chandler's resort, it will now be Petrov's resort. I texted my assistant, I had told her if they reject me again I will go ahead with it anyway under a different name.

"So are you with me or with them Sarah" God I hope she says yes, she's good.

"With you, are we doing the resort?"

"Yes be at mine asap"
