Chapter 1 The dog and the donkey

The donkey and the house dog

One day the donkey was taking the air when he met the house dog. 'Tell me he said since you've been living with human beings, what is it that you've learned?' I've learned 12 different dodges 'Said the house dog and if ever I find myself in a tight place any one of them is good enough to get me out.

'Well you are a lucky dog 'said the donkey. 'Oh, I don't know' said the house dog. I will tell you what to do, said the donkey. Let's go to the let's go to the teacher and have our fortunes told. Alright, set the dog. 'Let's 'So they set off together and after a while they came to a dense grove of trees. They traded their way through it until they reach the place which was shot in all sides and there they saw the entrance hall of a house. Inside there was nothing but bundles of paper. ' Let's sit down 'said the donkey want as the teacher appears. So, they sat down and before a long hyena cub appeared.' Teacher' he called out, 'we've got guests'. This brought in another cub, and before long there were about twelve hours of them in the room. They pushed and tumbled over one another and completely hand in the donkey and the house dog. At last and the teacher himself came in. Welcome! He said, and hurried out to fetch pelts for the jackal and the house dog to sit on.

'What is your dodge for this situation? ' Donkey, I asked the house dog. 'My dodgers have shrunk into 2 'said the dog in fear and Lamentation. Seeing so many hyenas had quite unnerved him. When the teacher returned, the donkey said : 'we have called to have our fortunes told.

'Very well' the teacher, and he began to smooth out the ground in front of where he was sitting. When he had done this, he drew many lines in the dust, and at last he said that he had an answer.

'What is it?' Asked the donkey.

' I see a way in, 'said the teacher, bet I don't see any way out.' Try again' said the donkey, so the teacher tried a second time, when he had finished the donkey ask him what he saw.

' sudden death' he replied.

At this, the donkey turned to The Dog and said, 'if you've listened to me, we should have had a different answer'.

' what do you mean?' asked the teacher. 'Is nothing' so the donkey' I only that we had thirty goats with us when we came here, and I wanted to bring them in with us, but we don't care said we shouldn't 'where are they'? Asked the teacher. 'They are just outside' so they are by the tree I'll bring them inside the teacher 'very well' the donkey to the dog go and fetch them right away

'Right' said the dog

Of course as soon as he got outside, he took to his heels and ran off as fast as he could go

' The dog's been gone a long time 'said the teacher after a while.

'You'd better go after him then' Said the donkey

So the teacher set off searching for the house dog and as soon as he had gone, the donkey slipped off away as well

Later on he met the dog again. 'Hello 'he said. 'What about all those dodges of yours? '

The dog was covered confused. 'You are the dodgy one,' he said. I have no dodges and all.'

'Myself, said the donkey. I'm a one Dodge man.
