On one of the lands across the narrow sea is a place called bloom bottom.
The town got its name from the lush green surrounding it. Giant trees and beautiful fields.
And in this town, there will be good books a werewolf lives with his wife Mary who at this moment is heavy
And about to give birth.
Mary is clutching to the edge of her bed and squats at the midwifery home of bloom bottom where babies are being delivered.
She is surrounded by six midwives who all assist lady mary to birth to her child.
After pushing tirelessly and one baby pops out, the midwives notice that Mary wasnt done yet and the struggle continues.
His screams mixed with the rumble of thunderclaps outside and flash that light up the room in instances showing the face of screaming Mary.
Willy is outside the room with his friend Steve Calloway and the two men pacing to and fro in confusion and unrest waiting patiently for the midwives to tell them it's all over and mother and baby are safe.
Willy was thinking to himself, what would he do if he was asked to choose between mother and child the answer he had thought of made him stop briefly and then continue to move around aimlessly.
The door opens and an old woman in her fifties walks towards the two men. Looking at the green eyes of wily she says, your wife had twins, both girls. but one could not make it.
And then she walks past the two men who immediately ask in unison how is Mary.
They turn to look a each other and then the matron replies, she is safe.
Willy sighs out of relief and then the two men sit together on the bench Willy looks at Steve, she made it.
I knew she would he replied, she has always been strong. I a now Uncle Steve he said.
I am now a father Willy said as realization pour over him.
Steve gets up, I will arrange for the baby to be buried make sure Mary is okay he says as he disappears into the rain.
Willy waits patiently until another midwife comes out, would you like to see the baby the woman asks and then lead the way for Willy as they both walk into the room.
Mary was on the bed and sleeping, Willy walks up to her and kisses her forehead before he goes to the baby in the cradle next to her.
Look how precious she is, see how beautiful she is, the baby moves and then he drops the baby back.
Right here he knew he was going to call her Rihanna.
Where is the other baby I want to see her too he requested. One of the midwives brought the baby to him and handed him the dead child.
She was wrapped in a white cloth and she looked like she had been cleaned too.
Tears rolled down his cheeks, he thought of how much he would have loved her, how Rihana and Heer would be best of friends. There was no use naming the child he thought but he would have called her Hanna.
Hanna Williams, he thought to himself what a beautiful name.
Steve pushes the door, all drenched and cold, he walks to the cradle ignoring the midwives to see his niece and then he turns to his brother-in-law.
She is very beautiful, his eyes set on the baby Willy was holding and then he says, bring the child.
As he walks towards him, he takes the child and out the door, he went.
Steve knew if the child was put in the ground early the couple would only remember what she once was but the hurt would not linger.
On the other side of the midwifery is a couple holding a child and smiling. They have tried to conceive for twelve years and each time their baby died at birth but this time it was different this time she lived.
Mr mason Gate looked at his wife Linda and asked Honey what should we call her?
Look at her eyes let's call her Ariel, she will be our magical baby.
Mason smiled but deep down in his heart he knew there was no magic, the baby had died again and he had paid the midwife to find him a baby. And thank god she had done so in the nick of time.
Now they would not try having kids anymore, Linda would concentrate on grooming this child and he would concentrate on his steel business.
Give me a minute he said, he stood and walked towards the door and straight to the matron's office.
She was seated at her desk with a gloomy face that only lit up when Mason walked through the door.
He dipped his hand in his pocket and brought out a black pouch and dropped it on her desk.
You may sit mr mason she announced as her hands made straight for the pouch.
Mason doesn't move but waits patiently as her eyes raise to meet his.
This isn't what we agreed upon she said her smile gone.
No, but it is its weight in gold he replied.
Oh my, she said as she looked at the coins of gold in her hand unable to tell if it was real or as he said its weight in gold.
I don't want to hear a word about this Mason cautioned.
Why would I tell a soul?
I am not talking about you, what about the others?
We have been in this business for quite a while mr mason and trust are the fuel that runs it.
Very well then if you say so, he turns to leave knowing this would be the last time he would be seeing the lady.
Mason Gates that night took his wife and child and they left the hospital and also the town.
They had only come here because Mason convinced Linda that this town was full of magic and the baby was going to survive which it did.
