Jake thought he had found his true love but only to be shattered when he discovers that Troy only saw him as a rebound. Chapter 1 Prologue
"When do you plan on telling him?"
"Tell him what?"
"Tell him about your plan for the child."
My feet involuntarily stopped upon hearing those words. I can't be mistaken. I was certain they were talking about me. I instinctively clutched my chest as my heart raced.
"I have no intention of telling him."
"Seriously? Are you just going to surprise him? It's better to let him know earlier that you'll be taking the child after it's born."
"It doesn't matter. I'm sure he'll value the money more than that child."
My fist clenched tightly as tears welled up in my eyes, one after another. I tried to remain silent as I walked away from my hiding place.
"And what will you do after you have the child?"
"I'll settle everything with Maddison."
My heart shattered even more upon hearing those words. I was a fool. A fool who believed in his words. I thought he would love me now that we were going to have a child together, but it's still Maddison. It's always been her!
I ran out of the mansion. I didn't know where I was going. All I wanted was to get away from here. To get away from him.
I will leave this place, and I will make sure he never sees me or our child again! I won't allow everything to be taken away from me. He refused to accept my love, and I refused to let him take the opportunity of being a parent to our child as well.
