No one knew that four years ago, Choi Ji Eun had a contract marriage with a lawyer in London, not even her parents, and until now, everyone would still sees Choi Ji Eun as a single woman who would soon marry Lim Woo Jin, a young company owner. However, who would have thought that her former contract husband would suddenly appear in Seoul, becoming the talk of the town for defending a well–known embezzler of agency funds in South Korea. Choi Ji Eun knows that great danger is threatening her marriage, especially when a five-year-old little girl mentions the woman's pseudonym while still living in London. "Mommy is Cassandra Choi. You're my mom, right?"

Chapter 1 1. I'm not you're mother

"Are you happy?" asked Lim Woo Jin, gently stroking the hand where the ring was placed on his beloved's ring finger.

She nodded and smiled warmly, a happy twinkle in her eyes. "I'm delighted."

Lim Woo Jin turned to the watch, and he chuckled. "What a pity. Time has interfered with today's fun."

"No problem. You must have a lot of business at your office, so hurry up and leave. Besides, you asked me to meet you in the afternoon, and there must be many things to do, Woo Jin-ssi."

The man smiled. He rubbed his girlfriend's head. "I'm getting dizzy from having a too-nice girlfriend."

"You say that too often."

"Good girl, I must drop you off before taking care of all my work. Let's go!" He took Choi Ji Eun by the hand, a woman with long wavy hair that was always loose, emphasizing her beauty.

They came out of a jewelry store with a famous brand, let's call it Cart**r. It wouldn't be a hardship for Lim Woo Jin to spend only a few million won to buy his wedding ring–considering that aside from being the son of a chaebol, Lim Woo Jin also has his own business.

When he arrived at the parking lot, Lim Woo Jin suddenly stopped.

"What's wrong?" asked Choi Ji Eun.

The man chuckled. He had just remembered something. "I left my phone in that storefront. Can you wait about five minutes?"

Choi Ji Eun nodded. "Go on."

Lim Woo Jin had stepped aside, and while Choi Ji Eun looked back at the ring on her hand, she couldn't stop smiling. Anyone knows that marrying the person you love the most in life is a happy thing, and soon Choi Ji Eun will be the wife of Lim Woo Jin, the man she's been with for a year.

The direction of Choi Ji Eun's eyes shifted, and she saw the highway across the street–a little girl around five years old was standing next to her nanny, visible from the woman's clothes.

There was nothing unusual about them until Choi Ji Eun glared when the little girl slipped out of the nanny's custody and ran towards the highway. However, the situation was quiet. Anything terrible could happen at any time.

Without thinking much more, Choi Ji Eun ran toward the little girl in the middle of the road. She pulled her hand and hugged her without hesitation when a black sedan drove from the opposite direction, but fortunately, the driver quickly hit the brakes, so Choi Ji Eun and the girl were safe.

Across the street, the nanny screamed, crying, and running to the girl.

"Are you okay?" Choi Ji Eun released her hug. She knelt in front of the little girl and touched some body parts. "You're not hurt, are you? Tell me."

No, the little girl remained silent and stared at Choi Ji Eun without blinking.

"Hey, kiddo. You're okay. Are you scared? I'll hug you again. Calm down." Choi Ji Eun did so, then let go again, but the girl's expression was still the same as if watching or busy recognizing the woman before her.

Tin-tin!

The horn of a black sedan sounded excited. Choi Ji Eun immediately got up and pulled the girl across the street, and the nanny hugged her while crying.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry," the nanny said without stopping crying.

"I think she was a little shocked. She just kept quiet even though I kept asking about had condition," Choi Ji Eun said.

The nanny woman released the hug, bowed, and apologized to Choi Ji Eun.

"No problem, she must be very active." Choi Ji Eun knelt in front of the girl again. "There are no wounds on your body, so you're fine. I hope you don't run like before. Do you realize it's dangerous?"

"Eomma." A word managed to escape had lips. She looked at the nanny and pointed at Choi Ji Eun. "She is my mother."

The nanny and Choi Ji Eun's expressions were both confused.

"No, Seo Na Ra. She's the woman who just saved you. Let's thank her."

However, the girl shook her head and pointed at Choi Ji Eun. "No, she's my mom. You don't know her at all? I tore up her picture and kept it somewhere, and Dad doesn't know I stole it."

"Ah, maybe you have the wrong person." The nanny apologized to Choi Ji Eun again. "Her mother passed away when Seo Na Ra was one year old, and maybe your faces are similar."

"Ah, that should be it." Choi Ji Eun smiled awkwardly. Across the other street–someone was calling her. Lim Woo Jin was standing there waving. "I have to go back."

When Choi Ji Eun was about to cross the street, Seo Na Ra's tiny hand touched her black skirt. "What's wrong? I have to go back there, and my fiancé is waiting."

Seo Na Ra shook her head. "No, why do you have to get engaged to another man while I have Dad at home? He's a hard worker. Can you come home today?"

Choi Ji Eun swallowed. She didn't understand–why Seo Na Ra insisted on believing she was the mother.

"But I'm not your mother, Seo Na Ra."

"Why would you say something like that? You left me a long time ago." It was apparent that the little girl was about to cry, her eyes turning red. "I kept your picture."

"I'm not–"

"Seo Na Ra, let's go home." The nanny led her away as a black Porsche pulled up on the side of the road. "Uncle Wo Rim has picked up, and we should go back now."

"I don't want to go home, and my mom is here."

Not wanting to complicate the situation, the nanny carried Seo Na Ra even though her crying started. The child even stretched out her hands for Choi Ji Eun to do something while the nanny stood by the Porsche.

What's wrong with that little girl?

Choi Ji Eun was stunned. Her heart ached for no reason, and she seemed to want to prevent Seo Na Ra from leaving, but why?

"MRS. CASSANDRA, HURRY BACK HOME. EOMMA! EOMMA!" The last voice from Seo Na Ra's lips before the Porsche took her away made Choi Ji Eun jump out of her reverie.

"Cassan-Cassandra?" The woman swallowed. She froze there while Lim Woo Jin relented to cross the road because his girlfriend never turned around.

"Ji Eun-ssi, what happened?" asked Lim Woo Jin after crossing the street. He touched his girlfriend's shoulder. "Do you know those people?"

Choi Ji Eun shook her head. "No, I don't recognize them. Sorry for making you wait there."

"No problem, let's go home. My uncle called."

"Alright."
