Now Sadie must figure out how to live life as a Queen of a cartel while ensuring her brothers safety, and her new husbands happiness.
The nerves coursing through her body sent chills up and down her spine, as she tried her best to disguise them with a smile. Sitting across from her was Marco Valdez, the head of the Valdez Cartel and the most beautiful man she had ever lay eyes on. Extending his hand for their infamous handshake she followed the guide of his long and masculine fingers. "Not too bad for an outsider" he said, smiling softly. His gray eyes flashed with a bit of surprise before regaining their blank expression once more. "¿En qué puedo ayudarte, bella dama?" he asked, smiling briefly once again.
She hesitated, what exactly should she say? You're men are beating up my brother and I need them to stop? I saw your men take my brother and I want him back now? She shivered visibly, and he snapped his fingers, as one of his men took off their coat and placed it around her shoulders.e She looked back at him with appreciation, and returned her gaze to Marco, whose gaze was visibly softened. "Mi Hermano..." she began, pausing to watch his reaction cautiously before she continued. Leaning forward, he placed his finger against her lip to silence her. He understood, and there was no need for her to continue. She sighed with relief. "¿Dominic es tu hermano? He looked at her with a smirk slowly forming on his face. "Si," she whispered softly, lowering her gaze to the floor. Once again leaning forward he softly brushed his hand across her cheek causing her to look up and into his eyes. He was the epitome of perfection. His waves lay flat against his head, cut crisp and to perfection. His eyes and lips looked like they were handcrafted by God himself. Even though his thermal long sleeve she could see his defined and chiseled arms coated with tattoos that peaked out over the collar wrapping around his neck. She immediately broke the gaze trying not to be too obvious as they scanned over every inch of his torso. "He stole from me, mamacita" he said, breaking into english and the tone of his voice turning serious. She looked up again. How could Dom have done such a foolish and stupid thing. Tears began to form in her eyes, and before she could turn to hide them he ordered everyone to leave the room; she tensed. He smiled softly at her and somehow that made everything okay. Her brother was currently being held captive by this man, and just a smile made her instantly feel calm and safe; what was wrong with her. Your lips, he said to her in a voice so low she almost questioned herself if he had just set what she had thought he said. Before she could come to terms with his words, he leaned forward slowly and whispered it again, "Your lips are so fucking beautiful," and kissed her softly at first. Before she could process what was happening she felt his tongue slip between them and begin devouring her own. He tasted so sweet. She couldn't think, emotions began flooding throughout her body and mind, and all she could do was give in. H wrapped his fingers around the back of her head as he tangled them in her curls. Biting her bottom lip softly and pulling away to stare into her eyes. "Let us make a deal...hmmm?" he asked, his hands were still wrapped around her curls, and his body only inches above her own. She could do nothing but nod, as she tried to catch her breathe and slow her racing heart. "You want your brother back, and I want you" she looked at him, alarm flooding her face. She began to try and back away from him pushing herself against the sofa, and looking around frantically for an escape. He felt her fear, and gripped her curls tighter. "Not like that," he said, causing her to look at him again. "I want you to be mine. I feel things with you I have never felt at first sight." she hesitated, looking around once more but visibly calming. "Your brother would be family if you became mine," he said, pausing to allow the weight of his words to fully register in her mind. "There is a different way to deal with family." She nodded slowly. Would it be so bad to be his? She looked at him again, he was beautiful. His entire cadence and aura was a mixture of danger, beauty and power. She nodded slowly. He pulled her to him with arm as he released her curls from his fingers. Picking up his phone with his free hand, he ordered the person on the other line to bring Dom out after cleaning him up. She was relieved. "What about what he stole from you?" she asked him softly. She didn't want to anger him again but she did need to know what exactly was expected of her brother under this deal she had just struck. "That will be deducted from your dowry. She nodded in understanding. The money she would have to pay her brother has the man responsible for her to call her his wife. The rest of your dowry will be forfeited in exchange for my taking care of him for the rest of his life. As your brother he will live here to keep you safe in my absence and to keep you company. You are free to travel and go as you wish. You are not my prisoner beloved, and you will be my wife. She could not believe what was happening. Everything was happening so fast, and before she could get a grip she heard the doors sliding open and her brother's voice "Sadie!" Whipping around he ran to her collapsing in her arms. She dropped to the ground rocking him back and forth. "Dom," she whispered, pulling away to examine his face. She loved his face. It was the perfect combination of their mother and father. She always found comfort looking at him whenever she missed them beyond what photographs could cure. She could tell he was confused, but it was not the time to explain everything. She just wanted him to know he was safe now, and that they would never have to worry again.
