Chapter 1 Shaped as an outsider of my own life

The pain was unbearable. A mixture of sensations and thoughts flooded her mind, and she gazed out at the rain, which seemed to create a barrier between her and the outside world. Despite her tears, passers-by would not have been able to tell she was crying.

She eventually gathered the strength to leave where she stood and face the rain, allowing the cold drops to mix with her hot tears streaming down her face and wash away her pain. She had been crying for some time and her face was flushed. She felt that something inside her was withering away, despite her attractiveness.

With tears streaming down her cheeks, she lay down on the cold, rain-soaked ground. The heavy raindrops felt more like nails that were digging into her flesh because of the icy temperature. Had she not been so numb, she might have felt pain. She tried her best not to think about anything, but her mind would not let her rest.

The quarrels, over and over again in her memory, only intensified her pain. The impulsive choices she had made in the past did not ease the numbness that was beginning to take control of her thoughts. Soon other people would arrive, and she would have to hide her pain and pretend that she was not suffering. She regretted having agreed to eat with her friend and felt even worse knowing that two more were going to be coming over.

She briefly yearned to escape her physical body and experience the weightlessness of the soul, but she recognized the futility of such a desire. Her soul, too, was weighed down by grief, and she struggled to find forgiveness, even within herself. She knew that a transformation akin to a butterfly's metamorphosis was not possible in such a short time.

She had lost hope, her faith was shaken, her fears prevented her from acting, she knew that change comes from within, but she didn't know how to find hope in her shattered soul. The stupor that had taken over her body and mind could not be shaken.

The pain she experienced was palpable. The metaphor of a blunt knife attempting to pierce her soft skin and reach her heart, which despite constant inner turmoil continued to beat and bleed, was both poetic and sarcastic.

In a rebellious act, she realized that in order to escape the pain, she would have to flee from herself. Although she was struggling with the changes that life was imposing, she decided not to give up and to try her best. It was the only thing she could do.

Single-minded, she got up and washed off the rainwater in the bath. The hot water on her icy body sounded like a breath of hope: maybe her heart could be mended. The warmth of the bath water gave her the feeling that her soul would never die again; it was like stepping out of the cold and into the warmth of the sun. She let go of all the remaining pain and fear, allowing the bathwater to wash away what the rain couldn't. After changing into her clothes, she did the same with her emotions, putting on a mask. Although not entirely new, she still had her fears and tended to leave her feelings exposed.

She struggled with knowing when to speak and when to stay silent, often letting her emotions guide her in the wrong direction. As she tidied up and applied her makeup, she resolved to keep her personal life more private. She realized that not everyone deserved the candour she once had.

For now, she needed to avoid the pain of being who she thought she was, and would save reflecting on that for later, as she doesn't trust many people. Although she is outgoing, she is always a loner. This is the only time she is not afraid to be and feel anything. Her ultimate goal is to break free from her past and create her own story. Fairy tales are often considered as stories that aim to control the emotions and feelings of young girls.
