In Love With My New Boss Chapter 1 Had Sex With My Husband After Filing For Divorce

"Trending News: Brayan Rogers Spotted with a Supermodel at Night?"

In the dimly lit bar, Thalia Palmer found herself secluded in a corner, scrolling through the latest gossip about her husband on her phone, her frustration growing with each sip of wine.

The headlines of Brayan's latest scandal seemed all too familiar; no matter how detached she felt from her distant husband, the news stirred unrest within her.

It dawned on her that perhaps it was time to close this chapter of her life.

With newfound resolve, she drafted an email, attaching the divorce papers she had prepared long ago, and sent them to Brayan.

The confirmation of a successful send allowed her to breathe a sigh of relief.

It was finally over.

The abrupt placement of her phone on the table caught the attention of her friend, Cindy Hunt, who looked over with concern. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine," Thalia assured her, managing a smile for the first time in what felt like ages. "I've just sent the divorce papers to Brayan. It looks like we'll be going our separate ways soon."

Cindy's face lit up with a mix of relief and happiness for her friend. She passed a glass of wine to Thalia, venting, "Honestly, you should have left him sooner. Three years of marriage and you two have never seen each other. He's been nothing but a jerk, caught up in one scandal after another. A complete failure as a husband!"

"You're not wrong," Thalia acknowledged, the wine bringing a bittersweet sense of relief. Her eyes reflected a mix of liberation and sorrow.

She was an orphan, but her life had been relatively smooth after being taken in by Alfonso Faust.

When Alfonso arranged her marriage to Brayan, the CEO of the Rogers Group and his friend's grandson, she didn't object, hoping for a harmonious life together.

Yet, Brayan's indifference was palpable from the start. He couldn't even be bothered to go through the formalities of their marriage in person.

Despite Thalia's attempts to bridge the gap between them, Brayan remained unresponsive, never picking up her calls or showing the slightest interest in their marriage.

Moreover, Brayan's life seemed rife with scandals, none of which he bothered to shield his wife from.

Feeling neglected, Thalia's efforts to connect with him dwindled until she no longer saw the point in trying.

Resolved to end the charade, she chose freedom over a loveless marriage.

Snapping back to the present, Thalia and Cindy tried to lighten their spirits with a few more glasses of wine, successfully casting aside the gloom for a moment.

However, their attempt to forget was interrupted when Cindy received a call. After ending the conversation, she turned to Thalia with regret in her eyes.

"Thalia, I'm really sorry, but I've got to head to a shoot now. I've already booked a room for you upstairs so you can get some rest tonight."

Cindy was an actress committed to her career, leaving Thalia accustomed to such abrupt departures. "It's okay, go ahead," Thalia reassured her.

With Cindy gone, Thalia lingered in the bar alone, nursing a few more glasses of wine.

Feeling the wine's effects, she made her way upstairs, her steps unsteady and her vision slightly blurred.

As she navigated the corridors, Thalia mumbled to herself, trying to make out the room number Cindy had given her.

"Was it 906... or 909?"

Muttering, she barely noticed the door in front of her swing open until a strong, warm grip enclosed her wrist.

Before she could process what was happening, Thalia found herself pulled into the dark, unlit luxury of the room beyond.

"Ah!" In a moment of panic, Thalia let out a scream, her instincts kicking in as she tried to free herself. However, her efforts were in vain; the man lifted her effortlessly and, within moments, she found herself on the bed.

"Help me, and I promise to make it up to you," the man murmured, his voice deep. As he leaned over her, Thalia could feel the heat emanating from him, a clear sign he was under the influence of something potent.

She attempted to push him back, managing to utter, "I... Let me help you..."

Her intention to suggest seeking medical assistance was cut short as he misinterpreted her words as consent. Abandoning any restraint, he silenced her protests with a kiss, drowning out all sounds but her muffled cries.

When morning arrived, Thalia awoke with a heavy head, the events of the night flooding back as she heard the man's breathing close by.

She wrapped her arms around herself, sitting up to confront the reality of the night before.

The shock was palpable when she finally saw the man's face.

Even in sleep, his features were striking, but it was the recognition that struck her like lightning.

"What? How could this be?"

It was Brayan-the very man she had asked for a divorce the night before.

The sterile white of the operating room blurred, then sharpened, as Skye Sterling felt the cold clawing its way up her body. The heart monitor flatlined, a steady, high-pitched whine announcing her end. Her uterus had been removed, a desperate attempt to stop the bleeding, but the blood wouldn't clot. It just kept flowing, warm and sticky, pooling beneath her. Through heavy eyes, she saw a trembling nurse holding a phone on speaker. "Mr. Kensington," the nurse's voice cracked, "your wife... she's critical." A pause, then a sweet, poisonous giggle. Seraphina Miller. "Liam is in the shower," Seraphina's voice purred. "Stop calling, Skye. It's pathetic. Faking a medical emergency on our anniversary? Even for you, that's low." Then, Liam's bored voice: "If she dies, call the funeral home. I have a meeting in the morning." Click. The line went dead. A second later, so did Skye. The darkness that followed was absolute, suffocating, a black ocean crushing her lungs. She screamed into the void, a silent, agonizing wail of regret for loving a man who saw her as a nuisance, for dying without ever truly living. Until she died, she didn't understand. Why was her life so tragically wasted? Why did her husband, the man she loved, abandon her so cruelly? The injustice of it all burned hotter than the fever in her body. Then, the air rushed back in. Skye gasped, her body convulsing violently on the mattress. Her eyes flew open, wide and terrified, staring blindly into the darkness. Her trembling hand reached for her phone. May 12th. Five years ago. She was back.

I went to the City Clerk’s office for a routine copy of my marriage license to finalize a trust fund audit. I expected a simple piece of paper, but the clerk’s pitying look told me my entire life was a lie. "The license was never finalized, Ms. Oliver. In the eyes of the state, you are single." The three-hundred-guest wedding at the Plaza and the Vogue features meant nothing. My husband, Gray Cooley, had intentionally filed the documents with a "procedural defect" so he could discard me without a legal divorce. Moments later, an iCloud invite titled "Our Little Secret" popped up on my screen. It was a photo of my best friend, Brylee, holding a positive pregnancy test at our Hamptons estate. Gray’s text to her was the final blow: "Happy anniversary, babe. This baby is the best gift. Once the trust unlocks today, we’re done with the charade." I soon discovered they were even stealing my career, reassigning my architectural masterpiece to Brylee while preparing my eviction notice. Gray's mother called me a "barren mule" in a leaked recording, mocking the infertility I suffered after saving Gray’s life in a construction accident. I wasn't a wife; I was a three-year placeholder used to secure his inheritance. How could the man I bled for treat me like a disposable prop? How could my best friend carry his child while pretending to comfort me through my darkest moments? The betrayal burned until it turned into a cold, hard stone of fury. I didn't cry. Instead, I walked into the penthouse of the Barretts, the Cooleys' most powerful rivals. I signed a marriage contract with Kane Barrett, the man the tabloids called the "Beast of Wall Street." "I want a wedding," I told his father, my voice steady and lethal. "Bigger than the one I had with Gray." If they wanted me gone, they would have to watch me become the woman who owns their world.

Today is October 14th, my birthday. I returned to New York after months away, dragging my suitcase through the biting wind, but the VIP pickup zone where my husband's Maybach usually idled was empty. When I finally let myself into our Upper East Side penthouse, I didn't find a cake or a "welcome home" banner. Instead, I found my husband, Caden, kneeling on the floor, helping our five-year-old daughter wrap a massive gift for my half-sister, Adalynn. Caden didn't even look up when I walked in; he was too busy laughing with the girl who had already stolen my father's legacy and was now moving in on my family. "Auntie Addie is a million times better than Mommy," my daughter Elara chirped, clutching a plush toy Caden had once forbidden me from buying for her. "Mommy is mean," she whispered loudly, while Caden just smirked, calling me a "drill sergeant" before whisking her off to Adalynn's party without a second glance. Later that night, I saw a video Adalynn posted online where my husband and child laughed while mocking my "sensitive" nature, treating me like an inconvenient ghost in my own home. I had spent five years researching nutrition for Elara's health and managing every detail of Caden's empire, only to be discarded the moment I wasn't in the room. How could the man who set his safe combination to my birthday completely forget I even existed? The realization didn't break me; it turned me into ice. I didn't scream or beg for an explanation. I simply walked into the study, pulled out the divorce papers I'd drafted months ago, and took a black marker to the terms. I crossed out the alimony, the mansion, and even the custody clause-if they wanted a life without me, I would give them exactly what they asked for. I left my four-carat diamond ring on the console table and walked out into the rain with nothing but a heavily encrypted hard drive. The submissive Mrs. Holloway was gone, and "Ghost," the most lethal architect in the tech world, was finally back online to take back everything they thought I'd forgotten.

The Discarded Heiress: Marrying My Lethal Husband

The rain in Detroit was slick with grime when my family finally came to fetch me. They didn't want a reunion; they wanted a sacrificial lamb to marry into the Kaufman empire to save their failing business. I thought I was just being sold off, but the limo ride ended under a dark overpass where six hired thugs were waiting with chains. My own sister had ordered them to "break my spirit" so I’d be a shaking, pathetic mess by the time I reached the altar. They called me "Detroit trash" and sprayed air freshener when I sat on their leather seats. My stepmother wanted a video of me begging for my life, and my father was ready to trade me like a used car to a man everyone called a "vegetable." They expected a submissive country girl, unaware that I was a high-level "cleaner" who could snap a radius bone before they could even scream. When I finally reached the Kaufman estate, I found my fiancé, Barron, slumped in a wheelchair, drooling and silent. But as soon as the doors closed, the "invalid" grabbed my wrist with a grip of iron and whispered a command that changed everything. I didn't understand why my own blood was so desperate to see me destroyed. What had I ever done to deserve a hit squad and a forced marriage to a man they thought was a corpse? But Barron isn't a vegetable, and I'm not a victim. We just touched down at the Moon family gala in a matte-black helicopter, and as the doors slide open, the "broken" bride is about to show them exactly what happens when you throw away the wrong daughter. "If we're going to crash a party," Barron whispered, his eyes burning with lethal clarity, "we should make an entrance."
