It never occurred to Melina that her new husband would be as clingy as gum attached to the bottom of a shoe. Ever before they went on their blind date and got married, she had believed married life would be routine but respectful and mundane. To her complete amazement, he had the ability to make her problems go away anytime she found herself in a tight spot. Her spouse would never admit it was luck, even when she questioned him. Up until the day she saw a local billionaire who was infamous for sulking about his wife being interviewed. She then became aware of the billionaire's striking resemblance to her spouse. It turns out that the wife he was showing so much love to was not her.

Chapter 1 A marriage of convenience

Wiltspoon's sweltering weather in October proved fatal. However, the late-autumn air made the mornings and evenings more pleasant.Melina Hunt got up first thing in the morning to make breakfast for her sister's family of three. She took her birth certificate and slipped out in silence."We're going Dutch from now on, and I'm talking about everything: housing costs, mortgages, and auto loans! Because she is staying at our house, your sister should split the cost.

Sure, she pays $2,000 every month, but it doesn't go far.""She's basically mooching off of us."Melina overheard her brother-in-law's remark during their disagreement last night. She had to move out of her sister's residence.Nevertheless, getting married was the only way to end her sister's suffering.Having never had a lover, Melina wanted to be married on short notice, so she accepted Grandma zara's invitation. Through Melina's accidental rescue of the elderly woman, Melina learned that Grandma zara was attempting to marry off her grandson, jamie York, who struggled with settling down.Melina arrived at City Hall for her twenty-minute pit stop.Missing her time to settle in.After around twenty minutes, Melina pulled up to City Hall."Melina" She was immediately drawn in by a recognizable voice as soon as she stepped out of the automobile. Grandmother zara was there."Grandma zara."Melina hurried over and noticed Grandma zara standing next to a tall, aloof-looking figure. He has to be jamie, her future spouse. When melina got a better look at Jamie's face, she was astounded.Jamie hit thirty, however, in the words of Grandma Zara, her eldest grandchild, he had no luck with women. It goes without saying that Grandma zara was anxious. He must be hideous, Melina had always assumed. Her understanding was that Jamie was employed by a large organization at a high-paying position farther up the corporate ladder. Now that they were face to face, Melina understood she had it all false.Jamie exuded an air of coolness about him and was rather handsome. With his sullen expression, he stood close to Grandma zara and gave off the impression that she should avoid him. Melina's eyes drifted across to a nearby black MPV. It wasn't some multimillion-dollar car, based on the logo. It was a national car. From this, Melina figured that she and Jamie would not be too far apart financially. At the Wiltspoon School entrance, she and a former school mate had opened a bookstore.Melina used to crochet tiny trinkets to sell online in her spare time. Not too awful, the sales were. She could earn twenty thousand dollars a month, a reliable income. In Wiltspoon, the same amount would put her in the category of white collar workers. She could therefore afford to give her sister $5,000 for living expenses. Her brother-in-law was unaware of her income, though. Melina instructed her sister to keep $3,000 to herself and tell her husband about the remaining $2,000."This is Jamie, my oldest grandchild, and he's calm. At thirty years old, he still struggles to establish himself in the public eye. However,Though he's not the friendliest, he pays attention and is thoughtful. We've just been friends for three months, but you saved my life. You can rely on me not to suggest a horrible man to you."Jamie took in his grandmother's assessment of him and, without uttering a word, cast an icy and thoughtful glance at Melina.Maybe he was no longer bothered by her complaints.Melina was aware that Grandma Zara was blessed with nine grandsons, as each of her three sons produced three grandsons for her. Grandma Zara craved that affinity with Melina because she was missing a granddaughter.Melina smiled and held out her right hand to Jamie, even though she was blushing. "Hello, Mr. York." Melina Hunt is who I am. Jamie surveyed Melina from head to toe and back with his piercing eyes. His voice sounded cold as he extended his right hand to shake Linda's hand after she cleared her throat. "Jamie" Jamie shook hands with Melina and then lifted his left hand to check the time. "I have a lot on my plate. Let's finish this up quickly."With acknowledgement, Melina hummed.Grandmother zara leaped in. "Go ahead and organize the paperwork inside. I'll be here waiting for you."Get in the car, Linda. The weather is warm today. As he assisted Linda in getting into the car, Jamie said, Melina was able to concur with Grandma zara that Jamie may appear callous, but his heart was in the right place based on his deeds.Despite their lack of familiarity, Grandma zara indicated that Melina would be able to move out of her sister's house and into an apartment that Jamie would own and pay for entirely following the marriage. She might use it to put a stop to the conflicts in the flat and persuade her sister that Melina was in capable care.It was simply a convenient marriage. Before long, Jamie came back to Melina's side and said, "Let's go" "Sure." Calmly, he trailed him into City Hall. Jamie prodded Melina in the registry office. "Ms. Melissa, if you decide against moving forward with this, you have the option to withdraw at any time. That doesn't considered casually."He didn't want to marry a lady he'd just met, so he was hoping Melina changed her mind.
